This weekend (between Saturday, November 9 and Monday, November 11) Future Shop and Best Buy locations across Canada will be giving out free copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Battlefield 4 to anyone who trades in a current generation console game.

Trade-in Offer FAQs

Can I really bring any game to trade-in?
Yes. Any PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U or 3DS game will be accepted if they are in good condition and with original package

Is there a minimum trade-in value needed for my game to be eligible?
No

Can you trade in PC games?

Also, from personal experience. It looks like only about 10% of the in-store reservations went through this afternoon and then they stopped taking them. I personally made 3 reservations and called all 3 stores to ensure that they went thought, and they all told me they did :)

My title got a little messed up... can a mod fix it? :)

But also, I'm trying to talk to some of my friends that work at FS now to verify this deal, and if there are any restrictions. Seems way to good to be true.

360/PS3/Wii U only. No Wii.

Not sure if want, given that these are current-gen versions only and that FS/BB will probably be slammed. Also very skeptical that there's no minimum TIV. I'll probably end up trying anyways, though, like an idiot.
 
This is going to be chaos. Will line up early tomorrow morning.

The beauty is they all offer upgrades to the next-gen version for $10 more.
 
This is insanity, I will be going to an EB games tomorrow, buying some crappy sports title, and taking it to the shop of the future. Feels good to be Canadian right now.
 
And yet, here in the US, FIFA 14 PS3 gets me $20 at Gamestop towards the PS4 version while the X360 version gets $50 towards XB1 version. Grrrr
 
guys, this is probably an error on that website's part;

so far, FS did not confirm this... if this happens, it'll be based on the list....
 
I'm going to bet that it's definitely a qualifier list and an awful list at that, probably something really recent.
 
So I can trade in my Wii U copies of BLOP2/AC3 and get Ghosts and AC4?

Sold.

I'll call Future Shop/Best Buy tomorrow and let you guys know what they say about which games qualify, etc...National Post states you can bring in a 4-year old game, but let's wait and see...
 
I'm almost positive it's gonna be based on a list containing only recent titles as usual. "Any" game is too good to be true.

this seems too good to be true. I could trade in something like Rock Band 1 for PS3 and get AC4 for free? seriously?
 
So....

  1. Walk in, trade in an ancient current-gen game
  2. Get BF4, COD:Ghosts, or AC4 for free
  3. Trade in the game you just got + $10 to upgrade to next-gen
  4. Visit another store, do the same for all games
  5. Profit
 
EDIT: Reserved all 3 games at 3 separate FutureShops... if this works I will be one happy gamer tomorrow :)

Usually Futureshop let's you buy the game right in store that you plan to trade!
 
There is no way this is just any current gen game right? That seems too ridiculous.

Even if it were true, I don't think I want to bother trying to beat the RFD crowd.
