Ridley in Smash Bros. Brawl

I actually just recognized that channel, I ran across that channel whilst looking at smash 4 reactions, at first I just thought some guy had taped him and his friends reacting on skype and having funny smash characters doing shit but on checking out his channel he does bralw machinma.....there was a time where I use to watch brawl machinma like all the time.

Pic of the day. We gave Marth a full makeover, giving him design elements from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and newer games.

Marth looks amazing - good enough that I'm seriously considering picking up Shadow Dragon just to play an actual game with him. Really solid week altogether, makes up for the recent humdrum for sure.

Anyone recognize the coat of arms on his cape? Is that from anything in particular?

Marth is really growing on me. Probably the best looking character in the game so far now.

I do hope they work a bit on the other characters since some of them feel a bit off. (Not really a fan of how Fox looks sometimes)

yeah it's pretty sad that Marth looks so damn improved over his Brawl model, whereas Fox looks IDENTICAL

and it's double sad because brawl fox is an awful design!

I wish that one of those "newer games" would have been released worldwide.

That Ridley image made me think that it would be interesting if characters had different sized slots. Something like Jump Stars:

As for the alts I want unmasked Meta Knight and Mr. L the most.

Here's one:

I'm stunned by how... lifeless Marth looked in Brawl, although I never noticed it until seeing how vastly they've improved him. So far I think Marth, Bowser and Toon Link have had great redesigns, but the number one spot has to go to Samus if only because her Brawl design was really, really bad. I liked the shiny quality they gave to her armor in Brawl, but otherwise her shoulder pads were comically huge, the color scheme seemed a bit off, and she had an inexplicable giant slab of crotch armor. New Samus is sleek, distinguishable as a woman, and has sensible armor proportions.

Am I the only one who thinks Peach has the best character design right now? The bright color scheme really sets her ahead of the pack IMO.

Every character is benefitting greatly from the transition to a more primary color palette. It seems that they all have much more lively, expressive faces now too.

Edit- having just taken a look at the Brawl model, it's like comparing one of those eerie "American Girl" dolls to a modern Disney princess. Much better design. Brawl Peach looks like she's wearing the dress her grandmother handed down to her from the women's suffrage era.

This would be so much better

this is one of the few times where I think I've ever agreed with boss doggie on something

Star Fox characters to me simply look creepy the more realistic they look. The only thing that bothers me about Fox's Brawl design are his cartoonishly round boots that don't make any sense and don't seem to be taken from any previous SF game either. Still, for something as 'out there' and fantastical as Star Fox, going for semi-realistic styles feels inappropriate. Probably why people associate the SF cast far more with their simplistic SF64 designs than their downright horrifying SNES promotional 'dolls'.
