Disgusting Trayvon Martin halloween costume... what is wrong with people?

I have no sympathy for idiots doing shit like this.

It's been non stop now since Obama's reelection. That just sent certain folk over the edge and they obviously don't give a fuck who knows they're bitter idiotic racists. You want to post that filth up on the internet then you've got to feel the consequences of people reacting negatively to it. And letting them know.

Just like those idiots who thought calling Obama variations of "ape" and "nigger" on twitter and FB when he won relection was fine. before they copped pleas saying they weren't racist and were letting off steam. You want to complain about him as a politician? go ahead. But the main gripe for so many of these people was his ethnicity.

These people have to learn the internet is not their private little playground. And they will be challenged.

I don't see how you can dress up like that... I'm so happy I have no racism or prejudice inside me. Can't imagine having the mind frame of some of these people.

The response that most of GAF has given makes me happy.

You've just got to love the codeword 'thug'

Comments like these really mess with the "Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory", because Facebook-linked comments have removed the anonymity from the equation. I just don't understand how people can represent themselves like that.

Hahahaha. That Paul Evans guy got disqualified in finding racism because he lives in an area that is 80% white. Hahaha. That's hilarious.

Her joke will be even funnier when potential employers look at her facebook. Even if she deletes it someone will archive it. The internet never truly forgets.

All this talk about their real names, addresses and so on. If they receive physical threats then that only serves as legitimization for this "people who side with Trayvon are a bunch of thugs, just like most African Americans" - mindset.

It's not even clever and that'll be a nice thing to see when prospective employers find that. Of course, with the mentality here I'm thinking stock person is about as good as it gets for them and Wal-Mart isn't that picky.

Edit: Ha! I didn't even see that she was fired. I was right.

Title says it all.

What's wrong with people? Fucking disgusting.

The theory needs to be updated. People really believe that as long as they're behind their keyboards, they're safe to pop off in whatever way they want. Even with their real name attached.

What did you think of the Steve Irwin costumes a few years back?

Making fun of an innocent person dying is never okay.

Also, I believe it should be illegal to fire someone from their job for something they do in their own personal time, but whatever. I don't like it that employers have grown so much more invasive with the prevalence of social media.

People are hypocrites. Most people laughed when South Park mocked Steve Irwin's death and when people dressed up as him, but then they go off the rails with outrage over this?

It doesn't bother me. I wouldn't do it, as I feel it's insensitive, making light of a tragic death and will bring pain to his family, but the racial aspect of stuff like this is overblown in my opinion. My opinion was similar in the blackface thread. I'm not American though so it's a bit culturally different here.

Today I found out that Trayvon was hiding in a bush and then leaped out at Zimmerman.

That's old news. Trayvon's legend grows with racist retelling of the story. From a normal black teenager to a 7 ft 2 mandingo ninja thug who ambushed the defenseless Zimmerman while in a craze brought on by the concoction made from Skittles and sweet tea.

Did you miss the part where they are actual racists?

People were pretty upset over that and most Irwin costumes. You're revising history.

Your analogy sucks anyway, though. Millions of miles of difference between the two.

My opinon she's an idiot as is everyone else who doesn't take three seconds to google exactly what is Black Girls Rock!™

Why is it okay for there to be a slogan that says that? Because as the image you just quoted shows you. Black females in the US get shitted on so damn much by America in almost every facet of their lives. The fact the chick who's image you quoted says "your mom lied to you" is the reason shirts like that are needed; far too many people are telling black women that they aren't shit and they're starting to believe it.

Like I said in another thread regarding race treatment in general; you treat people a certain way after a while they're going to act the way you treat them which in an idiot's mind justifies treating that way.

Maybe people should revisit this thread as an example.

You have statistics for this? Many South Park's jokes fall flat on its face and often run right into the downright embarrassing and cringe-worthy valley.

I recall when it happened the response was pretty mixed. A lot of people were hurt by it but just as many could justify laughing. I just couldn't.

To me, the real issue here is the lack of compassion for the fellow man. The death was tragic and leaves behind a family that will forever be in pain. Same with Steve Irwin.

I get that for a lot of people here, the main issue is the racial component. What worries me more is the lack of compassion for humanity, regardless of skin colour.

Are you speaking for yourself? I remember quite a bit of outrage related to this too.

It's pretty cringeworthy in its own right.

People here were hardly upset. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Most people on the internet also loves these September 11 videos on youtube set to the Benny Hill theme and the Crazy Frog song. Both of those videos have a massive amount of thumbs up and very few thumbs down.

No thanks. I'd rather not allow people to think doing shit like that is ok. Want to broadcast that you're a racist idiot? Your employer has every right to distance themselves from you.
