Thanks for the heads up, gonna pick one up today.
It's a no brainer for P5 to debut on both PS3 and Vita...however all I want is confirmation that Labrys is a character in P5, I need her in P5.
I just realized that my gmail email was "sorting" all incoming mail in to 5 different categories, without even notifying me, thus I have unread mails from the past 6 or so months... Funny enough, going through all the mess, I found a promo from Sony, giving me trial code for 30days of PS+. As I'm already an active subscriber, I cannot redeem the key, so I will give it away to one of you, vitaBros, who have yet to check on PS+.
There is only one restriction, made by Sony - "Current or previous Plus members are not eligible to redeem a 30 day trial.". If anyone have yet to try PS+ and want a 30 trial code, just quote me here, and I'll get in touch via PM as soon as I can. First come, first serve.

I think they're just keeping her in the arena series seeing as there's gonna be another one. But who knows.

Honestly I would love to have the code but baekshi will already give me his code on the 15th. Maybe some other Plus-less Vitabro instead. Very tempting to have this now though.
PS+ came to Vita too soon. As the platform has so few major quality games they've run into the issue where if they add games like LBP (and Soul Sacrifice - which they already have) they're telling people if they wait a few months they can get the game for the cost of a subscription.
SCEE advertising Vita isn't a shocker. The division of the company that has restricted the platform's TV time to just a mention during MLB The Show commercials would be.
Savid Cox said they were considering putting Mirror of Fate on Vita until they saw how good it looked in 3D, and how it couldn't possible be on another platform until they ported it to PS3/360.
The Black Friday deal was just a download code with the existing Assassin's Creed bundle. The last bundle they released was The Walking Dead one in August.
As for their PS4 push, I don't recall Nintendo dropping 3DS like a stone last year. SCEA hasn't done anything for Vita the entire year in regards to marketing.

You know there is going to be a Vita release sometime in the future for Suplex Hold as well.

You're quite right because this is what it feels like for me somehow. At least with Sony published games.
The Wii U also didn't have a competing platform release on the same month. More resources are allocated to the PS4 due to this. I can think of Sony thinking along the line of "Why gamble on the Vita this year when we can win with the PS4 due to MS' errors".
Also they did release the Vita 2000 and the Vita TV. Since then Vita sales in Japan skyrocketed to more than 10 times.
To me it feels more like the Vita is marketed in Japan while the PS4 is marketed outside Japan where we can feel it.

Agree that P5 makes the most sense on PS3/Vita. 3DS would also make sense financially but I don't really see the Persona series moving to a non-Sony platform.

Been avoiding direct info on the sequel, already hyped enough for P5 that I don't need to add to that. I do agree it would be nice to see the new characters in P5 though, they could use the full RPG treatment. And the pict? Badass.

That's been the message everywhere though -- it just happens that EU gets the better end of the deal with all these day one indie freebies like Velocity Ultra and Thomas Was Alone. Stealth Bastard shortly after release, etc.
I mean, look at the culture -- everyone is afraid of buying something because of it possibly coming to plus. Oh no, I paid $7 and supported a quality developer when I could've waited 2 months and got it free with my PS+ sub. It's not a good thing.
I would be okay with them just changing those games out instead of some of the newer ones leaving, but just leaving them there? I don't think that's right.

I know what you mean. Hell, I know the feeling too, bought VLR 1 month before it went free on PS plus. Same for Disgaea 3 absence. Soul sacrifice I have no regrets for buying day one though.

It doesn't make sense to have a restriction for a trial account though.
Sony would probably have liked to wait, but they also needed to do something to get sales going and Plus seems like a good bet. Unfortunately it likely hasn't worked as well as they had hoped.
Agreed, it's an unfortunate side-effect. I try to have the attitude that if I am excited for and enjoy a game then it doesn't matter if I could have had it for free a few months later. I do understand those who feel differently though

I agree. There's something about 2D games that I just quite like. Maybe because it won't deteriorate? I imagine myself playing this 20 years later and still being amazed by its beauty.
In my place, PS+ is not that popular. The 2nd hand market is very large where there's no shortage of games being sold even the new ones like AT2 and Senran Kagura. The perception of the digital market is vastly different and most of the people here feel the need to have a physical copy so I guess it doesn't matter if the IGC doesn't change.

That might have been a solid excuse for the holiday season, but the problem is that SCEA has been apathetic towards the platform the entire year. They sent Killzone: Mercenary, and Soul Sacrifice to die with no push. You can't just take a year off and expect things to rebound when you have a platform in as dire a situation as Vita is. They tried that doing that with PSP and failed in North America because by the time they started to care the market didn't anymore.
Stick It To the Man is available for Pre-order. But not for Vita. So basically no buy. I hope the reviews are good news -_-.
And I don't get the PS+ stance. Do people not know not to buy games in the ladt week of the month? And do people not buy their games to play them? I mean, I only buy a game when I'm going to play it immediately. There's no point in building a backlog just so it can go down and price and you practically lose money.

It's crossbuy anyway and the Vita version is delayed. It makes sense to only have the PS3 version for preorder.

With the recent ports (Sound Shapes, flOw, Flower, Escape Plan) the Vita also got a version. So I guess we can hope for Journey and Unfinished Swan, too? I mean it wouldn't make seense to port Flower but not Journey, with the latter being much better received critically. I can understand flOw because it's technically pretty simple but Journey and Flower shouldn't be too different from a technical difficulty standpoint.

They look great to me, been playing P3P, Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins, God Eater, Metal Slug and Patchwork Heroes transfer real well to the OLED screen. A much crisper, colorful picture.
Also, customizable controls are a godsend, especially for games like RE1,2,3.
Vita resolution is exactly quadruple PSP resolution, so PSP games are displayed with 2x2 pixels.
And if you somehow don't like how sharp and clean it looks, there's also an optional bilinear filter you can enable, if that floats your boat.
2D games look nice. 3D games look horrible.
