Xbox One had 150 out in the wild. Even with that, only one rose to the occasion.
Who knows how many PS4s broke street date, and how many were through 'official connections.'
The console is launching in 5 days in NA and you guys are desperate to see a video of the UI? I don't get what would you get out of it. For me it would be more exciting to see the whole thing (UI included) for the first time when I receive my console.
And I still have to wait until nov 29

Not really. If it was more straightforward he would have taken a pic of the console itself first instead of him just opening a box which could mean its not a real unit until he takes the proper pics.

Finished 'enough' to play games.
Based on what is detailed in the 1.5 FW update, the only UI feature that we can't see in 1.0 is the Share Button features ( share + livestream ).
And we know that livestream feature is already working.
I have one preordered on amazon going to my wife's place. Sadly I'm on orders until the end of the year. Base is too far from home so I only go back to see the wife every other weekend.
My best bet would be to go to the BX on Friday and get lucky. The selfish guy in me says to pull rank and ask an enlisted guy to let me have his spot.

I'm guessing Sony got the supply chain to not fuck up like they did with the PS3 and Vita. I've been surprised as hell the Xbox One leaked to a civilian before the PS4. Despite being less than a week away.

How can it be fishy? It's not like Sony has an death switch built into the PS4 to destroy the console if it's activated before 15th.
The moment a products leaves their own factories and into distribution centers globally, companies are already prepared for the possibility of their products getting stolen or accidentally breaking street dates. There's nothing stopping a thief from stealing a PS4 and then showing the world what it looks like turned on.
That's the nature of the business. There's no way Sony can control things to that extent. No company can, unless it's a purely software product.
If they were on a palette and marked as damaged [legitimately] it's because they fell of the ramp while unloading or got damaged in transport. So it could be possible to have quite a few damaged goods depending on that palette size.
That's what happens after some time when you try to get your hairline shaped up while you have dreads or cornrows.

You guys aren't thinking about this clearly. If any amount of goods are marked as broken/damaged, whether they are in a store OR distribution center, they are typically shipped back to a central warehouse. This is ESPECIALLY true with $400 electronics items that can possibly be refurbished and resold. So, when an item is marked broken/damaged, it is still in the inventory system. No one gets to simply take the goods home and they certainly aren't just destroyed. It would make no sense for a business to have a system in place where items marked broken/damaged simply aren't accounted it for, and it would make no sense for a manager to simply mark a single item broken/damaged, let alone 100 items that probably cost over $300 each to the corporation, and take it home or sell it.
Long story short, I don't believe what that guy's friend is proposing to do is possible, unless he wants to get very obviously caught and charged with the left of $40,000 worth of goods.
Nah... I mean before the official release.
