Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Already did. They need an "Air bill #" which Nippon-Yassan doesn't give you. So I'll be calling them to attempt to get the air bill number that my package was sent in.

Doing the math, they claim "SAL REGISTERED" is 2-3 weeks, which I was fine waiting for the price. Today is 2 weeks in Japan since it shipped. It's been sitting at US customs for almost that long. I want some answers.

It's definitely not usual for stuff to sit over a week at customs. Hope that you get it sorted out soon.

Did anyone who ordered from Nippon-Yasan get it shipped FedEx? My order from Yes Asia hasn't arrived yet, and I'm starting to worry. I want that 64GB card ASAP, and I'm thinking FedExed N-Y may be the only option.

FedEx tends to have horrid delays when it comes to paying customs. From my experience the items will arrive at their offices within 3 days or so but will get stuck there for a week or more due to customs and paperwork. From the dealings I had to have with them they always overcharged too :/.

So I am interested in the nationality/location make-up of all the VitaPals in here. And possibly age too, if you folks don't mind divulging it.

I am a 29 years old Indonesian dude living in Indonesia. What about you folks?

I'm a 52 year old Yorkshireman in Santa Monica, California. My first video game was "Computer Space" by Nutting Associates, and I started working in an arcade the year that Space Invaders invaded. Do I win anything?

Act 5 or so on Muramasa Rebirth. This game just screams on Vita. Rock solid 60 frames per second and looks absolutely stunning on dat OLED. Loving the game too, the combat is really slick, and I have recently discovered the light weapon crafting in the game which is cool; gotta love those different swords.

Also just started Resident Evil (PlayStation) on Vita too. One of my favourite games of all time, still a beaut if you ask me. I played it through countless times as a poor college (UK) student back when it came out. Hey capcom, I am still waiting for the Resident Evil Rebirth of RE2. Imagine it on PS4 :|

^ bizarre :P

Guess I'll remember to pick up Escape Plan and Muramasa.

Oh that really sucks dude, hope it gets there soon, real pain when something you really want gets stuck. Everyone wants their Vita's to double asap!

Yep I ordered Fedex...hopefully it doesn't get stuck as well, will let you guys know when it arrives, it changed to preparing, got the email this morning. Only ordered it on friday though. come to me

I paid for the Fed Ex. Got mine like 2 weeks ago or something.

Did it take long to arrive?

LBP Vita did some competition promotion for Tearaway recently and the levels are pretty neat, especially the top 2 (team picks currently). I think they are going to have character DLC as well.

First - http://vita.lbp.me/v/f6ftr (her other levels are pretty great too) - nice level animation, will get you ready

Second - http://vita.lbp.me/v/f6kdg (less traditional level, pretty neat, could use some polish and it's a bit tough at parts but worth a play if you are excited for Tearaway)

Edit: From the Tearaway new video thread, a new video:

I hadn't seen it anyway, 11minutes, good video.

No. I pre-ordered it at the end of Novemember before it released on 10/10... shipped on a Thursday, arrived on either Monday or Tuesday.

Ah nice thank you. Hopefully they get some stock pretty soon then and it should be quick after that...although UK is a bit further. Not had the best luck with customs either.

I received mine from PlayAsia super quick via FedEx. Wasn't expecting it until November.
I've already filled it up. Have a 50-game rotation going now. (It wasn't big enough.) :(

Cannot wait.

Wow, those shots actually don't look all that bad. What exactly are you referring to by "initially locked dungeon," though?
In vk3 you unlock the various locations and dungeon, at the beginning ony some locations are accessible.
Given that there's no OT for Valhalla Knights 3, am I to assume that it is basically a turd?
It's just victim of prejudice and easy hate, despite the screenshot funtions the few reviews show press shots of initial locations, i doubt that some of those have played more than a pair of hours, some of those even say totally wrong things...

If you seach for user opinions, you will always find more or less the same judgement, a game with flaws but that is addictive, iirc 7.5 is the users score for both metacritic and gamefaqs.

Is the game as grindy and repetitive as the reviews say it is?

in my hunt for more adventure games on the Vita, i came across a suggestion for Sweet Fuse and discovered it was made by Inafune!

i kind of wish i never heard of it -_-

For some reason I can't change my birthday in the Destiny of Spirits beta.

Happened to me too.

Brightness set to MAX.

Not sure where all the lag came from in Killzone. It wasn't there in the beta(s) when I played. It's unplayable now. Need to get my aces high and 100 matches and then not play it ever again.

Hmm I thought something was up. Only played the first beta and it was much much much smoother than the 3 times I've played since coming back. So laggy I just didn't feel like playing again. Thought it might have been internet/weird download issues... (using this weird 3 router setup at home). :( REALLY sucks if it's not just me..

why are there no digital preorders (feature) for Tearaway for the US PSN store :/

Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD!
Velocity Ultra
Flying Hamster HD
Bentley's Hackpack
and maybe Atomic Ninjas?

still trying to hit that $50
not sure if I should get Walking Dead Vita

Flying Hamster is a charming game. If you have a buck or two to spare, get it.

Ok, I believe! I've heard so much about it, I've nearly bought it so many times, I'm just going to buy the thing. I thought i'd be playing Final Fantasy X by now, who knows when that will come out. P4G will have to take it's place.

Awesome! I tend to not fall into the hype of certain games that I see praised on GAF often, but P4G is one of the few that really grabbed me and didn't let go. It's so damn infectious. From the music, to the battle system, to the characters. Great game.

Now, Atelier Totori Plus, on the other hand...

I bought that one on recommendations from GAF, and well, I'm just not feeling it. But I'm only about an hour into it. When I have more time, I'll give it another chance, but first impressions aren't great for that one. It may be a little too moe for me.

He asked if there was a PS+ discount. If he didn't have PS+ it'd still be purchasable at the normal $9.99 sale price for anyone.

Technically correct. The best kind of correct.

Yes it is. I agree with this.

Because (1) Tearaway is an N64 game, so it won't be available digitally on PSN and (2) because the US store doesn't do pre-orders for Vita.

I would take the large majority of that list you have up there and pool the money together for something else. I platinumed Velocity Ultra and I only feel good about that because I "won" it from PSNStores.com. Flying Cloud God would make a good filler if you're $3.50 short of going to $50 or more.... the rest... definitely not my jam.

I can't fit TWD Vita on my card yet, but I'd be more likely to recommend that than Atomic Ninjas or Bentley's Hackpack.

I just had to buy $10 calling credit to call Nippon-Yasan.com.
Let me say this about them:
(1) The customer rep spoke amazing english!
(2) The customer rep was very courteous and nice to me. My call dropped because I ran out of credit for International calling and had to figure out what the best way to proceed with calling back was. When I called back, I got the same rep, he remembered me and was seemingly putting in effort to get the information I needed while I was off the phone with him and he was nicely trying to end the call quickly to save me $.
(3) The customer rep was very helpful. I found out that if you put in the tracking number in USPS after it's hit customs, you can see your tracking there. Seems I might have my card sooner than I thought. It's out of the airport as of last Friday:

Capcom will never give the Vita it's full backing.

I'd eat crow if Capcom announces a new Vita title by the end of the year.

Sony needs to bite the bullet and pay for development or make some deals for some well known IPs, GTA would be a system seller in the west alone, Capcom games would sell great, a new Megaman game for instance, it would seriously impress me if they got MML3 to resume development on the vita, but thats not gonna happen, even a Breath of fire, a new Valkyria chronicles would be fantastic, hell, sony barely even utilizes their own IPs, there are a couple of them that'd fit the Vita perfectly, like Medievil, Ape Escape, Folklore, Syphon filter.

Of course theres the pricing for the hardware, etc, but the main reason is that they need those tryed and true franchises to build an audience first, not just unknown games, hoping some of them stick, thats why Nintendo is sucessful with their handhelds, they have the franchises and do something with them in the first place, and thats why 3rd party goes to them.

Hey guys I have like 10 bucks on my PSN should I buy TWD on PS3 or Vita?

Depending on who you ask, the Vita version is perfectly serviceable.
Since I already have the full season (minus 400 days) on Steam, I can play it on PC whenever -- the draw for me, as always, is that I like to double dip and play my games on my Vita.

So I dropped the $9.79 on it for Vita. Haven't been able to play yet as it's 2.2gb and I don't have that space until my 64gb card gets here.

Mega Man is dead. The best we'll get is Mighty No. 9 from Inafune, which is coming to Vita.

yeah and thats awesome, but i'm talking about well known franchise exclusives that this system desperately needs, not games available everywhere and anywhere

Join the rest of the "I wish Vita had this exclusive or that exclusive" club. There are a lot of members up in here. ;)

The best part about these conversations is that people fail to realize the diversity of gamer's tastes.
Not a single franchise you suggest, outside of Mega Man or Breath of Fire, would even register on my radar (Medievil, Ape Escape, Folklore, Syphon Filter).
The simple facts here:
(1) Vita doesn't have the install base to convince third party developers they can put games on the platform and be profitable.
(2) Even if it did, you wouldn't necessarily see those games getting localized and coming to EU or NA -- Valkyria Chronicles 3 didn't, for example, if I'm not mistaken -- Sega didn't think the game would sell well enough to bother. Namco couldn't bother to pay whatever costs (they had to be minimal) to use the already done english translation for One Piece on the Vita version to release it in NA or EU.
(3) Sony tried moneyhatting third party development. And on paper, it should have been *FANTASTIC* and the *SYSTEM SELLER* everyone claims Vita needs. Look at how the CoD franchise sells every year... and yet, even the promise of CoD wasn't enough to get people to buy a system in preparation for the release and then scathing reviews buried any real hopes entirely I'd wager.

Anyway, it's pointless. We don't control what games are put on the platform... all we can do is attempt to use social media to voice our desires to the third party companies directly (or some of the handful of helpful Sony employees like Shahid).
And then support those games when they are released and buy them for MSRP.
