snake is fucking awesome and if he isn't in smash 4 i'll be sad
Yeah if being part of Nintendo's biggest crossover doesn't just justify his part in "Nintendo History" or whatever people want as a justification for character appearing the I don't know what else to say.
The MGS universe fit pretty well within smash, it brought an unexpected and unorthodox fighter to the mix, don't see what's wrong with it.
That's funny, because I haven't seen a solid reason to get rid of him outside of silly fanboy "purity" nonsense.
Sakurai has a bunch of friends in the industry, but do you think if the creator of some low budget indie game wanted his character in Smash Bros. Sakurai would just go ahead and surrender? Of course not. Kojima's request instigated the process, but it was not the only factor. Solid Snake happens to be one of the most well-known video game characters from one of the most popular video game series.
“I think I can say generally that there won’t be a trend of adding a lot of third-party characters,” Sakurai says. “You can sort of think of Mega Man as being the special case.”
"We don’t have the time to fully recreate every single character who’s been in Smash Bros at this point"

Sure. I just wanted to barf up some quotes, too.
Still though, there is nothing that suggests that Sakurai thinks Snake is important to the franchise overall and not just some one-off character.
Oh yeah. Wolf needs a better up smash...Dare I say I wouldn't have minded too much if it was an clone of fox's.
Uh, really? I feel thats the thing that needs to be changed most.
Also, Falco needs the sniper.
Just like there's nothing that suggests that Sakurai is going to cut him.
Mii sounds obvious but meh
Little mac?
Are we talking about cuts again?
NO CUTS.
I think that Snake should be replaced by Bomberman.
Bomberman can kick bombs , punch them , make them bounce and make them grow.
He also has the detonator bomb that is movable and could have mechanic where his bomb explosion range increases and even he could get caught in the explosion by being reckless just like real game.(He could also have mechanic for Speed Up and to increase the number of bombs that he has.)
He is a neat character that I think would bring like a reckless style of play but would be very fun to mess around with.
In a ideal world , Snake would appear to do some attack then gets bomb kicked at him that explodes in his face then Bomberman appears with new challenging approaching appears. They could make mention of his nickname " The White Bomber".
Bomberman has many colors already that are legit like Black Bomber and all Gold Bomberman.
I really don't think that he would be character that is on Sakurai's mind at all though , he was popular with long history but he was niche at the same time.In his death , many didn't really care that he was gone and moved on without any feelings toward him. For me I was like Hudson gamer and would follow them at any console that game was made on but nothing lives forever.
One final appearance in smash would do it for me and I would stop resenting Konami so much but I am already starting to hate them more for ignoring indie group Labzero with patches for their game.In the end they had to like cut ties with Konami to have future with the game on consoles.
My newcomer list:
1.Ridley
2.Anthony
3.Lucina
4.Palutena
5. Female PKMN Trainer
6.Takamaru
7.Ghirahim
8.Toon Zelda
9.Mega Mewtwo Y
10.Little Mac
No one will be in this game. ;_;

As far as other Nintendo characters, maybe there could be a kind of generic "Nintendo man" that transforms into different characters on an attack by attack basis? That way we could have playable cameos for many smaller characters, as well as bigger characters for his final smash?
I wonder, is there any other character that could evoke the reaction that Snake did in 2006? I'm guessing not, because a large part of that was due to the revelation of third party characters being a factor. Even so, what other characters might get that kind of fevered response?
I would have thought Mega Man would do it, but I was wrong. In hindsight I think that's because he seemed so likely to the point where some people were even taking it for granted. A character to really blow minds would need to be something nobody had expected.
Banjo-Kazooie? I think no one would expect it coming since it's Microsoft IP now.
Yeah, many people really want to see Mega Man in Smash but we're not sure of it's fate since we know how Capcom took good care of it.
Yeah that would be a surprise, all right... lol. I'm not sure if Banjo/Kazooie are popular enough though to really make people go nuts. Maybe that's just me (although I was a huge BK fan on N64).and bolts
2) A bunch of supporting characters from Nintendo Games which are not [...] Palutena [...]
Speaking of Capcom, I wonder how Mega Man ended up in Smash.

\.
- Nintendo: "Hey Capcom, we think MegaMan was a big part of Nintendo history, so we'd like to put it in one of our most successful franchise. And we want him to look like he looked on NES."
- Capcom: "Sure, we don't give a fuck about him anymore."
- Nintendo: "Thank you Capcom"

To be honest, Mega Man's inclusion in Smash pretty much perfectly fits in line with Capcom's approach to handling Mega Man and its fanbase in recent years. It just happens to be something people actually wanted instead of their usual approach of dropping fecal matter on everyone's heads.
It's something designed to "appease" fans of the series, while not actually requiring almost any work or spending of any money. Capcom probably begged Nintendo to put Megs in this one.
What are the chances of Ike and Falco getting in?
What are the chances of Ike and Falco getting in?
Falco? Well since Toon Link got in and Falco has been there for 2 games already... Very likely.
Ike? Very likely too, he's a unique character, not a clone so I can't imagine Sakurai cut him just because unless there's time restraints.
