Didn't this Asshole say he was gonna quit the industry on at least two separate occasions? After today I'm kind of hoping he goes through with it.
anybody post that youtube on his twitter? I'd love to see his response![]()
Already did.Someone needs to tweet this to him. Stat.
I honestly don't know.
yes they are.I really think this guy is a tool. His opinions are whack. Resolution and framerate were selling points for multiplats on 360 now that the roles are reversed it doesn't matter?
You like the bit where he can't even bring himself to say 720p when just a few months ago he insisted that 1080p was the bare minimum we should expect from the new consoles?
Are you? That would mean you enjoy his videos, yet a lot of people in this thread seem to be implying the opposite.
This conspiracy nonsense is so absurd.
He's editorializing. Patrick Klepeck and Brad from GB said the same thing. Opinions.
Sites like DF will bear out the hard comparisons-cuz, well that's their job. If there are stark differences you'll see that in reviews.
Someone should ask Adam whether he actually paid for the 'videogame' he is about to play, or was it provided for free by a publisher?
Nope- just consistency- thats all we ask. Is that too much?I don't even know what people are asking here. Do they want the media to say that the Xbox One sucks or something?
You pretty much nailed it.I don't even know what people are asking here. Do they want the media to say that the Xbox One sucks or something?
I've just had a thought
Sessler, if you were going to see a new release movie and the IMAX showing of a movie was less than the regular showing of the same movie would that matter?
Same movie, same charecters, same story but better image quality, better sound
Pretty sure you'd go for the IMAX showing at a cheaper price 100% of the time
I don't even know what people are asking here. Do they want the media to say that the Xbox One sucks or something?
so when those negatives that each where BLASTED for are for the same console..instant rationality? "it's no big deal."Both the PS3 and the 360 have been marked down at different times for being an inferior version. The 360 for usually for having worse hardware, the PS3 for usually being a pain in the ass to develop for.
There is no grand anti-Playstation conspiracy.
I don't even know what people are asking here. Do they want the media to say that the Xbox One sucks or something?
Much like resolution and gameplay, it's not a one or the other situation.
I don't really see a problem. If anything, he's saying that graphics are going to be better on the xb1 and ps4. But that's not something to be impressed about. That's not that big of a deal. The big deal is going to be what the power difference between generations actually allows. Better AI, bigger worlds, more motion capture, more players. 720p vs 1080p is a large resolution difference objectively. But that's not what developers and gamers should be focusing on when moving to next gen.
And in a way I agree with him. I care a lot more about the player increase to 64 in bf4 than I do about the resolution increase. When the next fallout game comes out I'll be more impressed by better animations, larger environments, and less loading screens when going from indoor to outdoor than I'll be about resolutions. And when I play the witcher 3 next year, resolution will be the last thing on my mind.
1:39......the hypocrisy is damning.![]()
Well, his rep is already shot.Didn't this Asshole say he was gonna quit the industry on at least two separate occasions? After today I'm kind of hoping he goes through with it.
You're right. There isn't. But there is a Pro-Microsoft attitude in some cases. Both the PS3 and the 360 have been marked down at different times for being an inferior version. The 360 for usually for having worse hardware, the PS3 for usually being a pain in the ass to develop for.
There is no grand anti-Playstation conspiracy.
You are a bad person.Fuck, at the end of the video he admits he can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p..
Maybe his eyes are going bad, along with the hair falling out, he's just a crotchety old man.
In this case, I would like to know why Sessler's opinion changed over the last 4 months.
A lot of people seem to be equating, "not condemning MS" with "being a shill" at the moment, especially with this point.
You pretty much nailed it.
Well, his rep is already shot.
He should just get a Microsoft PR job or leave at this point.
For what it's worth I think he'd do a better job than Larry with that gig.
Seriously. Is it really that complicated? Major Nelson is not going to publicly pat Sessler on the back for a video that is basically a defense of the XB1's shortcomings. This was the next best thing.
You either watch his videos or you don't. It really is one or the other.
Sorry, watched the proper video now.
It's still in line with what he was saying last year. Last year, he was saying "yeah, they better be 1080p/60fps...but that's not really what this is about. It's about the games". That's still what he's saying here, despite 1080p/60fps apparently not being the standard for either Sony or Microsoft.
I'm not sure where the hate for sessler is coming from. While I don't agree with him on this video that resolution doesn't matter because it certainly does, he doesn't deserve to be vilified as some MS shill. I've been following him for 10 years and he is almost always spot on and on our (the gamers ) side. There is a way to disagree with him and not attack his credibility for his statements.
Haha...how can people not see the BLATANT hypocrisy? He literally says "better be 60FPS at 1080p". He wanted everything you listed AND said "BETTER BE".
I still liked him until he sat with a straight face all summer long pushing Shark Week for Discovery Channel during every show about gaming.
oh manWhat the hell is a resolutiongate? I must be out of the loop.
Not to burst people's bubble, but Sessler really doesn't give much of a shit on the technical side of games. Just watch the last Address the Sess, where anything technical had to be handled by TB.
I get what he's saying, and I agree. But I can't agree with with that resolutions and performance don't matter. I'll hold him to the late 2014 concession though. If things don't change from what we've seen thus far in the power gap utilization between the two systems, than the objective standing he's been trying to do needs to be dropped.
I don't know, I think we're getting way too eager to witch hunt when the past few months he's been rather pro-Sony and just came off of a live stream nerding out over a Sony exclusive.
so when those negatives that each where BLASTED for are for the same console..instant rationality? "it's no big deal."
Forget that he said 1080p and 60fps...all he's saying in both videos is that graphics are not where games need to innovate this generation.
so sick of all this shit the gaming press has said the past week. yes, there will be people who will be paying the same $60 and get the graphically inferior version, so instead of helping them make an informed decision so they won't regret it, instead let's pretend we're all blind and make a copout of a statement about "it's the games that matter."
What the hell is a resolutiongate? I must be out of the loop.
So, after I watched today's Sessler's Something, I thought the whole argument was odd, since I remember Adam Sessler's pretty much arguing that his expectation were always 1080p/60 for these two new consoles, and that they needed to something more.
So I looked up the video from his panel he did last June for this year's Screw Attack Gaming Convention, and well....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55mJl_zKAu0
Certainly, Adam Sessler has always said that games needs to innovate and show us(the consumers and the press) what a next gen concept is, but he certainly expected both the XBox One, and PS4 to be 1080p/60.
So now that we have confirmation that one system is clearly having issues with it, what changed in Sessler's expectations?
Yes, but quoting out of context is so much more fun -_-'...
What the hell is a resolutiongate? I must be out of the loop.
