We're expected strong 80-90mph winds and torrential rain of 30mm and possible flood warnings.

Country has been placed on the red alert with the South to take most of the damage.

Prepare guys, and keep safe! This'll be my first time in the eye of a storm.

30mm in a short period can lead to some flash flooding. Those winds are fairly strong too - expect to lose some roofs and fallen trees.

Saying that, a lot of these warnings are worst case and it probably won't be that bad.

It's not everyday, or even yearly weather here.

That said I don't see anything to suggest this will be worse than the 1987 storm. Currently there are only 'amber' weather alerts and no red ones for example, and the predicted wind speeds are barely 90mph.

Yep. A lot of trees aren't often tested by high winds and they come down. Also roof tiles everywhere.
