Guys, I think there's something wrong with my game.

Warning: Post game spoilers.

Apparently the whole Looker thing is supposed to be activated once you enter Lumiose City, but nothing's happened. I haven't received a single Holo Caster message. Is there something i'm missing? Or did my game just glitch?

Did you beat your rival at
Kiloude city, which you get to by taking the lumiose train

If you haven't done that, that series of events won't activate.

Oh. Thanks for the info.

Don't forget to do the thing Mich pointed out as well, that part slipped my mind.

I'm debating giving up one of my metal coats for moltres, but don't know if it's worth it just to complete the dex. I always hated that bird out of the trio.

I did the scyther/metal coat thing last night. Woke up this morning and now I have a Xerneas. I'm a believer now! I've got another one up for Articuno. He seems less likely to get though.
What is this 'thing'? Is scyther with metal coat just really in demand on GTS right now for some reason?

So has anyone figured out how to unlock the extra music themes for VS battles? Music 5 and up. Just beating the game and fighting against someone else who has beaten it?

For the Maison, I have up to 4 but I have up to 11 in VS. I don't really know what the requirement is for unlocking them but Music 11 is the Champion theme so maybe you just have to progress through the story.

Yes. I was able to get 4 extra Xerneases a day or so ago, and I'm confident I could get more. I was first inspired by some guy on reddit via imgur who had a box of articunos. Then I saw someone in this thread mention Magnetons carry metal coats. My regional pokedex is filled :)

How many times have you done online versus? I think I only have 4 for online versus and I've completed the story.

(I didn't even know there were 11 battle themes in this game lol)

Around 10.

Edit: Ugh. Almost had the Eevee I want. Perfect IVs except in Attack and Defense, I don't care about the Attack IVs though.

I couldn't get a bird for my scyther, but I was able to go from Xerneas to bird in a matter of minutes.

Good luck!

Yeah, there's a ~1/2 chance of each player owning a Xerneas and only ~1/3 for Articuno. When you factor in that Xerneas is an in game capture pokemon, and Articuno is a post game capture pokemon, the odds stack even higher for Xerneas. I give it a couple more hours, then switch.

I've got my perfect IV Scizor, Eevee, Gible and Greninja fully EV trained. It's now just a matter of leveling and evolving them now.

It was a pain in the ass breeding them into Luxury Balls as I basically undid all my work from the last couple of days, but it was worth it!

so I'm attempting to make a Pseudo Sand team. Essentially, all these Pokes can function without Sand, but the Sand also provides benefits for them. What I have so far is:

Tyranitar@Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
Sassy Nature
252 HP/252 SpDef/ 4 Atk
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Fire Blast
- Super Power

Garchomp@Choice Band
Ability: Rough Skin
Jolly Nature
252 Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Stone Edge

Carbink@Light Clay
Ability: Sturdy
Calm Nature
88 SDef/252 HP/168 Def
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion

Mawile@Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate/Huge Power
Adamant Nature
252 HP/252 Atk/4 SpDef
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Thunder Punch

I still need something akin to a Special Sweeper and a Physical Wall, that can set up hazards or pass stuff to teammates maybe? Anyone have any ideas?

You guys are making me succumb to the IV madness. I have a great team consisting of Adamant Salamence, Timid Delphox, Timid Mewtwo, Impish Gliscor, Timid Noivern (I know 2 dragons, whatever), and a spot I've been weighing around. I have no idea what the IV's are on these guys only that Mewtwo apparently has one or two perfects and Salamence as well. It's intimidating thinking that I may as well reset all of that for more favorable IV's. How would you all recommend I get started. I never IV bred before.

So why does the battle maison ask for infrared connection? Yesterday I tried it with a friend and we had to sync(?) our 3ds with the infrared port to begin. Also, how the hell infrared works, I dont know and why dont they make it so it works like local battles?

So I thought of am amazing doubles team to troll people online. Specifically those lucario and blaziken openers.

I gotta get it ready by Halloween.

Trick-or-Troll Team

Woo, 31/x/31/31/31/31 Timid Protean Froakie.

Anyone with a non-English language file want to trade for something with similar IVs?

I have so many Aron dumpster babies with 4 IVs!

Hit me up with a pm if you want one. FC: 1607 2656 3264

I would prefer something else with 3-4 IVs, but having more friend safaris is good too.

Mainly looking for Noibat, Tyrunt, Gible, Dratini, Togepi (Female). or anything else awesome.

Edit: In game name is Jury.

What Team would that be?
The only Pokemon that really trolls others is Zoroark.

All the cool kids in the Carbink Club!

Can you evolve Eevee to Umbreon by training it in caves? It says it has to be night time, but I remember, that you could train it in caves, too, in older games.

It just needs to level up at max happiness at night. If it's a problem for you, then just change your 3DS's clock to nighttime. Don't remember caved counting as night

ARGH!

I lost on Battle #49 of Super Singles in the Battle Maison. I had two fully healed pokemon to deal with Feraligatr, but it withstood a Mega Garchomp Outrage. It then Dragon Danced and swept me clean.

First time breeder here, actually the last poke game I played was Yellow :lol

What you want to do is to first plan what you want to get, including nature and iv's. Generally you dont need the 6 perfect IV's as is really unlikely you will make a pokemon use both Special and Physical attacks, so aiming for 4 or 5 perfect IV should be fine. Depends on your strat mostly, I guess stallers wont need either special or physical attack.

Next, you really need to get to the post game and get a friend safary with either the pokemon you want or ditto. In the safari pokemons always have 2 perfect IV's so you can pass those down.

Got that? Now, you will need to get a pokemon with syncronize and the desired nature, I got a bunch of raltz with the natures I found useful and keep track of them on a excel sheet. Why we need that? because a pokemon with syncronize that starts a battle will have a 50% chance of encounter a wild pokemon of the same nature. Also you need a pokemon with flame body, like the small fire bird from the early game (he needs to evolve iirc).

I am aiming for a Modest (increases sp attack but decreases attack) Bulbasaur with as many perfect IV as possible and it must include Sp. Attack, but not Attack as I wont use that one. On top of that, I want the hidden ability.

Now, with the raltz leading the party and equiped with the smoke ball (so he can escape any battle with other mons) I ran to get a couple of ivysaurs from the safary. Got like 5-6 of them, both sex and checked the IV's with the IV checker on the same city. Selected a pair with different IV's and just put the aside.

The next step is to get em ready for the day care. You want to equip them with some hold items, the desnty knot and the everstone.
The destiny knot will make sure the mons will inherit 5 IV's at random from the parents. And the everstone will make them inherit the nature of the holder.
Put them on the day care and get eggs.

Get the eggs and put the mon with flame body in your party, eggs will hatch in half the time.

Everytime you get a new batch of mons, go and check the IV's. If you get one with the desired skill, and more than 2 perfect IV's, use it to replace the one parent on the day care so the eggs have better chances to inherit good IV's. Repeat until you start getting 4 IV's mons.

In my case, because I'm an idiot, I got my 4 perfect IV pokemon with HP, Defense, Sp Defense and Speed. But no SP attack, and that was my target! So what I'm doing now is breeding a 4 perfect IV female bulbasaur with Sp Attack, and when I get one, I'll put it together with the other one and try to aim for 5 perfect IV.

Edit: You dont have to do the same proces for each one. I will use a almost perfect male bulbasaur to be the father of my next project (asuming is in the same egg group, like a charmander), so next time it should be faster.

So...these pokemiles. Do buy items with them online only or is there an in-game location to use them?

In-game location is South Lumiouse pokemon center, but it's the same list.

Supposedly, you get better stuff online (like a discount coupon for all stores) after getting a lot of 'medals' on the online site, but no one seems to have gotten it yet, afaik.

Nah, no problem for me. I was just curious. I'm almost sure it worked in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal.

There's a Pokemon Center with a guy that sells you stuff with Pokemiles, but it's twice as expensive as going through the web storefront IIRC.

Thank you guys! Looks like I'll just go online and do the gamesync.

pretty sure I decided my 5th 'Mon will be Gliscor

Gliscor@Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Nature: Impish
252 HP/252 Def/4 Atk
- Toxic
- U - Turn
- Acrobatics/Roost(if he can learn it this gen)
- Earthquake

Essentially just a bulky physical wall

I really havn't besides NPCs. What sort of trolling would it do?

I run a Prankster set with Will-o-Wisp, Foul Play, Recover, and Taunt. You can beat any physical attacker one on one by burning it then hitting it with its own Attack stat; as all your moves other than Foul Play have priority, it's difficult to outplay and KO. I've had many opponents not catch on and keep sending physical attackers against it. Priority Confuse Ray really annoys people too, if you want to run that instead.

Its Ghost typing makes it a hilarious switch-in to High Jump Kick Blaziken, too. With prediction, you can alternate between Sableye and a Flash Fire user to beat Blaziken without taking damage.

Finished EV training my team! WOOOO! Just need to level, evolve and get them their moves :D THIS IS EXCITING

The anticipation is still building up for me. Gotta get that Excadrill. Is sand veil still looked down upon? I see that it's banned in B/W.
