Available on european stores:

-A-Men 2 (9,99€, cross-buy, 248Mb)
-CastleStorm (9,99€, cross-buy, 533Mb, trial available)

hmmm alright guys thanks for the suggestions. I'm hoping for a TitS to go on sale before SC gets released so i'll probably go for one of the Atelier games. Which one is good to jump into, Totori or Meruru?

Totori came first, so would be a good idea to play it first, you also get extra stuff if you have Totori's save file, like extra costumes and I think Totori herself gets her gear back? I don't remember too well.

Sold my Vita (and PS3) a while ago,my interest in gaming has dropped severely recently.Last game played was Killzone:Mercs which was awesome.
You last enjoyed a game a lot less than 2 months ago and now you're already all "I'm over gaming"? Why not just keep the consoles? Unless you're short for cash. People go through these fluctuations in their lives. If you've enjoyed gaming until now, there's a high chance you'll enjoy it again, even if at the moment you aren't feeling it.

I'm in my mid thirties and I've been through the "I'm over gaming" phase a few times but it always comes down to one thing...

You've got to find that game that reconnects you. The problem wasn't the process, it was the software.

It's just that I have different priorities now and whatever spare time I have I'd rather watch a movie or listen to music or play a quick game or 2 on my phone.

I need Sony to make the Vita have multiple accounts already so I can finally get around to playing BoF3 on my Vita.

Also how bad is Powerstone Collection's port?

So EDF2017 is on sale both in Europe and North America. Everybody should buy it NOW instead of waiting for the last day of the sale just to miss it again. I don't know why you all do that. Europeans should also buy Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack from the sale.

Remember, buy now or end up like Laughing Banana. You all don't want to end up like him, do you?
Sorry Banana

Got my 90th platinum.
TWD, OMG, the feels!

Congrats. Good game, wasn't it? Hope you were ok with the Vita version.

Bought Guacamelee! Thank you all for the recommendation.. awesome game!!

You're welcome. You should try out Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, another game from Drinkbox Studios. It's on sale in Europe right now.

thank you!

quiet down frost, he's adorable

Yes he does, frost knows nothing.

How long would a 32 gb memory card last if you go mostly digital?

what are typical size (roughly) for classic games, retail games, and psn titles?

Vitabro rule no. 1: Memory space will always run out as soon as possible. There are just too many good games on the Vta.
I am in the process of importing a 64gb card from Nippon Yasan to Europe right now, will report my experience. From what I've gathered, they should be the cheapest with express and insured shipping that have stock available. According to corrosivefrost, they have a good english speaking support.

Yes Asia has a free shipping promotion going on which will be ultimately cheaper but it is just for standard shipping (probably no insurance).

So, the EU PSN Sci-fi sale raises some questions which I'd love my fellow Vitamuppets and muffins to help me out with:

1. I'll get Super Stardust Delta for sure - I've never played any of the Super Stardust games, but they seem to be a perfect fit for a portable. But should I get the game with or without the Advanced Starfighter expansion? What does it add? Unless I enjoy a game a lot, I usually move on when I'm done with the main content, without delving into DLC - and I have a HUGE backlog across Vita, PS3, 360 and PC, so I don't really need any unnecessary distractions.
2. I'm tempted by EDF Portable, but I don't know.. I've never played any EDF game, but they seem like the kind of games you'd prefer to play local co-op. Should I skip this deal and just get one of the console EDFs to be able to play locally with friends (I hear there's a new one coming out for PS3 soon), or is EDF Portable fun enough as a single player experience to be worth my cash and time?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I need Sony to make the Vita have multiple accounts already so I can finally get around to playing BoF3 on my Vita.

Also how bad is Powerstone Collection's port?

Not bad at all with a vita. Powerstone is one of the PSP games that have clear advantages playing on a Vita . But it was pretty bad at launch with a PSP1000 with interminable load time and 30FPS.

Powerstone 1 still have long loads, but is a crisp 60FPS experience, pretty close to the Dreamcast version. Powerstone 2 have pretty short load time, but is 30FPS on Character Select and 60FPS on the actual battle.

I played a lot of the Vita Powerstone online using Ad-Hoc party. It works pretty well. Add me for some matches: Shinriji

Main game being 60 FPS sounds good enough for me, will def. pick it up next time it goes on sale.

I've listened to it 5 times already. I think we found the next Austin Wintory. Sony, hire this man. Shahid, sign him for 28 games.

very elegance. such ruthem. much bauetiful.

FF Tactics. Apparently Ogres is the bomb too. Gotta get on that one day.

Hahahahahaha! I may make a cover song if there's a demand. Gonna get famous with that.

I recommend Disgaea 1, 2 and 3, Jeanne d'Arc and Gungnir.
It's just that I have different priorities now and whatever spare time I have I'd rather watch a movie or listen to music or play a quick game or 2 on my phone.
Why are you here then? You should be playing with your Vita!
I totally understand your situation. I've been there myself. The Vita, your Vitabros and VitaGAF will always be here if you want to come back. :)

Tempted to pick up EDF. Been waiting for ages for it to be on sale, but now I don't know if I'd actually play it for an extensive amount of time.

Is Super Stardust Delta good?

It's £4.31 for Plus members with the DLC included.

I loved Super Stardust HD.
It's amazing. Bought it a couple of weeks back and I've pretty much played nothing else since.

Feel free to participate in my failed LTTP thread. My current highest endless score is a little north of 20m. :)

EDIT: Wow I didn't see the EDF price. Tempted! D:

I saw the thread about the 3DS locking down swap note because of some stupid pedos and it got me thinking.

Can't the Vita be used to do the same? Granted, the Vita isn't as popular as a children's handheld like the 3DS is but it has a camera, a mic and a messaging app and that seems good enough. I just hope it doesn't spread to Vita.

Yeah, probably about time to jump on EDF. Finally at a good price for EU.

Might have to organise some EU GAF bug-slaying.

candella software is planning a vita game, said maybe a psm one in december.

( asked them in an email )

edit - pretty sure it's chariot wars btw.

I have never thought i would have looked at a vk3 screen that is not mine! :O
You are at the beginning, how cute :3

I'm at the final boss(but the game continues with new contents) and damn it's irritating! Not because he is strong and i need lots of grinding, i'm used to this, but because he is so close and at the same time to arrive to him i need to travel A LOT...

Mind if i ask how long did it take you to get to the final boss? Oh and uh...how vital is the sexy time parts.

Edit: Oh and Jacob Jones Ep 2 finally titled: The Crackskull Conundrum
According to their twitter.

It's worth it for its price and its length is fine for what you pay.
Disgaea Infinite is a Visual Novel SET In the Disgaea universe but it's $15.

i've heard bad things about DI - especially considering i've never played a game set in the universe before

EDF is about mindless fun from shooting giant bugs, robots and alien gunships in mostly 'destructible' (every building is destroyable after just one shot, don't expect physics) cities.
Most of its charme is derived from its trashy b-movie style.
So yes, I guess it would be a good game to play with buddies locally.

Playing it alone or online on the Vita is still fun though. Just don't expect a story or so, it's just about shooting things. Great game to play while you are doing other things like watching sport.

Guys, buy EDF so I have more people to play with online.
You can shoot hordes of giant spiders in it with rocket launchers. Why would you not want that?

I am suddenly reminded that I still have to finish Jacob Jones

Is EDF really worth the lower price? I haven't looked too much into the game, but it still seem kinda overpriced to me

Depends, if you want meaty single player content Blazblue or MK9 and maybe DOA 5, online fun? MvC3.

Online? Did the online community magically resurrect itself? Last time I looked it was pretty barren, but I haven't booted the game since the sales on it.

If you`re a PS+ user game saves are stores in the cloud.

If you aren't, you're fucked xD

Trophies are account tied, aren't they?

Trophies are account tied, once earned.
Some games will only allow one account to earn trophies (see: UMvC3) so in a sense, that one is tied to the save data as well, as giving the card to someone else (used sale, friend borrows, etc.) will require the new person to wipe your data and start their own before they can earn a trophy.
Not sure if more Vita games are like this, but UMvC3 was the only one I came across back when I owned it on cart. Pain in the ass.

I tried searching online for a 64gig card, but couldn't find any in my country (Norway). Where are they available for import? (Import is a bitch here, anything over ~£25 practically doubles in price :( )

Are the classic games running well on it btw? Are they good versions?

edit: http://www.play-asia.com/playstation-vita-memory-card-64gb-paOS-13-49-en-70-7279.html

Is this were you guys import? that's priced rather steep

Classic games:
Running well? Are you EU? Couldn't say then. In NA, the games that you can play work well, some games require a PS3 to transfer and get the game installed on your Vita. There's a list over on CAG, it might be linked in the OP.

64gb card:
YesAsia
NipponYasan
Amiami or whatever Nerdstick mentioned

Depends on what you do with.
I've had a 32gb since I bought my unit last Summer. Worked pretty damn good at first, even after I loaded all my PSP games (at the time) and the PSOne classics I wanted... but between PS+, sales, and everything else... I got sick of buying a game and having to juggle stuff to make it fit (ex: TWD, which I just played and beat, was 2.2gb or so. I wasn't about to juggle space to make it fit since my 64gb card was here, but it would've required me to delete some stuff to make space on my 32gb card).

File sizes for retail Vita games range from minimal (500mb or so: Muramasa Rebirth, EDF 2017 Portable) to large (3.2gb or so: MGS HD collection, MK9, Blazblue, Uncharted) with games ranging anywhere in between (1-2gb: Gravity Rush, Sony Smash, Dragon's Crown, TWD, etc.). The most extreme is Killzone Mercenary -- it has a 1.2gb patch that is required, even if you own the cart and a 3.3gb download size. In this case, I broke my all digital mantra and bought it physical for my empty card slot so it only costs me 1.2gb to own.

As far as PSP and PSOne games, they generally range in the several hundred mb to 1gb range. The bigger games are usually the PSOne games that had multiple discs.

As with any game, your interest factor indicates what your price point should be.
For $15 back when it was at it's lowest sale price, I said "what the hell" and I've gotten 30 hours of play out of it with as many more as I want. I think it's more fun to play than gameplay videos can convey... but again, depends on if you think you would like it... it's not complex, it's a bit janky, but it can be very fun.

You still haven't accepted my friend request after we played EDF together weeks ago ;(

You're one to talk, Mr. "I abandoned EDF for Dragon's Crown and left Frost all alone". :P

I just noticed a version of Runner 2 has been released on iOS but still no word of the vita release. Any one heard any rumblings?

Someone please convince me to get a Vita :( having doubts over games and memory stick prices but I think I still really want one

- First, Portable PS1 and PSP games in a gorgeous OLED screen.
- Awesome Hardware. Very comfortable and has a good OS to back it up.
- PS+ is awesome. I'm sure your 64gb card will be necessary and will fill up with free games soon.
- Great online community. We, VitaGAF, are here so you can ask questions or play with us. At least I know I will.
- Games are starting to pick up especially with the release of PS4.
- Remote Play if you have a PS4.

There's more but I'm sure others will encourage you to buy this. It really is a great console.

OMG at dat vk3 (mid-game)ending! I didn't see it coming, and i already knew about a big part of the ending! O_O

The ending unlocks the remaining locations, for example
the giant tree(i don't remember the name) that has 100 floors, or the abyss of anomaly(inside the cave of anomaly), i guess it has 100 floors too.
I wonder if those floors are randomly generated.

Mind if i ask how long did it take you to get to the final boss? Oh and uh...how vital is the sexy time parts.

According to their twitter.
The clock says 50 hours, but i made lots of experiments that i didn't save so i played a LOT more, and the game doesn't end at the ending lol, i read of people that played 120 hours...

Nothing is vital, you can do everything at the slums(or at the light district), but at the light district you can take quests and equipments that you don't find at the slums(and vice-versa, for example bounty missions are available only at the slums), but the minigame is the fastest way to obtain advanced jobs cards.

EDIT:
i'll explain better, if you do the minigame right you get a heart, next time you go to her she will talk about her, when you get all the hearts you go on "date"(i won't spoil this lol), at the end you will get an advanced job card and the girl will join your party.

Bought Dragon's Crown against my better judgement.

I'm spending too much time with it while neglecting my assignments.

edit: oh fuck there's an EU sale?!

Someone please convince me to get a Vita :( having doubts over games and memory stick prices but I think I still really want one

-Doubt about games: does vita have games you like? If so just get it! Don't consider the "vita haz no gaemz/exclusives" bullshit, once you have vita you will want to play EVERYTHING on it, exclusive or not.

-Doubts about memory card prices: Sorry but this is bullshit imo, yes memories are really overpriced but spending more money for ONE memory is enough to skip a console you want? Imo no. Why do people hear those hypocrite haters that say to skip the sold at loss vita because of overpriced memories, but then they buy overpriced consoles and tablets/smartphones?

Also check out Impact mode which comes with the DLC. I think it's under rated (it came really late in the life cycle of Super Stardust HD)

This!
I also want to add, that the console have great polish. When you hold it you just feel really solid piece of hardware. And that OLED looks awesome not only for PS1 and PSP games. :)
PlayStation Plus is a must have! Non-stop sales and additional discounts, and 2-3 games every month for free.
The console itself is worth it every penny/cent. The memory cards... not so much, but if you can grab one with a deal, for example, I'm seeing some 32GBs with online code for Unit13 or ModNations for like 25euros.

Someone please convince me to get a Vita :( having doubts over games and memory stick prices but I think I still really want one

too many reasons to list....

but heres an overlooked, yet immensely enjoyed feature:

multitasking.

being able to suspend anything, even games mid process... open internet, look up something... and then come back to my game like it wasn't even paused and minimized is such a fluid luxury.

and honestly if you find yourself still interested in the machine after being on the fence for so long, it means you really do want one. and just dive in.

I remember a time when Gaf hated the vita ( except for the handful of vita owners in this thread) and lately people are seeing the light and there is an influx of new owners - and honestly i feel like 9 out of 10 owners fall in love with the system and claim to spend more time on it than any other console.

many haters complain about ports, multiplats, or old indie titles coming to vita... but typically they are the definitive version due to the portability and added features...and honestly theres no reason reason to complain about ports or old indies if they are good and you havent played them yet...

the ball is starting to roll with vita - its an amazing piece of hardware. just pick up a bundle, ps+, and give it a few months. if you really arent feeling it - i'm sure you can sell it without taking a massive loss.

fuck me sideways, bought Super Stardust Delta and EDF 2017

congrats - i havent played EDF, but hear great things - lots of people like to play together here. also SSD is another great pick up, personally i thought it'd have a little more content, but its a very fun and pretty challenging game. i'm sure youll have fun with both.

been meaning to pick up Jacob Jones for the Vita.... need ALL the adventure titles!

been wanting jacob jones too - but typically i wait for the season to be sold at once opposed to buying each eps one at a time.... and they havent mentioned anything on eps 2 for a while. :(

While I never hated the Vita, I didn't really see a ton of compelling software to buy one. With the price drop and the Remote Play functionality promised with PS4, I took the jump and man I am glad I did. I LOVE the Vita. I think I may like it more than console gaming because now I can go anywhere in the house and still have a great gameplay experience.

Previous handhelds didn't really do it for me. The dual analog sticks are huge because I can now play the genres I like on the go and not feel like the functionality is limited.

Someone please convince me to get a Vita :( having doubts over games and memory stick prices but I think I still really want one

You'll have to do some research about what games you want to play, Look up youtube footage, and what is coming in the future. No one can do that for you because you can't substitute their taste for yours

The games I personally play the most are smaller scale (indie) but i also played many hours of Need For Speed Most Wanted, Mortal Kombat, etc.

Fuck it!
*Goes to PSN Store*
I bought EDF. It fits on my paltry ass 8GB memory card and... I've always wanted an EDF game. Now OllieOllie just needs to come out already.
