With the Wii U they got TW101, which is the only new character-focused IP they have on the console.

My top ten reasons for not wanting a Golden sun rep:

reason 10:
The characters look like generic RPG heroes.
reason 9:
There are much better places for generic RPG heroes.
reason 8:
The series is hardly relevant anymore.
reason 7:
The game should partly be dismissed on fugly artwork alone.
reason 6:
I'm already willing to accept Shulk, allowing more than 1 generic shitty blonde RPG hero would screw up my blood pressure.
reason 5:
That hand move would make Fludd seem good.
reason 4:
Golden Sun 2's protagonist is even more generic than 1.
reason 3:
Because at no point thinking of a golden sun rep makes me feel like I'd be extremely happy and excited to try and play as it.
reason 2:
Because I'd prefer as many female characters on the roster as possible, so only the most logical & relevant male chars make sense to me.
reason 1:
Because I already have low expectations, so I don't want the roster clogged with trash.

Golden Sun > your favorite franchise

Fantastic stories, music, at the time fantastic visuals for the gba, great balance of fun and fast rpg combat and puzzles making use of the various psynergy. Psynergy itself has so many cool abilities that would work well in the smash universe.

Saying the cast of Golden Sun is generic is just wrong, we get to learn more about Isaac and Felix thanks to the opposite game they weren't the lead character in and through others interactions with them. The way Isaac was used in Brawl was horribly depressing.

Hell a new golden sun game came out in 2010, what's this crap about it not being relevant? It came out the same year as the last metroid game. I guess metroid isn't relevant either :P

Also when were ice climbers ever relevant before they were announcement? Or pit? Also Golden Sun is the only franchise that had an assist but no playable characters since Brawl's release to get a new game.

I would like to assume that we might get a new game based on mysterious marasume castle since It could easily exxplain why Sakurai visited P* Game studio since I'm hoping that it would be for a reason that Sakurai would ask Kamiya for new design for Takamaru.
 
I can't say with 100% certainty golden sun will get a rep in smash, but then again nobody can especially with how crazy Sakurai can be. No one in a million years would have seriously expected wii fit trainer or mr g&w or snake, or captain falcon, or ice climbers until they were already confirmed? The fact golden sun did get an assist trophy spot shows Sakurai is aware of the franchise and has considered it at some point in Brawl's development.

No joke, I've been expecting Monita to replace ROB since the initial reveal. Then again it seems like Sakurai wanted to get the "unexpected controversial" character out of the way first with the Wii Fit Trainer reveal.

I just hope revealing a character like that so early with none but two newcomers in the past five months being shown isn't a sign that Sakurai is running out of ideas. I've been incredibly skeptical about Smash 4 even prior to it's reveal not only cause I felt Brawl's roster was mostly flawless, but also because Nintendo just really hasn't been trying much to create new interesting character-driven IPs.

Obviously there's Kid Icarus, Steel DIver, Dillon, Pushmo, Art Style series, Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Zangeki no Reginleiv..

Why would she replace R.O.B. and not just be added to the roster? Lol.
 
Sin and Punishment rep is one of my most wanted next to Little Mac, probably would be Saki I'm guessing. I can imagine an awesome S&P stage too.

Why would she be considered at all? ROB represents an era and a beloved hardware peripheral. Monita's just kind of a deadpan snarker guide character.

Nintendo Land stage would be the bee's knees though.

Rob represents Gyromite, there's no way in hell he would have gotten in otherwise.
 
I don't think I'd shed a tear if ROB was dropped, if it meant making room for someone new.

Speaking of dropping characters, Ness and Falcon have to be given at this point, right? Smash has practically defined those characters. (I just don't want to find Ness completely replaced by Lucas)

They're both part of the Smash 64 roster, so I don't think they'll be going anywhere.
 
So I was thinking about new potential items again (yes, I like having items on, I guess i'm not a pro) and was thinking that including an item from new 3D world seems like a given. Which item do you think they would include?

At first I was thinking the bell - cat suit because obvious reasons being who wouldn't want to see Bowser or Ganondorf rocking a cat suit? Then I wondered if that would be too much work than it's worth (having to design a cat suit that fits everyone's proportions).

Second thought which I think would be really interesting would be the double cherries. Pick it up and you get a second copy of yourself following you around and copying your moves! I loved this idea but then got to thinking how crazy it would get if Ice Climbers or Olimar were to pick one of these bad boys up. If they are concerned about the 3DS not being able to handles 4 Ice Climber battles (16 characters on stage at once) then I'm sure 4 Ice Climber battles with all having double cherries would never work.

couldn't really think of any other items that seem as intriguing as these two that I would want included. What are your thoughts?
