Media Create Sales: Week 44, 2013 (Oct 28 - Nov 03)

But most Vita games are late ports, lol. This one has more content too, plus the anime popularity as pointed by Tsutaya. Anyway I'm not talking about Gundam, I'm talking about Vita itself. That bump is pretty miserable.

Let's see if Akiba Trip can push more hardware, but next week is the week before God Eater 2 so a big bump is inevitable.

You are really trying to make this look bad huh? It's completely desilusional to think that a late port of a recent game will sell gangbusters.

good hold for Vita after the new model release, imho
and good bump for Wii U, with decent numbers (the 80k total with the copies of the bundles) for Wii Party U. it seems that it is not dead (yet)

good 3DS hold too, even if the YoY will be head to head (considering that AC was released at the end of the year, last year, while from now on 3DS will have just Zelda and P&Dragons)

Wii U is alive?

what? What games were released to make it sell that much? Wii Fit U isn't even out yet. Assuming it has a presence in Japan

3DS is weaker than I expected, given the high profile releases a couple weeks ago. Guess people are waiting for the holidays at this point. What did it have last year at this time to do so well though?

This puts it into perspective. Anyone who thinks the Wii audience is going to come back, including Iwata, is delusional.

The point was that these casual games end up the LTD at 10 times their first week on average, which is pretty unusual in the videogame market.

One thing that I don't understand is that NSMBU is at 38.936 in famitsu but nowhere to be found in the media create charts... is there a digital coupon include in the bundle ??

Code:
17./00. [WIU] Wii Fit U [Wii U Family Premium Set Black/White] <ETC> (Nintendo) {2013.10.31} (¥34.800) - 5.683 / NEW <80-100%>
What bundle is this ??

Remind me, how many Wii U bundles is Japan getting and when? Is this the kitchen sink bundle?

This is it. Presumably no price drop until next year, all other hopes of bumping on holiday market (not as big in Japan) and Mario 3D World.

Since Famitsu is including bundle sales, that means NSMBU sold about 100 copies outside of the bundle.

Wow

Also, the Wii Fit U bundle has not been on the shelves at any store I've been to (only the other bundle), but when I asked to buy it, they had them.

Edit: all games in bundles are preloaded. Mine came with NSMBU, Wii Party U and Wii Fit U installed. No codes.

Nice numbers for 3DS, ok for Wii U and so and so for Vita. I guess Vita will outsell the 3DS later this month and during December since there are no big 3:rd party games coming out for the 3DS and it's on a downward spiral (sales wise)

Yeah, the bundles are NSMBU, Wii Fit U, + Wii Party U, and just NSMBU + Wii Party U.

This doesn't have more content though? PS3 version got a free patch the same day adding all the stuff. And it's 2,000 yen compared to 6,000+. That was never gonna move systems so much as it was going to help the Vita not drop. I imagine the anime being good helped the thing sell more than a handful of copies, if anything. Hahaha.

Also, on the Japanese end of the internet at least, Gundam Breaker is considered a kusoge through and through. One loved dearly, but a kusoge none the less.
I mean compared to the original PS3 release, I know about the update. And you are assuming most people still have the PS3 version, which I doubt. Japan is also the handheld land, I mean there are many arguments here.

I'm not saying I expected Vita to sell 40k this week, but a 3k bump is not good with all things considered. And I'm not sure why people are expecting Vita to drop like a rock with a redesign out, in the heat of the holiday season. Hello?

Exactly.

And just as curiosity, anyone knows how was the Wii LTD when Wii Party lauched? :3

Vita will be fine for the rest of its life. It won't top the 3DS, but will continue to be where you'd find niche/otaku games on it just like the PSP. That's fine by me since I like niche/otaku games like Senran Kagura/Miku/Neptunia.

Nice bump for WiiU. Don't think it'll ever get the casual crowd from the Wii back. I think the best it can hope for is to plod along like the Gamecube - good enough for the Nintendo core fanbase.

Well, last year the 3DS had 16 games in the charts and also a revision, the 3DS XL vs. 7 games this year and no revision. And it's actually holding up very nicely, thanks to Pokemon and MH4.

Last year there was a Monster Hunter bundle + Black colour and just general anticipation for Animal Crossing. 88k isn't 'weak'.

Wii Party U

Media Create Sales:
06./00. [WIU] Wii Party U <ETC> (Nintendo) {2013.10.31} (¥4.935) - 37.371 / NEW

Famitsu Sales:
02./00. [WIU] Wii Party U # <ETC> (Nintendo) {2013.10.31} (¥4.935) - 79.715 / NEW <40-60%>

That's a huge difference! Is Wii Party U bundled?

EDIT:
One includes DL cards.

Isn't 38.8k sales of WiiU quite low anyway. Has it gone from being dead to being on life support in one week?

If I'm reading the famitsu charts right, looking at the numbers of Wii Fit U compared with Wii Party U (after taking away media creates Wii Party U standalone sales number) the white bundle outsold the black bundle by a lot.

At this point, we'll take anything we get.

Even if it's probably only for a week until it dips below the 10k barrier again. I hope i'm wrong though.

all bundles came in both colours.

Exactly.

How well did Project Mirai do? I've got the 2nd one preordered at Play-Asia and the western release of Bravely Default :)

Vita hold was unexpected for me, I thought it would go down by now but it's nice to see it still holding up there.

Wii U bump was kind of expected due to the bundles but I didn't expect it to go past 30k, let's see how it holds up until 3D World comes out.

Ok, wow. Makes sense then.

You're right, 88k is good. I guess my expectations are kinda over the top, lol.

[3DS] Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai and the Future Stars (Sega) - 88.737 / 169.111 / 52,47% 08/03/12

And, looking at Comgnet, there are signs for a bigger debut for PM2.

To be fair, I don't think any of those are huge things, except maybe Puzzle and Dragons or One Piece. Though what that other guy was saying seems pretty delusional.

So there are effectively 4 different bundles? Wow. Thanks for the info. Then it's safe to say the cheaper bundle outsold the more expensive one by quite a bit. People didn't really want to pay the extra bit for Wii Fit U.

I've mentioned this, but no store I went to advertised even having the Wii Fit U bundle, despite having it in the back. There was literally zero mention of if.

Also, you only save about 200 yen w(two bucks) with it, as the Fit meter is about 2300 yen.

I thought those games where coming out next year, my bad! :(

Next year?

Girl Gift RPG
Dragon Quest Monsters 2
Retro Game Challenge 3
Devil Survivor 2: Overclock/Drive/don't remember now
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy - Curtain Call
Harvest Moon: Linking to the new World
New Love Plus+
And many others
