Improve. If both parents have perfect in one stat, then if it chooses to give the new poke that stat, it's guaranteed to be perfect.

EDIT: Of course this may mess up the nature and ability if the pokes don't already have those correct.

Well the Dratini has HP/Atk/Def/SpDef, and the Ditto has SpAtk/Spd. Since I don't really care about Spd at all, would it be more advantageous to use a Ditto with other perfect IV's? Like say, Atk/Def/SpAtk? Or just use that 4 perfect IV Ditto I mentioned and increase my IV pool?

And yeah, my Dratini is Brave with Marvel Scale, holding an Everstone. The Ditto is holding the Destiny knot.

This is my first time to breed pokemon, and I'm so close to the finish line for this Dratini I can see it lol.

Holy shit.

Should I use my Masterball?? >_>

Well in my experience in X/Y so far, it's better to have some of the same perfect stats mixing with different perfect stats.

Let's say I want a 5 perfect pkmn with 31 in HP/A/D/SD/SP

If I have a 4 perfect pkmn with HP/A/D/SD but not Speed

And I have another 4 perfect with A/D/SD/SP but not HP

It should really increase my chances of getting the 5 perfect because EVERY time the game takes Attack, Defense, or Sp. Defense from the parents it's guaranteed perfect. So you will almost always get those ones, while waiting for the other two (Hp and Speed) to be taken from the proper parent.

Should increase your odds.

That makes sense to me! Thanks for your help! :D I'll go give it a whirl and see if lady luck is on my side tonight.

I half want hack out a shiny Imposter Ditto on B/W with perfect HP IVs for random ditto spam.
Edit: Lol then I'd get a Wobbuffet and then a Smeargle for online trolling.

I used a masterball since I had no quickballs. I named him Doppel :P

Second shiny I've ever found/caught, the first one being a Shiny Misdreavus a few games ago.

Wow, I just had my first Ranked Battle, and my Greninja sweeped (is this even a word) the other guy's team easily. It was pretty sad. The guy wasn't even able to attack.

Code for whoever wants to see, it's pretty boring: WBQG-WWWW-WWWX-TBDW

Anyone know how Noivern learns Draco Meteor?

Talk to that Dragon Master guy. I think he is on Route 21 (the one that leads up to Victory Road from that snow town).

Aw yiss, today is my lucky day.

I Masuda Methoded this bad boy. I believe in the Masuda Method. The parents were a JPN Gible acquired through wonder trade and a Gabite from someone's safari. It took 30 eggs to get him.

I know shiny Garchomp isn't too different from the normal, but still!

His IVs aren't too awesome. 31 in HP, Speed, and SpA. I'll still use it.

I did manage to breed a 31/X/31/31/31/31 Gible, though. I'm going for perfection, so I'm not done just yet.

Bonus kawaii:

Can someone explain the meta game to me? Do you super train and then breed for desired results based on nature and such? I'm overwhelmed by it all.

That's the process of making the team, but the actual metagame is a bit more involved than that.

And to be honest, I couldn't really begin to tell you where to look.

You forgot two Ws but I figured it since my video had a ton of Ws as well. DAT PROTEAN!

The metagame is more like: stealth rock, earthquake, mega blaziken.

Jokes aside, breeding is only for getting stats and moves you want. The rest lies on a team which can revolve around setting traps, status ailments, walling physical or special damage, a sweeper which is designed to plow through teams with sheer damage, and then trying to fight out for type advantage.

I couldn't figure out how to link the image url into this post without it being a gigantic size, at least in the preview of the post.. but here's the link to the image itself. It's an awesome guide for IV breeding, EV training, and all that jazz! :)

Also, here is a guide for breeding that really helped me get started!

Hope I helped ya out! I know it's not quite explaining it directly lol. :p

Pokemon have 4 things that affect their stats. They have their base stats, the values intrinsic to every member of the species. They have their Nature, which raises and lowers certain stats. They have Individual Values(IVs) that are generated at the time you catch them/get their egg. Those vary from pokemon to pokemon and you can't change them once you get the pokemon. They can only be affected by breeding. Finally, you have Effort Values (EVs). These are points you get in certain stats by super training and battling pokemon.

If you're going for perfect, here's the way I go about it. Decide what you're going to breed. Figure out what moves you need, how you need to get those, and what nature is best suited to your build. From that, decided what 5 stats you want perfect IVs in. With the destiny knot, you can only control 5 of the 6 stats. From their, make sure you have all the right parents. Make sure you have a parent with the right nature and parents with all the perfect IVs you want. Also, make sure if the moves you want are only available by breeding are on the parents. Here's the order I go in terms of breeding. I breed for moves first if needed, then I go for nature and finally for IVs. I find this is the quickest way to handle things.

After you breed is when you battle and super train for the EVs you need. What you need depends heavily on what you're building the pokemon for. I suggest you look at builds on places like Smogon to get you started. They have great builds for all the pre-gen VI stuff on the main site and the users have put many awesome builds for gen Vi mons on the forums. After you start getting a handle on how to play, you can start tweaking builds to your specific needs.

Hey guys, breeding question. I literally just started breeding Honedge. Paired it up with a Ditto that has x/31/31/31/x/31. Got a Honedge with 31/31/31/0/x/x. Other than being completely shocked at how lucky I am, I really want to be sure of what to do next.

I have another Ditto with 31/31/x/x/31/x. Destiny Knot it with the Honedge I just bred?

I'll ask again. I need assistance in evolving my Scyther to a Scizor if possible.

FC is : 4596-9552-5013

Nick in game is Miko

This is my first pokemon since R/B/Y. I'm halfway through the game and my main group is approaching lvl 50. I've been mostly just doing PvE so far, but now I want to start getting into PvP. Any tips for a PvP beginner?
