PSA: iOS7 users hating the slower animations. 7.0.3 allows you to disable them.

Folders are so much more tolerable now because even though it still has a delay, the fade in animation keeps the icons where they will be, while the zooming is a moving target and causes more delay while your brain adapts. So happy with that. I miss the parallax and the app switching animations but this is so much more usable on my 4S.

I just wanted to add ... my 5s had worst battery life than my old 4, basically lasting around 16 hrs of regular use (vs basically 24 hrs on my 4)... after I disabled "Background App Refresh", and turned motion off after 7.0.3 my phone has gone almost 2 days without a charge

I thought I'd share this...

and by the way (like others have mentioned) while I liked the Parallax effect, I definitely like the new fade-out more as everything seems faster, so I'm keeping motion disabled

I have the 5 and this update has saved my battery life as well. Big time.

My ipad 3 won't be useless now! Seriously eye-candy animations are just useless performance hogs, its already bad enough for that thing to drive a retina display.

What does turning off Background App Refresh sacrifice? Do you miss notifications?

as per the screen description:

"Allows apps to refresh their content when on Wi-Fi or cellular, or use Location Services, in the background. Turning off apps may help preserve battery life"

... considering this is still not "real" multi-tasking, and how fast both the phone and the network is, I don't miss this feature much

Ok, thanks. I don't have one so I couldn't look it up but I'm checking how I can improve battery on my mom's 5s. She wouldn't want to miss Hangouts or G+ notifications though so I was wondering how it would affect that.

people really should be posting their devices as well when saying this helped or not.

Really curious how well the new ipads hold up with how many problems people seem to be having with 5S atm.
