Thuggin' it up. I've already done some shuffling. Cycled out Zweilous, Chesnaught, Golurk for Toxicroak, Trevenant, Flygon.
OK, I'm on my way to the E4, haven't done the Global Link yet. What's involved? Do I have to sign up at a website for an account with a username and password? I'd like to be able to retrieve the team art myself once I beat the E4.Finished the main campaing.

Also, does it create new art every time you beat the E4 and get registered in the Hall of Fame? It'd be fun to see different team combinations together.
I made the mistake of going to Smogon yesterday, to see what people were saying about the new battle changes and such. Sheesh. Apparently every Pokémon sucks. That place drains the will to use anything that's not the most powerful thing. No matter what Pokémon you mention, the responses are like, "No way! X Pokemon can 2hko that Pokemon y with stab life orb z. Pokemon y sucks.". >_>
I think I'll just stick to the non-competitive scene...
Would weather damage from Hail or Sandstorm that kills both Pokémon work? Or would that be considered a win for whatever team caused the weather?you don't?
Malamar is the ultimate Aegislash check. Its respectable bulk means it can take a hit, and then Contrary allows it to strike King's Shield and boost its Attack by two stages instead of lowering its Attack. With the Chesto-Rest combo it gets effectively a Full Restore without Sleep and can keep hitting Aegislash with Night Slash. Alternatively you can gamble on Sleep Talk triggering an attack during Rest. My only misgiving about the latter is every Malamar will have Superpower (120BP, 100% accurate) since with Contrary you boost Attack and Defense rather than lowering them, but being a Fighting-type move it would fly right through Aegislash if selected. But stick with Night Slash and the Attack boosts from Contrary King's Shield and you're golden. In addition, Topsy-Turvy can reverse every Swords Dance performed by Aegislash, lowering its Attack by two stages instead of raising it.So I was browsing the competitive forums and looking through some battles that people have posted online and came away with two things:
First, Aegislash looks like it's dominating the early game so far. It really is too good but it presents a fun guessing game. BUT I think I might know the answer to checking it. Pyroar kinda sucks overall, but I think it acts as a pretty hard counter to the swordshield since it can't get hit by priority shadow sneak and can hit back with Fire Blast without having to worry about King's Shield lowering its attack. Which means Pyroar is useful, sorta. Any excuse to use that mane though.

I would gladly take one if there are any still available, thanks!

Oh man I will take one if you are still giving it away!
I don't think I have anything to give you unfortunately.
Where can you check IVs again?
FC 1075-0682-7601
Can I just have a protean froakie? I don't care much about nature or IVs right now I just want one with the ability. I'm not at home nor do I have my 3ds with me at the moment. Could you just save one with the ability please? I'll send you a PM when I get home if you're still willing to give me one.
Pretty please! My FC is 3368-1491-9576. I won't be able to add you until later (4 hours from now) but I'd love one if you still have. Thank you very much.
Also, venting my frustration with the RNG: Two fishing chains of over 50 and one of over 90, and no shinies...and the shiny isn't even meant to me, but to be given as a gift! Seriously...
O_O
I would like one if one is still available by the time you see this.

Is this thing still on? I'd like one.
Dat Malamar love. People finally starting to appreciate him.Malamar is the ultimate Aegislash check. Of course they'll use King's Shield. It's the only way people know how to play Aegislash.on the other hand if it never uses King's Shield you're stuck using unboosted Night Slashes
Unless you were able to boost your Attack and Defense with Contrary Superpower prior to Aegislash's appearance. But yeah, if you're using Malamar strictly as an Aegislash check, chances are you rolled him out once Aegislash appeared. He's decently strong with Attack EV investment. Also, if the enemy Aegislash is using Swords Dance, Topsy-Turvy can diminish his Attack power rather than raise it. Also remember: STAB Night Slash is SE against Ghost-type.on the other hand if it never uses King's Shield you're stuck using unboosted Night Slashes
not gonna do calcs, but I'm pretty sure Sacred Sword wrecks Pyroar
Okay so... ummm... how do I get a Zubat with Infiltrator?
Asking again; What's a good competitive moveset for Heliolisk?

EDIT: ...but weak against Steel. I guess Night Slash only hits for neutral damage then.
Ah, excellent, I will edit my post accordingly.Maybe something like Volt Switch/Grass Knot/Surf/Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Fire or Ice?
Night Slash is super effective, as Steel doesn't resist Dark anymore.
Gotta find one in a Zubat horde.
Yeah, but Aegislash is slow and its special defense isn't great in Sword Form, so Pyroar will attack before Aegislash can use Sacred Sword. I'm pretty sure Fire Blast will 1-2HKO it in Shield Form also. Aegislash will be forced to use King's Shield or will have to switch out if it doesn't want to die.

Yeah. Discussions can get pretty negative, but they'll eventually put up an analysis for every single (fully evolved) Pokemon. They'll poke fun at some of the worst ones, but for the most part they do a good job of finding ways to utilize whatever tools it has, along with how to support it to help get around it's problems. Also, while a lot of Smogon posters are pretty negative on things generally, don't be dissuaded to use Pokemon you like in a competitive scene. Everything works, you just have to figure out how and play well. Sometimes you're dudes will be outclassed, and sometimes you'll lose just because. But its all for fun, so use who you like. #Arcanine4Lyfe
Why not an Aggron and Haxorus?4 badges in, finally have my team set..... 1 from each Region

What is the best way to get Xerneas/Yveltal across the GTS. Everytime I manage to get a pokemon I think is in demand, there are no trades wanting them.

And while a lot of Smogon's analysis of Pokemon are pretty good in any context, they often disregard certain threats or opportunities that wouldn't arise in in sims running their own metagame. A lot of things work differently on cart just because certain things they're capable of banning are running rampant on Nintendo servers.
This freaking game...![]()
Hatches 400+ chespins eggs via masuda in hopes of a shiny one. No luck
Starts breeding protean froakie for fun.

Crit(ical) capture, introduced in Gen V.Is it normal that I caught a Pokemon in one "shake"?
Normally it takes three shakes of a PokeBall to catch it, it happened in one shake, lol.
Critical Capture. Happens more often the more Pokemon you've caught. It can still fail to catch the Pokemon, but only very rarely (it's never happened to me).Is it normal that I caught a Pokemon in one "shake"?

I run Shadow Sneak on my otherwise Special Greninja purely for mindgames, super fun.I really think Protean Greninja is one of the most exciting Pokemon right now. A bit frail, yes, but out-speeding Starmie with an ability that makes it a pure type of the move it uses, right before it uses the move, guarantees STAB on every hit and allows you access to four or more immunities. The ming-games, man. Someone going to target your Water-type with an Electric-type? Use Spikes and become Ground-type. Someone going to target your Dark-type with a Fighting-type move? Use Shadow Sneak for priority, become Ghost and hit first, then laugh as their Fighting move phases through you. Oh man.
I always joke that smogon bans anything and everything they're not comfortable with. They're the ultimate scrubs.

haha no, just because saying it makes you feel better doesn't make it true
critical capture, helpful on legendaries!
