Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Welcome to my nightmare, and yes mine are sometimes unresponsive, I will be picking up the 2k for trigger intensive games or hold out for a 3k if it ever makes it that far.

I see new images, but i'm still hesitant about the Vita 2000. I mean, the og model shell use the same material as some high end smartphone, that thing that make it look like crystal. You look at it and you cannot help but think it's soooo good.

With the new model, I don't have that feeling. It's just a normal plastic. Some colors look sexy, but the black seems like a cheap knock-off.

Still, if I see that my Vita is in a bad shape when the 2000 is released over here (I'm treating it with as much love as I can, though) i'll went to Gamestop and trade it in. I love my OLED Vita, but there are some dudes that scare me with that burn-in bullshit.

Vita 2K looks hot in this pic.
Seriously considering upgrading to one for the battery life alone. It being a little thiner and looking nice helps, too.

New member in the Vita bandwagon, get the console with dragon's crown... Really really awesome game.

I have $60 in the store, and i need help gaf, is the NGS+ NGS2+ bundle worth for 59.99?

But you've played P4G, right? Right?!

Play all the purse owners (didn't finish the 1st one though)

P3 is personally my favorite followed by the P2 duology.

I like P4/P4G, but I personally don't herald it as the greatest JRPG to grace the Earth like some peeps do.

To each own

I'll agree with you there, on P4G at least.
It's a really solid game.
And it's one of my favorite JRPGs in recent years. Then again I haven't played a lot of JRPGs in recent years.

P3P is on my list to play, but it will probably slot in behind some other JRPGs first. Maybe P3S will exist by the time I get around to it and I can just buy/platinum that instead... :D
Next up is probably FFXIII-2, actually. Followed by Ni No Kuni, in all likelihood.

^ screenshot/photo sharing? Would be unreal (if it wasn't just an icon change)

I'm with frost, Valentus. Also, welcome and enjoy :)

I'm a little worried that I shouldn't have preordered this. :/

Hmm I'm iffy/worried too...but if it shows up on the store through search I'll be buying it if I can :) Already past midnight here but no luck(?) so far.

Peff (batman gaf impression poster) didn't mention anything about new game plus either... maybe there will be a hard mode. The rest of the game sounds okay but most of it will be the combat if I'm not mistaken.

--edit, there is new game plus but doesn't affect difficulty, no hard mode :(

I'd skip FFXIII-2 if I was you.....just sayin.

It's not like Project Diva at all. There's no rhythm gameplay.

Since idol games aren't a thing in the west, the closest comparison would be a visual novel where, depending on the choices you make, you raise different stats. You need to manage time and schedules for optimum point distribution. Higher stats mean better performances during concerts.

IM@S has rhythm game segments during its concerts, but Neptune gives you control of the camera and special effects. It's not quite as interactive as IM@S, but you are the producer after all.
Sound a little like Princess Maker without the combat.

Well... I hear good things.
I especially want to play it and get it out of my backlog so I can have a clean slate for the FFXIII series when I see Lightning Returns go on sale for cheap. :)
I appreciate the thought, though.

Quick question to gauge your tastes in FF games:

What do you think of FFX, FFXII, and FFXIII?

Gaf batman impressions:

Vita I think, seems a bit easy combat wise.

Technically the Arkham games are easy in terms of combat -- they don't get even remotely difficult unless it's on hard or you're later in the game against big groups with the shields and stun rods and batons. Easy to play, hard to master.

Destiny of Spirits seems like a Puzzle & Dragons clone based on what I've played so far. You make a party of 6 monsters, each of which has its own cost, and your party is limited by a total cost. All party members have active skills that you can use in battle once you have enough SP. The leader of the party has its own support skill that is active in battles. During battles, you pick can bring a friend's leader to use in that battle (along with its active and support skills). The biggest difference is that the battles are all ATB-based like in Final Fantasy IV instead of the match-3 system in P&D.

Basically, it's Puzzle & Dragons without puzzles. This is a good thing.

Did anyone else get this Destiny of Spirits email?

For AU it just appears in the store as a PS+ freebie. I wonder why they don't do that for all regions?

So far it's enjoyable though, pretty much exactly what I expected it to be. There is a store but it's greyed out right now. I hope they are able to balance it around not being required to spend too much/any money. My PSN ID is in my profile if anybody wants to add me. Although the game has a different friends list to your PSN friends list, so I'm not really sure how that will work.

Also I got a Kuro

I'm actually quite enjoying destiny of spirits even if it's not my favourite genre, pretty surprised!

Yes I know what you mean, I was still able to enjoy it like that too...I was trying to lay it softly but he says 'EXTREMELY' easy and no hard mode (with new game+ not affecting difficulty). I watched this video linked on that thread as well and it does still seem fun, even if not much combat was shown there. I want it. Just not sure if I should be in the red for it :P

Someone hook up with a destiny of spirits key please.

And Vita 2000 still looks bad too me

not my pic

Yea it's bad and the screen look like it have the 3DS XL infamous yellow tint.

oh well, seeing how Sony is switching to Triluminos on their TV and phones maybe Vita 3000 next year will have a Triluminos display like the Xperia Z1.

Does that come with a key?
I like Amano art, but I have a problem figuring out which is which. :)

I see you're a Vaan hater. I can't abide that. :P

Looks like:

Didn't include the mmos.

What is it about FF12 that people hate it so much? I mean, I swear sometimes I see more FF12 hate than FF13 hate.

I like XII, I just don't like Vaan

As a PS Plus member you get first dibs on the Destiny of Spirits beta.

Destiny of Spirits™ players from around the world work cooperatively in turn-based action to battle fierce bosses to unlock an expansive virtual world. .

Seems to be the same deal as the Killzone Beta on NA, you receive the code by email rather than just being on the store like in EU.

So check your email folders people, downloading now..

I love FFXII. I can't hate any game that brought us Balthier and Fran.

It's my favorite of the PS2 FFs. IX is my favorite of the PS1 FFs. VI is my favorite of the SNES FFs, and I'm torn between Dissidia 012 and Crisis Core for the PSP. I love FF Tactixs, but that game kicked my ass back then, and I never got past this one fight because my mc wasn't the right build.

I saw someone asking but didn't see a response.

Does anyone know when AO: Blackgate is releasing today?

Edit: Meant tomorrow on the PS store.

Oh according to XSeed, no current plans to release VK3 in Aus/NZ and probably for any other releases, as they are still trying to establish themselves here. Sometimes I hate myself for sticking with my AU PSN. I guess I can import from NA though.

If they ever allow region switching, I'm choosing a EU country.

Hahaha, not sure what's not to like. Vaan is better than a good majority of the party characters in XII. And since they're all just programmable robot dummies who can learn anything, you don't even really have a reason to use more than the 3 you like most. For me that was Fran, Vaan, Balthier. The other 3 (Bausch?, Girl who I forgot, Penelo?) just rotted on my bench.

Just for reference, not to start a thing...
Great: FF4, FF7, FF8, FF9, FF13
Good: FF6, FF
Average: FF12, FF3
Not Good: FF5, FF2

I do not like FF10 overall. I loathe the story, I loathe the mini games, I loathe the linearity. But it has the Sphere Grid and a great party/combat system. So I'm not sure where it slots in... :\

I do very few PSN purchases but PS+ should be the only distinction. They stopped sending me Weekly Updates on July 11, a Rachet ad on July 15, and a Killzone Early Access email on Aug 17, which was the last email I've gotten.

Maybe I'll get one late else it'll just be another for the list of promotions I'm excluded from for seemingly no reason. Wish I could just go to the PS+ Store section and grab it, I don't get their obsession with broken email promotions :x
