I don't have one pre ordered but will amazon be heading to a similar mess up with the Xbox next week?
If it is UPS, I would guarantee it. And if I had one preordered, I'd cancel it and take my chances running between retail locations.

Yea. The ultimate twist is the downside of the Friday launch is if you miss the date you can really get screwed over. My vita launch went well with amazon but after this mess with the ps4 I won't do online pre orders for consoles ever again.
 
Newegg didn't sent my package in time for an airplane last night now I have to wait until Monday to get my PS4. Fucking bullshit. I'm so done with them. I should have ordered with Gamestop and pick it up at midnight ;/
 
Sorry to hear that. It isn't Amazon though, it is their shipping partner. Packages I get from Amazon that are not UPS always arrive when they should.

I'd say the problem for Amazon is that placing smaller orders has become a headache (bumped up to $35, but then half of the items aren't eligible for the shipping OR prime two day delivery) and while larger orders process fine, they don't get delivered on time.

It is getting to the point where an elbow to the ribs on black friday seems like a pleasure by comparison.

I don't agree with this. UPS didn't even have my package until 1:30 in the afternoon today. They can't deliver what they don't have.

Edit: Correction; 3PM is when UPS got it, I guess. That's when they did the origin scan. 1:30pm was when Amazon made it "ready for UPS"
 
Well after leaving bad feedback i had them call me. I got to speak to another representative, the third one but the first by phone call. She immediately knew what it was and acted like she had been dealing with it all day long. She offered me $60 in promo credit. Then said that they will investigate the issue, still no date of when i should expect it. She even recognized it as a very important order before i even stated it as such.

Thanks to everyone who shared what they went and are going through it was really helpful. WIth the promo i can deal with it being a little late. Still shouldnt have happened and should make sure they fix it for the future but they tried to make good and thats whats important. Sad to see the amount has ranged wildly from a few bucks to $100. If its all the same issue and since they know about it there should be one amount.

im not going to email and complain to them but...kinda ridiculous that i ordered like june 10th? or whatever the very first day was. and i didnt get mine ...so much for launch day edition or whatever

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. My system has been in UPS' hands for 48 hours, in state, and is probably on hour fourteen of bouncing around the back of a truck. Never had an issue with Amazon when they were not using UPS.

In this case, we have actually confirmed that despite Amazon giving us notification the package was delivered to sender (UPS) yesterday at 6am, they failed to actually deliver them to UPS for almost another 30+ hours following that, clearly not enough time to make it to us the same day they were shipped out. It was definitely a mistake on Amazon's end for our orders. They really messed it up big.
 
I ordered from Newegg, it shipped from Cali to Phoenix but it hasn't left the shipping center apparently. I don't even have plane issues and it still missed delivery

Got done with my call. Amazon didn't even off me anything for this, lol. Then again, the lady I spoke to, I wasn't crazy about her.

I may call back and see if I can get some sort of credit added to my account or SOMETHING.

Hold the phone. I just literally got an update scan... In Jacksonville.... Projected delivery on the 18th...

Mine just updated to Jacksonville as well. However the deliver estimate is today at 8pm, guess they have a working delorean.

I am traveling to Jacksonville on Tuesday for work, just when my os4 is coming to tampa. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

What is the chance it will get delivered on saturday at 8pm like it says?

I guess my Xbox One will only cost me $399 at least now. Pretty hollow victory. Hurray for 1st world problems.

I think you hit the nail in the head with "amazon you were the chosen one". I have spoken highly of amazon to many friends and coworkers. But they fucked up when it really matters.

Yeah, they had to have known internally they hadn't shipped these, Amazon doesn't just lose stuff. Or maybe they did in this situation for a period of time, just a misplace pallet perhaps. Regardless, finding out Friday night your PS4 comes Monday is a pretty shitty start to a weekend.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. It just goes to show you have to appreciate them and cherish the time you have as much as possible, as this stuff can come out of no where. (The dogs, not the PS4's)
 
This just sucks for me, as I have had to hospitalize my dog over the last two days, at an expense of over $3,000, to find out she has multiple tumors on her heart, liver, and spleen. This was the distraction I was looking forward to, to keep my mind off her poor self in a strange place with IV's and stuff. Amazon has really kicked a guy while he is already down on this one. Dammit. Such a 1st world problem, but damn.

Also, I don't know how reliable the shipping information is. My package was in Sumner, Wa last night and apparently shipped to Portland Oregon, just to come back to Sumner this morning. I can't see how that really happened.
 
So my brother in laws was updated to Jacksonville an hour or so ago as were other Orlando area GAFers. Mine still has no updates past the label creation so at this point I'm going to assume Amazon set it on fire pissed on it and tossed it in a tree shredder.


I should just close this tab and stop looking at it until Monday, it's making me a crazy person.
 
It's only annoying to me because I passed up two PS4's for the day already.

Walked into target at opening to swap out a game and they thought I wanted a console.

I was in Target earlier and they had like 4 behind the register. I made a comment to my friend that maybe I should buy one now just in case(because UPS hadn't updated since 6am Thursday) and he told me not to worry about it. Aaaaaand my gut instinct was right...

Nobody is going to talk me out of buying stuff ever again. 4realz!
 
I picked it up at UPS will call an hour ago. The woman at the counter instantly knew what it was. Said she helped over 50 people who held them for pickup today, just from Amazon.
 
Overnighted ps4 because Newegg gave me a little deal on it, I pay full overnight charge and will be refunded most back, guess what nothing, here in NYC.

Checked status, said will be delivered today then all of a sudden in the last five mutes it says N/A, kind of crap is this?
Same with me bro.

I overnight it and it never showed up. In fact, the FedEx tracking says "Picked up" :/

IT'S STILL IN CALI. IT NEVER FUCKING MADE IT TO NY.
 
I'm in the Monday club (still fighting.) The kicker is the depot where the UPS site says the package is is 5 miles from my house, so I contacted UPS to see if I could pick it up myself tomorrow, only to be informed it's not actually at that depot! It's somewhere else, who knows, they just like to lie on their tracking page....

Maybe they will figure out where it really is by tomorrow and I can just pick it up.
 
My PS4 is still listed as "On Vehicle For Delivery Today." It's been that way since 8:50 AM, almost 14 hours ago. I just checked Amazon, and they've got this doozy for the tracking history:

It's still "on schedule" despite it already being 2 hours past the 8 PM deadline. Oh, and somehow it "arrived" in Middleburg Heights at 5 AM, went out for delivery at 8 AM, then somehow "arrived" again at 11 AM.

I preorded the console within 10 minutes of it going up on Amazon on June 10th. I can't fault Amazon since it seems they shipped it out yesterday. The thing apparently entered La La land when it got to the UPS center in Middleburg Heights.

FWIW the 2nd rep I spoke with said that they wanted to ship these earlier in the week but didn't get approval from Sony to ship them out from the warehouses until as late as possible because they were scared of leaks after what had happened with Target and the XB1. Evidently they waited too long because the consumers got fucked in the end.

Could just be bullshit but it sounded kind of plausible so I guess he's good at doing his job.

Just got off the phone with another person at Amazon and they said my order is late, but will arrive tomorrow. He said something along the lines of "due to shipping issues a lot of peoples shipments have been changed to Saturday shipping".

Hope this is true. Got a $15 credit... ha whatever.

Having UPS hold it is is not a guarantee.

There is a wide range of problems with the shipping in this thread but the most consistent was that Amazon fucked up our orders, didn't tell us soon enough, and now we are stuck with our accounts already charged.

For me and plenty of others it was the fact that Amazon never got it to UPS in time... So UPS can't hold what they don't have.

Just got off a chat with UPS. Apparently they heeded my "hold" and left it at the customer center. How the hell I was supposed to know that since their website listed it as "On Vehicle For Delivery," I haven't a clue.

Of course at 6 PM, a UPS chat representative claimed they were unable to intercept the package and it had been put on the truck for delivery. Now I can't pick it up until Monday. Supposedly. At this point, when I show up on Monday, I'm expecting UPS to disavow any knowledge of handling my PS4.

That sounds a lot more likely then Amazon legitimately dropping the ball themselves. Even this just sounds a little off though, you would think Amazon would know the absolute limits of what they can pull off shipping wise. Who knows though, maybe we will get a bit more clarity on this at some point.
 
I just sent amazon a follow up email to my customer service phone chat. I just wanted to let them know how disappointed I am with how everything turned out. And I stressed the inconvenience of getting my package tomorrow (while no one will be home) versus today when I was home all day and that I've been a loyal customer for years. I also let them know that I would have picked up a ps4 in a local store of I knew they were going to do me dirty. I'll see what they respond with (if anything)
