So does GAF love or hate First Class, because I saw it for the first time on FX a few weeks ago, and I thought it was interesting. Felt more like a drama and less of comic-y.

This is going to be a train wreck with most of them being on the screen for 5 seconds.

It wasn't a train-wreck in any of the previous X-men films that Singer was involved in, don't see why it would be a problem here. The guy knows how to work with ensemble casts.

Wait for the uncut version. The theatrical version is kind of an editing mess.

Good to hear. I enjoyed The Wolverine, but there were problems with it that seemed to come down the editing and the like. It does feel like a true Wolverine film though. The best representation of the character thus far.

Bryan Singer's solution to fix X3 in our memories by not even acknowledging it in this movie. LOL
It's not like theyre completly ignoring it. Cyclops is dead, Ellen Page is playing Kitty, and Singer said they are going to address how the Proffesor is still alive after he died in X3. Hopefully by the end of it though the timeline is rebooted or whatever.

He is. He's directly said he'll be writing X3 and the first Wolvie movie out of continuity.

Absolutely not. In fact he said he considers both of those to be canonical.

After all of the casting announcements for the film, many have speculated that the film will not acknowledge the events of X-Men: The Last Stand or X-Men Origilns: Wolverine due to continuity issues, but Singer says every film in the series is being considered canon.

"I’m taking into account every movie – I’m not just grabbing my first two movies and First Class and smashing them together. I’m taking into account the entire universe as it’s been laid out so far on the screen, and really respecting it and trying to work with that. People took things in various directions, so there’s some clean-up. But ultimately I’m not just ignoring them either."

Movie Cyclops was laughably bad. I don't know if it was miscasting or writers trying to make Wolverine more badass, but it sucked.

Did the previous actress playing Mystique look a lot better, or am I remembering wrong?
If you're talking about the makeup/effect then yeah, kinda. For this movie, Jennifer is wearing a bodysuit most of the time since it was faster than having to paint her blue and apply all those scales every single day.

Where the fuck is Halle
She's in it, there are set photos and she's even in that quick vine video from yesterday.

So basically he has the opportunity to address them directly in the movie, and then continue to the events after X2 as if X3 and XO:Wolverine never happened. Basically writing those events out ongoing continuity.

well hopefully that's what he does, and then X-4 is what X3 was supposed to be.
which also leads to X-Force and hopefully Deadpool.

I would also love a Multiple man movie/tv-show too if possible. He was criminally underused in X3.

Unless this film brings Jean Grey and Cyclops back to the world of the living, like it will do with Xavier actually, (and so far we haven't heard anything like that, but maybe it's a very well kept secret..) no matter how you see it he is not really writing X-3 out of continuity.

Anyway I expect future films, if any, to continue with/focus on the "young" cast. I don't think we'll see an X-4/focused on the "older" cast movie.

Outside of that godawful Banshee and Angel fight scene (one of the worst things of all time), the movie was pretty sublime.

First Class is my favorite X-Men movie, mostly because i dislike how Wolverine overshadows everything in the trilogy.

How can they be all canon?

Mystique of X1/X2/X3 is nothing like First Class Mystique. And I'm not talking about physical traits but FC Mystique is attached to Xavier and X1/2/3 Mystique is not (tries to kill him in fact).

Or this is some sort of parallel world scenario?

Well there's a whole 40 year gap of them being enemies. Plus, she's clearly moved on to Erik by the end of FC.

Easiest answer: Because X1/X2/X3 were written way before the plot and relationships between First Class were ever considered. Just consider the movies loosely canon as the director seems to be doing.
