DF: PS4 COD frame judder caused by frame rate HIGHER than 60fps

Well, we were waiting for word from DF and here it is. A final twist in the tale!

Taking the affected clips and running them through our performance analysis tools, we expected the results to show clear frame-rate drops and small bouts of tearing, but surprisingly this wasn't the case at all, with the results showing us a largely locked 60FPS bar one or two minor dips and a solitary torn frame. Furthermore, when seeking through the footage in performance-affected areas we were confronted with unique frames on a consistent basis, thus indicating a 60fps update that we just didn't feel when playing the game.

So just what is going on? Well, a close look at our captures reveals that Call of Duty: Ghosts actually runs at higher frame-rates than 60fps on a fairly frequent basis, despite the video output being limited to 60Hz

BAM! How bizarre.
Still needs fixed, of course.

120fps

Ken Kutaragi was right all along

So there may have been some truth to that "Call Of Duty unoptimized on PS4 running at 90fps" rumor that was going around a while back.

So frame rises over 60fps are bad now?

Yes, most people prefer a stable frame rate and are sensitive to jumping around even at high than 60 fps. Better to run at the frame rate of the screen you are using or at least integer values of it.

PS4 too powerful for CoD, confirmed.

Makes the review comments about PS4's framerate so much worse than the XB1 version quite amusing.

So polygon gives the PS4 version a lower score because it has a higher framerate? That's hilarious

So the rumors where true porting cod took like 3 weeks and running at 90 fps or something like that?

Sounds like it. So much for frame rate issues lol. They should just be able to patch a fix for this. Did any of the outlets ever mention similar extreme frame rate issues as Joystiq? Because I found their particular take rather interesting.

Also, what about Polygon's review now? Turns out it's not only a better resolution but a more consistent frame rate too?
