Hyper Light Drifter [Kickstarter = Funded] Wii-U Stretch at 550K, Ends Oct 12

So to get that alternate character, you just need to add $10 and not change the reward tier right?

edit: nevermind I should have read first before posting

FYI, you don't need to pay extra to actually get the alternate Drifter. The character will be available in the game, but will be unlocked by a difficult in-game challenge. Those who pay extra have the character unlocked right from the start

The Disasterpeace OST is what really got me to bite the bullet and back it for $15. The art direction looks awesome, but I haven't been entirely sold on the combat yet. Hopefully, they do decide to flesh the game out that much more with such a huge amount of pledge money. Can't wait to see how this looks on my Vita!

thanks for the info! read it again and switched it back down to $40 :X
will send that $10 to Shantae to get the artbook :X

And we're done on $644,824. Holy shit, bet they never expected that a month ago!

Which leads me to something I've been thinking about: is this, relatively speaking, the most successful Kickstarter project ever? They wanted $27k and ended up with 2388% of their initial goal. I don't follow KS closely, but the only other comparably successful project like this is FTL, which finished on just over 2000% of its funding goal.

Edit - probably more once they account for the PayPal money too.

CRAP. I totally forgot about this today since I was running a StreetPass event.

Oh well, there goes my chance to get the Shantae crossover.

I guess I'll still pick it up when it releases if it turns out decent.

Game looks incredible. I didn't back the Kickstarter, but I certainly will give it a go on Vita if the campaign is a decent length, at least 10 hours.

Didn't ramp up as much as I expected it to there at the end but they must be very happy about the outcome regardless. Really happy for these guys and can't wait to try it out.

This seems like a relatively simple game from a tech POV with its slightly souped up NES/SNES level-ish/style graphics, so getting it to run on multiple current-gen platforms shouldn't be too hard, right? Platforms that can run stuff like Rayman Legends @ native res/1080p@60fps & Killzone Mercenary shouldn't have too much problem running this game, me thinks, meaning they don't necessarily have to spend a huge time just getting this thing running on all of these platforms and they can probably get these to run decently well without too many months required for optimization.
Sure, performance shouldn't be a huge issue, but just getting code for all the systems will take time, right? Maybe not a *huge* amount of time, but perhaps enough to push the release back a fair bit?

Lack of stretch goals. Any time a new one popped up it would hit it rather easily. But by the end he'd pretty much ran out of platforms to put it on or modes to add to it.

More Items, more areas, more tracks, better animations. I don't know what else they could have given us.
Exactly. I hope he spends the money wisely and offers to get more devs and/or animators outside of the three he got through the stretch goals.

Just watched the trailer on the kickstarter page and I am blown away. Love that art style. Anyone know who made the music in the trailer?

From the kickstarter page:
A supreme talent and fine craftsman of music and smiles, also known as the one-man pound-storm of deep beats and carnal wailing that is Baths, has produced the trailer track. Is producing another track for the game during production.

Hey backers: you should have been charged by Amazon by now, but there's a chance something didn't go right. Check to see if you were all charged properly

On Missed Transactions

After having worked with Amazon Payment it's come to our attention that there are hundreds of failed transactions, which leads to a decent chunk of change for us to work without. You should be receiving an email via Kickstarter and Amazon Payments on the subject; you apparently have seven days to address any issue with this, so PLEASE help us out to actually reach our stated KS total; we will try and figure out exactly which people are missing out and address them, but their backend is a bit unfriendly and it may take time to work with their engineers on it. Please double check for us that your payment went through so we can make this game the best possible game with everything promised! If you feel you'd rather pledge via PayPal or Google Checkout, please visit our site instead!

So glad I backed this.. just wish I had backed it for one of the higher tiers at this point for beta access
Nah. I'm very happy to wait to play the game in its full glory.

I almost added $5 to my contribution for the soundtrack, but I figured I'd probably just buy it anyways when the time comes. If its really amazing, I wont mind pitching in some more at all to help the developer.

The game was just featured during the twitch minecon livestream, that's awesome (20k viewers), the interviewer (sethbling) however didn't seem to much into it.

Truly terrific. 'Tis is most probably my most awaited Kickstarter title
after Torment: Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity.

Anybody who knows me as a gamer knows that I despise top down camera angles. It's the same reason why I won't be picking up Zelda 3DS; but for this game, I may force myself to tolerate it, because this looks too awesome to ignore.

Man. This puts the pitch video into the trash. This looks more amazing than ever. I hope the end product is 16:9. I really see no reason to keep it at 4:3 or whatever ratio it is that they are using now.
