Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

I am guessing that MAYBE, periodically through the stage, the planets will fall away, and you will have to stay on the platforms until you land on the next planet or ship. I think some sort of Donkey Kong/Mario 64/Rainbow Road stuff has had mechanics like that before.

But it could just be one planet!

Miiverse seems to indicate it'll indeed have a gravity gimmick similar to how planetoids work in Galaxy:

Pic of the day. A new stage, Mario Galaxy!! The pull of gravity emanates from the center of the planet, so this will require using brand-new tactics.

Damn beaten. Oh well, Gameplay on this will be awesome.

HOLY SHIT TWO PICS

"Here's what happens when you stand by the edges. Vertical jumps and getting hit upward will shoot you up diagonally."

You can tell by Mario and Samus that the attacks will loop round the gravity of the stage rather than hit the edge and go straight.

Where did this come from?

Hmm... The comment seems to suggest new gravity physics with the stage. So I'm assuming it isn't just a scrolling stage where the camera is upright the entire time but it possibly flips with everyone fighting upside down or maybe any character can run to any part of the sphere when ever they want. Though the stage seems to big for that.

Edit, I typed that before the 2nd pic. I don't think this stage scrolls at all.

I expect three pictures next week...and a piece of super surprise cake.

I can't get over how beautiful that stage looks.

then I realize it's weird gimmick will get boring and annoying after the 5th or 6th time and never play on it again ._.

Better than lava and crap like that at least, I like the unique but not hazard-filled stages.

Absolutely amazing pics. I have a bad feeling it'll be banned by tourney players though by its different physics and (possible) walk-off edges.

Also loving all of these references. Lubba and Co-Star Luma on the Starship Mario, Toad Brigade ships, Airships. Wow.

Hope the Comet Observatory is in the background too.

Probably going to fix Bowser's foot, eh, Sakurai?
