That's me alright.

Wow you are toughing it out!

I suppose, the GNex didn't release on my Carrier until like Feb 2012 though, and to make it through my whole contract that would go to 2015. The next Nexus I get will be through Google directly. The GNex works fine right now though for my needs, just browsing the internet, using a few apps, and texting. I would like a better camera and battery life though, which is what I'm hoping 4.4 software will help with (for battery).

Btw, to those of you holding out for a Nexus 10 launch tomorrow to go along with the Nexus 5... Artem (Android Police guy who claims the N5 is on sale tomorrow) says "not a chance."

So Gaf, for what reasons would I need a 32gb over 16gb? I've only had 1 smartphone prior and not quite sure what size it was.

Some people like to store all their music on their phones, or maybe they take tons of photos. Most other people can probably make do with 16 gigs what with streaming and online backup services.

Depends on what you use it for.

I have all my music on my phone, as well as download a lot of games and videos. That's actually one of the main reasons I'm upgrading: my 16GB iPhone 5 doesn't cut it anymore.

I will say this right now: 16GB is not enough space if you're going to be downloading or putting stuff onto your phone or taking photos/video on a regular basis. It's amazing how fast my Nexus 4 filled up.

Headphone jack and speaker placement are already a huge upgrade.

But their placement is exactly the same as the N4?

N4 speaker was on the back, not the bottom of the phone.

Does that case protect it enough if you drop it though? I want a minimalist case but I want it protected if it falls.

Like I said, I use the same case/brand on my N4, a fragile glass phone, and it is EXCELLENT.

Dropped it many times, and no scratches or cracks. The case wraps a bit around the front and prevents the screen from touching the ground when it is faced down.

The N5 version feels just as well-made.

Diztronic cases have a slightly raised edge to keep the screen from making contact with a surface. However if it lands face down on debris, you're asked out.

The case absorbs minor drops pretty well.

Sweet, that doesn't look bad then. I'm just paranoid of the glass cracking since that's what finally killed my old phone.

Planning on getting this. Will I need to get a micro sim card? My current phone uses a normal sized one.

Sure you don't already have one? SIM cards here (at least the ones my operator uses) come as regular-sized ones, but you can pop the middle part out so it becomes a micro SIM card.

I've never bought anything from the Google play store, or set up a credit card or anything. Do I need to add funds to my wallet first in order to buy things?
