Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Tearaway this friday on PSN?

Hell yeah son! Anyone know if it's going up at midnight?

Top of the page..

Buy Tearaway this week! We've all complained long enough about not having new (and good) titles for Vita - do your part!

Also Velocity Ultra is pretty damn good so... maybe that?

I sort of doubt this. They already have every single studio working on a PS4 game.
It was already clarified that every studio working on ps4 doesn't mean that they are working only on ps4.
The bad news is that instead of making new vita games they make ports of flower, gow collection and dead nation, good games, but that no one asked for, instead of wasting money on 3 ports i would have spent those money on a single big good exclusive first party vita game or at least 3 good exclusive medium/little games.
Petition to "Localize Tales of Innocence R and Tales of Hearts R for PS Vita"

If you're a Tales fan, it would be nice if you could join this petition.
They are bad games, the best thing is the 2d minigame in tales of heart r.

I'm going to intercept your copy and destroy it.

Heh.

Anything is better than nothing.

On Friday my Vita will be one month old, and so far I really loved almost everything about it. I managed to complete just two games (LBP and Touch my Katamari), but the system itself is great, fast and the OLED screen is simply beautiful.

Sure, there are some things that should be fixed (I've already talked about this in the previous thread but this really rustle my jimmies: I can't stand the fact that everything is a separate app, including friends, messaging and trophies, everything require a separate launch and everything), but it's definitely a great console. And, by comparison, I played with Vita in this month much more than I did in the first month with PSP when I bought it nine years ago. I already have a game library bigger than my PSP one, too bad the 8GB memory card included in the box is too small (I'll get a bigger one -hopefully a 64GB- for Christmas).
It's great when I have just those five-ten minutes free and I don't know what to do, WipeOut 2048 and LBP helped a lot to keep the phone in my pocket and do something else than just refreshing the Twitter feed.

I'm really tempted to buy Tearaway on Friday, 30 euros isn't that much and I might bite, but I wanted to have something to play on Christmas. I guess I'll take some more money with me just in case :D

Yup, those Tales games are horrible, just like they were on the DS. =/

Hopefully they'll port some good ones from the PS3, for example. That or make some original ones.

Very unlikely. It's more likely that they'll port handheld games rather than PS3 ones since it'll take more time adjusting it to make it stable on the Vita.
It depends, if the sony teams localize them instead of other better games
type 0
then no thanks, if it's namco bandai itself to localize them then it's ok to me.
Agreed. Well Sony is at least interested in localizing
Type-0
. It's all up to
Square Enix
to make it happen.

Just got a used vita. Love the screen but the body feels a bit cheap(I think psp felt better IMO) anyway, wanted some game suggestions. It can be indie, psp and psOne.

So I got a credit card for PS+.

Put some codes then it said that a billing information was needed. I correctly put in every needed data in the blanks except the existing address and stuff you needed to make an PSN account.

So my problem is it said my info was incorrect. Now I know that everything I put was correct and the only thing that was forged was my address since I don't live in the US.

What do I do?

------
So I just got this from my FB feed. Now I know why Angry Birds bombed on the PS Vita.

Is it a valid address? Valid zip code? Maybe it checks if the credit card matches the address?

Not a valid address. Zip code was Manhattan's. Obviously the zip code doesn't match my credit card's.

Can I have a US PSN account while having my address in another country?

No thanks, tell me when someone petitions XSEED to release Sen no Kiseki instead.

So choosy! I can see why there's a lot of trouble localizing stuff...

Man, anybody is asking you to pay for this. You only need to sign and help my little wish come true :(

And we have Trails in the Sky 2 coming next year. Sen no Kiseki could be the game after that (they'll skip TitS 3, Zero and Ao, but that's better than nothing). Is a PS3 / Vita release, so they will aim at a bigger install base.

Could try a valid address to see if that would solve the issue and change it later. I just search for a certain state's Dominos or Walmart on Google or such.

So, I just bought one of these off Ebay but it doesn't come with a memory card. I don't think I'll have a large library of games for this thing so was curious just how big of a card would be sufficient for me. Would a 16gb be good enough?

Ehh yes that's why it's so cheap.

You order and they send it to you as soon as they get supply. Took them 2-3 weeks in my case.

ok, thanks!

Trying to get a UK gaffer to order it and send it to me in the BST thread and britgaf, since there is a laughable import tax on electronics over ~£20. :(

Do you have paypal? Try applying for a hopshopgo account.

Or just use comgateway. Free us shipping address. Should work.

No don't have paypal. Everything seems complicated just for TRIAL PS+ account. Goddamnit Sony, it's a trial account why the need for credit cards?!

Credit card error according to a quick google search, guessing your non-US card isn't going to work on the US store. Does Paypal work for it instead?

;__; . I'm too lazy to even try this without evidence that it will work.

This will undoubtedly restrain me from buying games digitally. Sony, you just don't want my money don't you?

Because they want you to pay for a subscription after the trial ends :P

Yeah, I've seen the long ass TOS and figured I'll just cancel the auto-subscribe from SEN website. This friggin sucks. If I can't use my code, I might as well give it to someone who can use it.

Anybody here needs a 30-day trial PS+ code?

Edit: So if I buy a $10/$20/$50 card or a 1month/3months/1yr PS+ subcription, do I have to do this all over again? If it does, I'll cry.

You gotta introduce me to the robber! Prices like that is literally a steal!

If it comes with the charger, maybe he just wanted to sell them as an early Christmas gift?

Edit: Does it come with memory cards? If it does then goddamn that's amazing!
Yeah, nobody would sell something like that for that price, but then again, not a lot of people own a Vita.

He got a 4gb memory card with the Vitas, but that was it.

Damn why does MK look so terrible?

Neather Realm struggled to get Mortal Kombat running at 60fps on home consoles, because Unreal Engine 3 kind of sucks. Vita has less UE3 documentation than PS3/360/PC because Epic hasn't made a game for it, so it's even harder to get it running at 60fps. It is ugly, but it runs at the frame rate it's meant to, and it's content complete.

Yup, those Tales games are horrible, just like they were on the DS. =/

Hopefully they'll port some good ones from the PS3, for example. That or make some original ones.

Neither of the DS remakes sold well, to the point where Tales of Hearts R was ported to iOS last month. Namco's side of the business seems to be ignoring Vita now outside of God Eater which was announced pre-ToHR bomba.

So, I just bought one of these off Ebay but it doesn't come with a memory card. I don't think I'll have a large library of games for this thing so was curious just how big of a card would be sufficient for me. Would a 16gb be good enough?

Are you planning on mostly buying retail games? If so, 16GB would probably be fine. If you're a PS+ user 16GB might be fine if you don't mind having to delete games (don't forget to upload your save via PS+ Cloud Storage) to make room for other ones. You'll be able to redownload them as many times as you'd like. If you're going all digital, and don't like juggling content you might struggle even with the largest card available.

The best option would be to create a running size tally of what you want to play. Retail games usually state what the file size is that they need to run on the front of the box. At least in North America, the PS Store lists the complete file sizes for games. Do note, neither accounts for any potential patches.

Media Molecule and Guerrilla are both major first party studios that, gasp, worked on Vita and PS4 games simultaneously. You don't need to make things up in order to make a point.

I don't believe Guerrilla Cambridge were working on a PS4 game while Mercenary was in development.

Got a PS Vita the same day as PS4 launch. My impressions so far:

Pros
- Beautiful screen
- Touch screen is very responsive
- Great PSN integration with PS3, PS4, and older PSX/PSP games
- Remote play!

Cons
- I kind of prefer analog nubs like PSP/3DS. My thumb keeps hitting the right stick when trying to hit X
- Few Vita games I want. Mostly been doing remote play and PSX classics.
- Memory card prices are ridiculous. Was surprised that there is no internal storage.
- Rear touch panel - I've been conditioned to grip controllers, so this is weird to me.

Wasn't it part of Guerilla Games like SSM has 3 teams?

These can be remedied by buying a grip.

I hold grudges.

My ninjas will be deployed at every JB and EB in Perth.

Make your time.
Aytrial pls.
I'm a cheapo so I'll probably be out buying a copy at a department store. :P

Your Otaku Ninjas can't defeat me!
Depends on how long I sleep in

I prefer the Vita ones over the PSP analog stick due to my thumb slipping off of it every now and then. The analog nubs on the 3DS I do prefer over the Vita ones aswell though but the Vitas two analog nub placements are much more comfy than having to use the circle pad pro on the 3DS.

Freedom Wars will be developed by Shift (God Eater), and Dimps (a whole lot of stuff, notably Street Fighter IV and some bad Sonic games). It's a 2014 release on Vita.

I see. lol. I was under the impression that they're of the same team since the similar names and games and all. :P

I think Cambridge helped out with the creation of the KZ2/KZ3, and has probably done a lot of support work for the Netherlands studio.

Huh. Well, I guess I shouldn't ever expect a game to be developed by Japan Studio when the headliner says Japan Studio.

I see a few on Amazon. Any recommendations?

Thats one plus I forgot. As much as I love 3DS, it is ergonomically painful for long gaming sessions. Vita is much more comfortable.

Hori is very comfortable and is the official grip of PS Vita while Nyko is also great because some models can add battery life.

Santa Monica is usually upfront about that though.

This looks promising. I'm getting hyped about the game. Hopefully, it delivers, provides a compelling experience and can be distinguishable from God Eater so it won't be labeled as a GE copy. :D
