Can manabyte be unbanned at this point? Seems like he was perma banned my amirox a few years ago. I remember him a little, i think he was a cool poster and not a fanboy

I find Gaf harder to follow. almost everyone is speaking in sarcasm, plus I'm new and there are like thousands members. I cant keep track of who is a sony guy or an xbox guy. who is a reliable source and who i shouldnt trust.

like recently i just found out that Cboat is the man on here apparently.

GAF treats anything that fucks over the consumer with equal disdain.
If Sony does something stupid, they will be torn apart. MS has done the lion's share of fuck ups this year, which is why there's a whole load of pessimism directed towards them.

Thanks Gaf, pre-order cancelled. Looks like I'll take that $100 I put down for the x1 and get bf4 plus several indies. Those plus contrast and Knack will make for a great time!

As weird as it sounds, I'm actually relieved about fully committing to the ps4. Having an x1 preordered was so nerve wracking.

Really?

I mean, you're going to cancel your pre-order over what is still a rumor? It's your choice, but that seems odd to me.

I don't really get the console fan boy mentality. Why aren't people just loyal to themselves first and foremost. Buy whatever is the best investment. Buy what gives you the most value for your dollar. I understand that for some, they the love the first party Xbox titles so much they can't be without them (even if the system has some serious technical problems we haven't heard yet). But damn. I would think this news would make even the biggest fans of that system pause, and consider canceling their pre-order.

Seems insane to actually invest in something that could potentially have a lot of problems. This would have gone for the PS4 if it had the same issues. The system/brand doesn't matter.

But 1080p is a moving target. The xbone is perfectly capable of running native 1080p games. It's just that it can't run native 1080p games that are doing all the other things devs are wanting to do on the PS4 (or PC, I guess).

Resolution and framerate are two things that are very easily changed between versions of a game, so when one machine is noticeably more powerful than another these are the areas where you expect differences (also AA). This is just like how the PS3 often had a noticeably worse framerate than the 360 in multiplatform games. What you're saying here is that the xbone not being just about as capable as the PS4 is "lazy and disappointing". And, I don't know, maybe MS screwed up somewhere along the way, but their ability to hit 1080p consistently was always going to depend on what Sony was doing and on what devs were interested in using scarce system resources for.

Not sure what your point is here. It's very simple. XBONE can't do 1080p for the same game that PS4 can. What does that tell you? Anything but battleship sunk would be wrong.

Not sure if he's being serious, or sarcastic with that? I mean, is he saying that's why they're doing it, or that MS would never do such a thing?

I think he is referring that the only reason why MS is holding back reviews so people won't cancel their preorder is stupid. That it's not hard to cancel it before the console launches

Is he referring to Gies, then??

You head the man Bish, think of your family!

The former, the bottom tweet was the first posted.

He is saying MS have the embargo as late because they don't think people will cancel 10 days from launch.

Is this true? No one can preorders before 10 days? or maybe it's sarcasm?

I think he's citing that the reason they're holding back any "bad news" might mean it could be something that makes users cancel their orders. His sarcastic quote response to himself seems to be highlighting that when whatever it was comes out, if it's really bad, that won't stop people from cancelling, and that it would be foolish for it to come out before the system launches. That could be the eyeroll thing Arthur finds with the process, or the potential meteor strike CBOAT has implied..

At least, that's what I inferred. If that is indeed the case, and I say this as someone who feels consumers should be informed...this information better come out before launch. All of it.

I don't understand what could be so awful that would make the faithful cancel their pre-orders. Were they unable to remove the always-online stuff or something?

The sad part about this entire thread is if Microsoft had priced this unit correctly we probably wouldn't even be having this debate.

It's $100 more... for less power and more BS. Smh.

Maybe you know, he likes the Xbox One? Not everyone like the games that Sony puts out, Some people prefer Microsoft's Offerings. All People are different.

*SHOCKER*

Defending obvious shortcomings is one thing.

Preferring different exclusives is another.

I myself would prefer KI in 1080p regardless of the system.

It's a good reason to wait for all systems to mature. One year in, price cuts and bundles are the prefect time to invest really.

These potentially bigger problems being hinted are really frustrating for someone who wants to play Xbox One exclusives and doesn't care about the console war bullshit.

ugh

I'm sure nobody will read this, but was there a change in the corp structure or division autonomy between xbox/xbox 360 and the xbox one? I mean, for all the faults of the xbox/360 they seemed to at least have the core idea together.

I know people have posted about how they were blindsided by the PS4's announcement/tech leapfrog, but I'm curious about the business end of things, if that's even known at this point.

Well, MS did have a very clear idea for what they wanted the XONE to be, but there was a HUGE backlash to it and they had to pretty much scrap a vast majority of it.

Said it before, but the DF Faceoffs are going to make this totally worth it. Can't wait to see how little practical difference there is over PS360U.

It's the product of corporate meddling and a rushed product at this point. I can't imagine some developers being very happy about it, especially when their tools are still a mess as well.

With the need for the XB1 to support Kinect, Windows 8, NuAds, and Snapping apps with fast switching, I believe I have stumbled upon secret video footage which documents how Microsoft's management crafted the masterpiece that is the Xbox One.

Just as long as there are no RROD kind of issues then it's not really a huge concern because that would be a disaster. I think that there just may be a lot of technical and infrastructure issues that could harm the good experience that Live and the OS is known to deliver.

I think mods and CBOAT have said enough to let you know you are paying $499 for a rushed, unstable product,

people reading this thread insisting on buying a X1 at launch and then being upset when all sorts of issues appear, ranging from RRODs to minor technical stuff, have nobody to blame but themselves. They've been warned,

I wished I had read the internet more carefully when I bought that piece of shit hardware, the first 360 model back in 2007
