Poke-Aime is for leveling up your affection; You do this by feeding them pokepuffs, petting them, and playing games with them. As a general rule you'll want to cycle through these actions. Feed til they are full. Pet til they don't give hearts. Then play a mini-game or two. Leveling up affection can evolve certain pokemon and give benefits in battle.

Super training is a way to "EV" train. That is, focus more stat points in certain areas. You complete minigames to gain points in desired traits. Generally you want to focus on two that are good choices for your particular pokemon (Attack on a physical attacker, etc). Each stat can have a max of 252ish and you can generally max two stats.
 
Pokemon should do housing next. I loved the room aspect of Gold and Silver and the secret bases of Ruby and Sapphire, Seeing that gold Milotic statue makes want have my own Pokemon cribs.

Beat the game! And no casualties -- I managed to one-shot most of the E4 and the Champion, despite most of my 'mons being under-leveled. Some smart maneuvering with the type matchups, physical vs. special, etc. Malamar killed half of the Champion's team with Contrary Superpower! :O

I seriously had tears in my eyes for the whole ending sequence, from your Pokémon surrounding you in the Hall of Fame, to the celebration in the city, to the resolution with a certain character, to the credits theme with the song lyrics in multiple languages (English and French at first, then adding other languages with the whole "we are one" theme).

Call me a softy, but it all hit me hard. So good. ;_;

Damn RNG hates me. Been running around Glittering Cave for 45 minutes trying to find a Kangaskhan and nothing. Fun catching everything else I can in the cave but I want Kangaskhan :(

edit: The old whine to GAF method of getting what I want works again! :)

Vine Whip is physical which means it takes into account your pokemon Attack stat and your opponents Defence, if it was a special attack it would use your Pokemons Special Attack and your opponents Special Defence.

Nope, it's something you want to know. Attacks are split between physical and special. When you check out a move, it'll have either a red star (physical) or blue circles (special). Physical attacks do damage based on your attack stat and the opponent's defense. Special attacks are the opposite, your s. attack and their s. defense.

Woah! First time I used Super Training to fully EV train a Pokemon from scratch and its really really fast! After using vitamins, you literally start EV training even at Level 1. Add also that the more EVs the Pokemon has, the faster the training will be because it can get more points per hit during the training. Theres also Training Bags so its even faster.

Go to the summary page for your Pokémon and look at its list of moves. Notice how some moves have a orange-and-yellow starburst icon, and others have a silver ring?

physical.png
= Physical move. Physical moves are powered by the Attack stat. The Defense stat shows how well a Pokémon can resist physical attacks.

special.png
= Special move. Special moves are powered by the Special Attack stat. The Special Defense stat shows how well a Pokémon can resist special attacks.

Vine Whip is physical. So the stronger your Attack stat, the stronger Vine Whip will be. The weaker your enemy's Defense stat, the more damage they'll take from it.

Some Pokémon have strong Defense but weak Special Defense, and vice-versa. And some Pokémon are strong physical attackers but weak special attackers.

It would be awesome if the house you came out of in the starting town was customizable throughout the game. Hell maybe you could even move between cities.
 
Wonder Trade never ceases to amaze. I received a Kecleon tonight with a racial slur for a nickname. I couldn't bring myself to re-trade it. It was ironic though, releasing it to the wild; I felt like I was freeing a slave. Pokemon literally said "Bye-bye, n*****!"
 
Goddamn random passerbys challenging me to none level capped battles with a lvl 98 yvetel.

No one is going to have fun with that.
 
Asking here again: Anyone with a modest Dryskin Helioptile? A Contrary Inkay with max speed IVs would be cool too. I can offer to breed every starter except for Squirtle.

It should be noted that some moves such as Psyshock despite relying on the users spacial attack target the opponent's defense, not their spacial defense.
 
I have a feeling it will be a long day to get a reasonable Yveltal. Its nice that 3 IVs are perfect but (stuff after that battle)
a trainer battle right after...and you can't check natures in battle! On the flipside sometimes from the battle stats I can guess nature. Also capture level 3 has not made the quick ball fail yet (and even if it does Aurorus can Thunder Wave+2xAncient power to bring it down to premier ball being reliable).

Sometimes the nicknames can be amusing though like the time I got Diabetes the Slurpuff on GTS...I should have given it the Pokerus (I traded it; for Perfume the Aromatisse). I guess it is like streetpass in general, many people are very nice but you have one of two Hitlers...

Has anyone here tried out either Avalugg or Eviolite Bergmite? I really love their designs and bulk, but that Sp.D and typing is so bad... =/
 
Played my first online match after a person I wonder traded with challanged me, and they proceeded to disconnect after I killed a few of their pokemon. Rather than being angry I decided to shower them with 0-powers.

Yeah, it really sucks how weak its spacial defense is, its type doesn't have much physical moves so it won't make much use of STAB, and its abilities aren't really the best. Sturdy isn't useful because there aren't a lot of pokemon that can 1HKO it unless you intentionally leave it with weak SP.def, and Ice body required a hail team to make the best of, unless you plan on using hail only for Avalugg. Own Tempo is pretty useless, too.
 
Does the game save in the SD card or in the cartridge if you have a physical copy? I have the game but no 3DS yet, but I'm able to borrow one every now and then

Yeah. I think I'll just go with Mega Aggron instead for my bulky wall... which sucks, since Bergmite is one of my favorites this gen.

I really wish Game Freak would've given Ice a defensive buff this gen. Four weaknesses with only one resistance? Hail is also worthless, and freezing is incredibly rare. It's one of my favorite Pokémon types, but sheesh.
 
I'm still looking for a Metal Coat from someone so I can evolve my perfect IV Scyther into Scizor. Does anyone have one they can spare?

I can compensate with a Scizor if you're concerned about your Pokedex completion.
 
So... maybe 2/3 of the way through the story (I like to take it slow) and I'm running Talonflame, Alakazam, Blastoise, Pangoro, Chesnaught.

What's the biggest flaw I need to fill in? Obviously I'm not focused on anything competitive yet. This is just for fun. I wanna fill in the last slot and train 1 or 2 substitutes, since I probably don't need 3 tanks on my team all the time.

I suppose a dragon and a fairy are the obvious choices here, aren't they?
