8 minutes of COD: Ghosts "Extinction" mode Xbox One gameplay

I always get COD for the multiplayer and you can always count on two things; really bad single player and sub par graphics. It has some of the best multiplayer to play with friends though. COD 4 is my favorite multiplayer game ever.

I've never understood why zombie mode(now with aliens) was so popular. My friends are obsessed with it, but I don't play with them because it bores the fuck out of me.

Also, I thought MW3 was a super bad game. At this point they shouldn't be called Infinity Ward. I hope Ghosts is improved since these guys learned some stuff from MW3 development.

Looks really boring and slow, plus the Aliens look like bullet sponges. The dude was emptying a LMG onto one and it was still moving around like crazy.

Doesn't bother me though, I put 200+ hours into BLOPS2 and never touched Zombies and I only tried SpecOps once back on MW2.
I hate horde mode. Hated back when it was Robotron and Smash TV, hate it now in it's current form in shooters.

What does that have to do with anything? The approach IW took here is straight out of Mann vs Machine, almost verbatim.

It's not about the existance of a wave-clearing mode; it's about the way it's being done. It's fine, but it's straight out of Valve's TF2 update from last year (with a very little extra).
 
Looks like crap but it's COD, it's fun to play with friends.

I will definitely get it with my launch PS4 as i know 4 of my friends who are also buying it. COOP team deathmatch and horde mode are a blast to play with others.

The top left has the new Menu button for the Xbox One pad. (Spending Skill Points)

Anyway...looks pretty bleh. I love that they talked about getting the new aliens jumping around and sorting the A.I in 6 months and it still looks dumb.

I guess this is their new Zombies right?

How is it more like MvM than, for example, the previous CoDs with horde mode?
 
It's even more shit than I knew it would be.

So basically its the dogs from zombies reskinned as aliens. They can go on walls. You can can offer ammo to teammates.

Ok so what your telling me is that there is nothing like the survival mode and deniable ops seen in MW3, instead there is squads which is the same as playing with bots split screen in MW3 and some shitty alien horde mode ??? What the actual shit ?
 
New COD trailer up at Gamestop's Youtube Channel... looks good. Looks like more COD MP that people love... and there's some displacement mapping on the bricks that looks really cool.

Don't know about splitscreen, haven't heard it mentioned as being out.

Squads has Survival(4 players),
also now you have 10 characters that can prestige 1 time, 6 of them make up your squad.
you can challenge another player's squad who is actually offline on the map/game type they have designated.
In turn your's can be challenged when you are offline.
all XP carries over.

I am sure fans will love the new twists but nothing is jumping out as awesome and new. Strange to hear them hype up a mode about playing multiplayer online buy without actually playing online. Almost like they just made up a mode for the hell of it.
 
Disappointing graphics. I think the difference between Wii U and Xbox One versions is actually going to be much smaller than a lot of people realise.

Yes exactly that, nothing is actually new, it's like they put a hat and a fake mustache on MW3 and are trying to tell us it's a different person. Don't get me wrong I will still buy it for the multi as will all my friends but come on.
 
So they remade a class system that they originally destroyed with COD 4 in favor of "total customization," so they could have more tactical gameplay; but to make sure they didn't upset the core fan base they kept this limited to a single mode?

PS: Am I the only one who thinks the devs sounded like they we're excited about this because they could finally do something different? I kinda feel bad for IW, they're stuck making COD games.
 
So, if this is confirmed Xbox One footage, is there a confirmation on resolution? Or is the videos quality good enough for a pixel count?

They did sound excited but they are still making another CoD. Almost like a fake excitement. Sure it sells huge numbers but there are way more interesting offerings this time around.

Yeah, the aliens are probably the most different thing they will ever get to work on until COD dies off(if ever).

The textures are higher res and thus sharper... that and their displacement mapping that's on the weapons and certain areas. Other than that, a big bump in resolution (and this is XB1 so this footage is 720P? vs the 1080 that PS4 does). The models are definitely higher poly, but this seems like a higher res version of the current platforms. (like AC4)

Until we get some JackFrags BF4 style footage, it is really hard to tell. I think most people knew that Ghost was not going to be pushing any tech.

I think you should look up the definition of SIGNIFICANT. Yes there will be differences due to the 720 vs 1080, but if you think these games are going to look much different then I'll have some of what you are smoking.
 
Looks like things haven't evolved much. This would be cool I guess if it was more persistent like Mass Effect MP, but the progression stuff looks pretty shallow.

Is COD single-player just guys poring out of building while you shoot them? I haven't followed. I loved MW MP though.
