Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

In vk3 i'm starting to feel a little guilty, i have already
killed the lover of a friend that is not even guilty,
some secondary missions for a group called hypocrites are murders of people that don't look bad,
a crazy girl wants me to kill a guy that dumped her(but the truth is that the guy was not flirting with her, he only wanted to be gentle)
... I guess this is what i should expect from prisoners... :\

I don't get the point of hostesses in vk3, basically they are sexy shop assistant that you need to pay to talk with them :\
Is it equal in real Japan? I always thought that that kind of japanese hostesses were some sort of sex-less prostitutes, in vk3 they are shop assistants that take you apart, talk with you and let you buy/sell/etc.
Should i be thankful because i can still talk to cute shop assistants and use shop services for free?
Anyway there are always those brute and ugly guys in the vk3 poor district's shops lol.

A couple things I saw in preview videos (YouTube) prior, really put me off:

Crappy battle sound effects and the sound of your footsteps doesn't change; whether it be marsh or stone underfoot...am I correct?
The footstep sound iirc is different between walking on the stone of the castle and walking on the grass outside, i'll control.

While we are at footsteps i discovered that there's a sort of pedometer(=footsteps counter! Don't think bad! XD ) and you can buy presents with its points! lol XD

Hyperdimension Neptunia PP coming to North America/Europe next year.

Are these games any good? I surprised myself by liking the Atelier games, so now I'm interested in trying out other stuff I might not otherwise play.
Not the neptunia you think, this is a music game like project diva.
Frankly i don't understand this move, do someone really expect to gain money with this game in the west? I mean ok hatsune miku, but this is even more niche than niche.

EDIT:
Top of the page:
buy valhalla knights 3 and batman!

That's disappointing. I'd hoped it was another new JRPG to try out. I mean, Valhalla Knights 3 proved to be pretty lousy, so they won't all be *good* new experiences, but it's still fun to play games that I wouldn't otherwise play, which seems to be the main thing I'm getting out of my Vita.

Starlight Inception is a multiplatform indie game that has a budget of 150k$ (- possible physical pledge rewards & their postage and whatever portion Kickstarter & Amazon took from it). It's not gonna be a technical showcase and might even, SHOCKER, have some aliasing.

Many smaller indie game than Starlight Inception from basements and garage studios on all platforms have AA, it's really not an exclusive feature to big budget games or rich developers.

I just said that because the recent Vita games have lack of AA, from Batman Blackgate to VK3 to God Eater 2 and other less demanding game which is completely weird to me because Vita first year games were really good with the AA.

All the rest apart, if they localize the project diva clone why do you think that the neptunia jrpg won't be localized? Neptunia rebirth is not even out in Japan, neptunia pp instead was released time ago, it's normal that it will be localized before.

Why wasting time and bandwidth loading 50 posts that i have already read? :|
Anyway next time i'll be more careful.

Well since getting home AO Blackgate is missing from the AU store, but the Destiny of Spirits open beta is there so that's just as good. I've decided to play Blackgate before the PC game, mainly because I have a feeling it will be the shorter game (especially if the PC version has Riddler trophies like Arkham City (Jesus fuck)).

I do have some high hopes for Destiny of Spirits though, let's hope it delivers.

I was just joking. many gaffers uses 50post per page and games recommendations don't hurt.

I read on Origin OT that Origin is 9 hours with less side quest than AA and AC.

Sorry, there is no riddler trophies in Origin.

hmm I'm still early in the game but so far:

Cons

- framerate is worse than Arkham City (when gliding)
- graphics (no improvements)
- no riddler trophies

Remember: I've only played 3 1/2 hours and finished the third story mission. Also, I still haven't found all of the sidemission-characters or unlocked all collectible stuff.

but there is some enigma collectibles tho.

How similar is it to project diva? I bought the vita version off someone on gaf and really enjoyed it even though I can't read any of the menus, might be interested in this if it's a good game anyways.

Hm. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing to be honest (trophies).

Well screw it, I'll play Blackgate first anyway. Any excuse to play more Vita. Plus my PC desk chair is still at my old house and I think I need that if I want to spend extended periods of time at my desk.

Eb games has castlevania mirror of fate for vita listed on their site. it's probably an error but I still thought I should post it.https://www.ebgames.co.nz/ps-vita-158525-Castlevania-Lords-of-Shadow---Mirror-of-Fate-PS-Vita[LINK

Yea mostly a mistake I guess. we saw Konami attitude toward Vita in the west in the past few months like in PES situation when they they flat out said the userbase is small and don't justify a port.

SO much for their designed for 3d screen ideology! Guess that went out the window with hD ports. The game assets looked good. Will buy if framerate is good.
probably a listing error

I remember that.

"The Vita could have run the game no problem, and we did seriously consider it as a [target] platform," the game's producer, Dave Cox, told Pocket Gamer.

"But when we saw the game on 3DS and how it looked with the 3D,it made us realise we could never replicate that on another system."

Cox is a funny dude.

Wait, i have controlled and i was wrong, it's more like idolm@ster(not that i have an idea of the difference lol).
You are a manager and your task is to make the goddesses more popular, they dance and sing but it's not like project diva.
Sorry.
Here some info:

Wolf Among Us is great news. Wondering how I'll buy it now... wait for all episodes and see how it prices/releases I guess.

So did Munch's Oddysee Vita get cancelled or what?

They were hoping to get it out before the end of the year back in August.

They just had this on their twitter feed a few days ago:

I really hope they just release The Wolf Among Us all at once. I hate serialized stories.

:\

I didn't know that-- I don't follow the games at all, so I had no idea this one was older. That's good news, if they're localizing them in order of how they were released.

It's not like Project Diva at all. There's no rhythm gameplay.

Since idol games aren't a thing in the west, the closest comparison would be a visual novel where, depending on the choices you make, you raise different stats. You need to manage time and schedules for optimum point distribution. Higher stats mean better performances during concerts.

IM@S has rhythm game segments during its concerts, but Neptune gives you control of the camera and special effects. It's not quite as interactive as IM@S, but you are the producer after all.

And here I thought the Neptune PP Idol was a rhythm game this whole team. Now I am disappointed. I don't know how I feel about managing an idol group lol. I'll still buy it but I don't know if I will like it.
This game is niche, within a niche, within a niche. xD

So Neptunia doesn't have any actual rhythm gameplay? I might have to pass on it then. :(

So it's a sort of idol variant of princess maker?

the beta is suppose to be on the PSN worldwide today. Its available in asia, available in the UK if you psn plus. But not in the US.

Welcome to life with SCEA. Your beta isn't coming today. Who knows when you'll see it, if ever.

You mean Dead Nation? I'm sure I read that it won't be, but I'm not sure I'll be able to track down a confirmation.

Odd, considering Flower and Fl0w are from that same batch of "been on PSN forever" and they're cross-buy.

Unelss you've got some strange cache settings, you wouldn't be wasting time or bandwidth, as almost anything that required loading would already be cached. :P

I figured as much. Oh well, I only bought episode 1. So I'll stop there and wait for the Vuta release.

Speaking of episodic Vita games... what the hell happened to the rest of the Jacob Jones episodes?!

He was eaten by the bigfoot.

Anyone have experience with this type of mail from Japan?
Carrier: Eco - SAL Registered

I'm wondering how long my 64gb card is going to sit at JFK airport.

Oh wow I just tried the Neptunia PP demo today, and they announce the localization on the same day.

Alright guys, which other Japanese-only game demo should I try next, so that we magically get a localization announced for it?

Just pray those airports employees didn't have a Vita. It's too tempting xD

God Eater 2 definitly ;)

Yes, please. And try some Tales of when you finish with God Eater.

Random non-vita question.... Dont know where elseto ask - anyone know if the WD 400 days dlc sale works with my retail copy of the walking dead on ps3?

Vita/3DS question. Can the systems be charged at any time, or do you have to wait until the battery is depleted? Is there risk of giving the battery a half life?

Are the L & R buttons particularly prone to wearing down? I just played through a game where holding down R allows you to run at a higher speed, so it's taken the most abuse from a handheld that's only roughly 2 months old. I just noticed that if I press R all the way down, unless I actually press it against its base there are times where it won't register. And it doesn't have the same resistance as my L button.

Is this reason to call Sony and have it fixed or is it just normal wear of poorly designed shoulder buttons?

Welcome to my nightmare, and yes mine are sometimes unresponsive, I will be picking up the 2k for trigger intensive games or hold out for a 3k if it ever makes it that far.

Just playing Escape Plan and the devs Mustve coded it to have Halloween devcorations over the last week of October as there were pumpkins ghosts and cobwebs all over the place. Little things like that make me like the game even more!

Nearly finished the main game then on yo Asylum!
