Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Let's talk abour Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen. I think smokey dave had some impressions.
It's a janky-ass PS2 game in the best possible way. Reminded me a lot of Tenchu. A good amount of content.

It fell into my backlog black hole before I finished it, reckon I'll give it a download again.

I hope some of you guys buy Divekick from the sale.

Is it down to the price where they PAY ME to waste my bandwidth and memory card space on it? Cause, y'know, if they're going to give me $10 to download it, sure, I guess... maybe... :P

senran kagura shinovi versus and browsing gaf in class....never again.

Quiet you. You know you like it.

Is there a easy way to back up content from a 32GB card to a 16GB card?

Downsize, you mean?
Yeah, delete all the stuff you don't want off the 32gb so you're under the usable space on the 16gb and then back it up and restore? ;)
Your best bet would probably be to get PS+ if you don't have it, back up your game saves to the PS+ cloud, then just download the games you want to be on the 16gb card directly.

Let's talk abour Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen. I think smokey dave had some impressions.

I actually liked this title a lot. It's very PS2-y, but the gameplay is solid with lots of room to experiment. Each level is completely open, allowing you to chose your own path through the level, and your character is very mobile, able to grapple onto roofs and run along walls. You can serve any of three factions warring over the land, performing missions that can actually have an effect on later ones. For example, performing enough missions where you steal enemy provisions will result in the soldiers of that faction being more susceptible to your food items. If a faction is against the wall, they may hire rival ninja clans or samurai to add another dangerous element to missions.
You can buy various tools like exploding mines and wind-up toys, but the real fun starts when you start crafting your own equipment. Let's say you want to make a smoke bomb that makes an enemy attack his friends. But maybe that's too boring, so you make it also boost the target's speed and attack strength to allow him to kill enemies easier. From potions that make your shuriken the size of dinner plates to explosive sushi that confuses any enemy it doesn't kill, there are a large amount of possibilities when it comes to making ninja tools for yourself.
Then there's the (paid) DLC, which introduces a variety of game-breaking/weird items like the mine that catapults enemies into the sky or a ninpo that makes purple fire explode out of nearby enemies. You have to go through a series of annoying fights to get said items, but I found that they were worth it for the most part.

That all being said, I did have some complaints as the game is far from perfect:
-The game can get quite repetitive at times, as most of the missions you are offered are often similar to ones you took earlier - even taking place in the same areas.
-The combat is very clunky, to the point where I just used the counter move you get later on and avoided all the other combat related functions entirely.
-The rating system favors killing people without being seen as fast as possible, which is annoying if you want to "ghost" levels.
-The story is horrible.
Finally, it can take a lot of grinding to get the materials you need to create godly items.

Overall, I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. Definitely got my money's worth and I still play it just to fool around with my game-breaking items and the ragdoll cheat.

Let's. The game sounded interesting at launch, but I never got around to it.

This was a joke but I did really like the demo since you had so much freedom.

.

I'll admit that I did peek at it again.

Also the people who made Tenchu made this game.

Google tells me the text says for the description says: Big update coming tomorrow, be prepared for surprises!

A new sleek UI that looks like the PS4's (and not a bunch of silly bubbles), and streaming audio working on background, obviously. What else could it be?

Update 3.0 better let us have multiple accounts on one's Vita...because DAT JAPANESE PSN PSP AND VITA LIBRARY!

hmmm...what could the surprises be? is there anything similar to anti-aliased bubbles that we would swoon over and weird out the non-vita-owner population?

only things i can think of.....

store infinite loop glitch
100 app limit
PS4 features ( linking, friends list, party chat/messages condensed)
Vita Store revamp
download history list
gifting?

All which seem to fit cohesively together and not for some random FW update 2 weeks before ps4....but for all we know it is and they want two weeks to test it all out before ps4 launches.

I honestly cant think of anything else on the wish list that has been that popular in demand - so who knows whats coming!

Oh man fw 3.0 ... last few firmware updates have been pretty awesome, hopefully some surprises in there too

I think we are getting our hopes up a little too high. It probably doesn't add anything besides the PS4 features.

Probably...still though, fun - Sony adds snes emulator to Vita firmware. Or maybe bumps app limit to 150 or 120.

Multi-account support for Vita for the release of Vita TV. The ability to buy avatars on Vita. Fix for the download-locking bug. Non-compressed wallpapers.

So fw 3.0 tomorrow it seems

Welcome back.
Thanks for the heads up!

Probably.

Improved PSP and Ps1 emulator. The games do look like they run on the PPSSPP emulator.
No, that would be too cool.

We can dream. Maybe I'll be able to play my Crash and R-Type games finally. But I'm not holding my breath.

Update 3.0 better let us have multiple accounts on one's Vita...because DAT JAPANESE PSN PSP AND VITA LIBRARY!

That'd be nice. Might convince me to put my EU account on and just buy some of the games I want on there... I'd even consider putting my Japan account on there so I could buy things like Mega Man Powered Up.

It'd be nice if it was like the Steam client where we could see all purchased games, have a sleek integrated store, and just install/uninstall at a whim.

Would absolutely love that. Way too good of a thought to be true though

Hahaha, we hardly get anything we actually want. Most of the update will probably be for the remote play stuff on PS4.

So vitabros who here is getting the vita a best friend aka ps4?

Eventually... in a couple of years.
