Live countdown to major Persona team announcement from Atlus [Summary in OP]

Even then, "a few days after" is still half of the week gone. A day of investigation and a day of travel to Port Island and that's pretty much all of it - they'd pretty much have to finish up right then and there. But then Dark Hour shenanigans will likely happen to explain any extra time needing to be spent.

I'd be very disappointed if they end up with that approach as I highly doubt the P4G epilogue was written to take into account more than one fighting game. Just seems too retconney this way.

I think you're trying too hard to justify it in your head, as evident by the absurd amount of assumptions you're making to fit it in a hypothetical week with almost no story details of the sequel.

This is it my dream. This story will take place a few years after P4 and it will be about the team of P3 and P4 working together to
save the MC from P3 after Elizabeth returns with a way to save the MC but gets caught up in something that has to do with another midnight like theme.
This is my dream.

No it's a nightmare.

All I'm trying to say is that you're also making assumptions based on little to no story details as well since you seemed to make the P4A2 before P4G bit in the timeline as concrete. That's all. :P

No I'm going off what was explicitly stated within the respective games. From what we've been told as of right now, it occurs a few days after the event of P4A, which is the first day of Golden Week as per Narukami and Aigis's story modes.

At any rate, we're getting horribly off-topic. So lets drop this.

For anyone who can't access Nico Nico I'm leaving my stream up so as long as it doesn't interfere with my ability to do other stuff. Mainly, play FFXIV.

Ah thank you I was looking for a stream :). Can't believe I'm this desperate to stare at a countdown, Persona what have you turned me into?!

Soon my dream will come true.

Does anyone else beside me think that Persona 5 would be awesome as sort of a open world RPG. (with dungeons, of course)

I like the more linear and focused approach better for Persona.

Open world could work more for mainline SMT, which is more focused on exploration, though not necessarily something the size of Xenoblade or Skyrim. SMT IV already took steps in making larger field areas that take place in areas in Tokyo. I could see that taken a step further with a much more open and more interconnected world that doesn't rely on the traditional world map. Of course there'd be dungeons scattered about but the world as a whole would be pretty hostile.

If it's Persona 5, awesome, if it's Pesrona 4-2, i can deal with that, if it's a ios game or Persona arena related, i am flipping a fucking table.

Well the 72 hr thing is just incredible. I think they'd have the sense not to have a huge lead-up to an announcement of more anime, more concert, etc. I hope.

Actually, I've become much more encouraged watching these little teases. Feels almost like a Persona retrospective. Persona 5 seems like more of a lock all the time.

I'm sure they are aware of the potential for rage with this kind of lengthy setup! I'm pretty cautiously optimistic about this but the streams tarting so far ahead is kind of crazy.

You've clearly never been in love.

I was. With Capcom. . . so I'm kind of used to being let down.

Yes, I feel the same way! That's what it feels like to me, a long, 72hour retrospective.

And this is a crazy guess and probably wrong, but what if the cities listed are Persona 5's setting?

I just need some kind of reason for these cities to be there, what do you guys think?

I actually really like the mostly zip, zip, zip nature of Persona 3. There's some exploring but it's quick and then you're back on your way. The whole reason Persona 3 got me back into JRPGs was because everything went so quickly and still felt meaty, from going to school, building up Social Links, to training in Tartarus.

Open world is great for SMT, but I wouldn't want it for Persona.

Does anyone know what was discussed in event 4? I feel like something might have been glossed over.

Theodore from P3P. Velvet Room attendant. Elizabeth and Margaret's younger brother.

It basically goes like this:

Opening: "What day is it today?"

Calendar goes to the 21st.

Dojima: "Well, today's the day, that 'Beaujolais Whatchamacallit' Day where they bring out a new batch. I can't say I really know my way around wine or anything, but...."

Dojima: "Still, you're too young to go drinking, so no wine for you. You can look forward to it after you turn 20!"

I had to do some research to know what he's talking about, but apparently he's referencing Beaujolais Nouveau Day, which just took place today/yesterday in Japan. Apparently it's a yearly celebration to commemorate the release of a new batch of wine produced in France. I don't know anything about it all, but apparently it's a big day among wine connoisseurs in Japan and elsewhere, too.

Not sure what to make of this. I don't recall this conversation being in the original game, but I could be wrong?

Basically, of course those are the locations.

Ah okay. Thought it was a bit odd that ANN actually got Persona news before PersonaGAF. So I guess you guys did figure it out. :p

I saw the cities on the actual Persona site, but really, didnt think that the places in the video were those cities, mainly because I can't friggin tell.

Thanks so much for this.

I don't recall this conversation in P4G, at least directly translated as such, so I assume that it's custom made for this stream. Seems like an odd thing to put time into, heh.

No No

They gotta go weird

P5 in an entirely other continent.

Frigging NewYork. Or Like London or some stuff

Why I dunno its hype.

Wow thanks for this! I don't remember this conversation either. That is very... Odd, to say the least. A bunch of random trailers and then something about wine on a especific date? Maybe it's to make us feel like the thing is actually live, or something? I don't really know how to explain...

P5 in a college setting

Ps4 and Vita cross save yopo

I'm dreaming, right gaf

Considering they've gone more tropey and cliche from P3 -> P3 FES -> P3P -> P4 -> P4G, they're obviously going with this route:

Persona 5 will take place at a girl's only high school dorm where the goofy protagonist somehow ends up being allowed to stay as he studies for his college entrance exams but because of shenanigans has to rescue his dormmates using the power of PERSONA! Can he pass his college entrance exams while wooing the girl of his dreams and at the same time not get kicked out of the dorm by the suspicious resident manager all while trying to save the world from Shadows? Also, magical girls.
