Are you satisfied with the graphics NIntendo has been able to produce on Wii U?

Disregarding the effects the system's power has had on the 3rd party support, are you happy with how Nintendo's games have looked on Wii U?

When I look at games like 3D World it looks better than what I had in mind for a next gen Mario, so I think I will be happy especially as they have only been working with an HD system for such a short amount of time.

Yes. All I really wanted was Nintendo games but in higher IQ, and that's what I've been getting. I don't really care that it isn't as powerful as the other systems.

100%. I think that this is only the beginning as well. We saw great 2D art with NSMBU, wonderful cel-shading with WWHD, unique realism in Pikmin 3, and now solid 3D animated worlds with SM3DW.

It's only going to get better and more polished. HD Nintendo is best Nintendo.

Definitely. Now, if it was my most powerful system I might feel differently. I think it gets the job done for what you should be using it for (Nintendo games) though.

The graphics are fine, there's been some really absurd slowdown though in WWHD and Pikmin 3.

Pikmin 3 is one of my GotY, but could have looked better...

SM3DW looks fantastic.

Yes.

I dont think any game needs better graphics than what ive been seeing on the wiiu. Only thing i ask is for Nintendo to make more games. From differente genres

The Wii U is looking great enough for me.

Looking at the next-gen screenshot thread and all the Pikmin, Mario und Zelda glory, I don't really feel that I miss anything on this platform.

At the end of the day, I am using my Nintendo device for the Nintendo games and we are still at a very early stage of what is capable on the Wii U. X looked great in the trailers so far, let's see what Zelda will look like.

Definitely. Their taste in art direction is like no other. 3d world and pikmin are very visual appealing games. Excited to see how MK8, SSB, and DK look while playing it on my tv.

I someone who still has PS2 and Gamecube games to finish definitely. Art style is much more important to me than technical accomplishment. The only problem with Wii graphics for me was that it only outputted 480p so it looked a bit fuzzy on my HDTV. With Wii U outputting at 1080p that's not a problem. Sure it's always nice to have better graphics but I have no problems with weaker graphics like the Wii compared to 360/PS3.

I honestly believe the new Mario is one of the Best looking games ever. The technology and the art is just fantastic. Really want to by a Wii U just to play it.

I remember when Mario Galaxy came out a lot of people said it looked so good that it justified Nintendos decision to user older technology for the wii but seeing 3d World and seeing what Nintendo games could have looked like last gen it just makes me wonder what they could do with a console on par with the ps4 and xb1.

Yes, Nintendo is very good at the cartoony art style.

Anything more realistic may not come out so good, Project X trailers looked great except for in the urban areas (less stylised, more greyish realism), reminiscent of No More Heroes; that bad.

A hell of a lot more than I am with PS4/Xbone, but that's probably based on art style.

Yeah, it's art style, which to me is far more important than resolution. Mario 3D World is the first game that felt "next gen" to me. Just a brilliant game. Unfortunately Nintendo's issues with third parties is going to forever hold this console back. But I've resigned myself to using it for Nintendo exclusives, and if I get 3-5 a year, I'll be pleased.

Graphics? No. I think they suck, I think they're terrible and borderline last gen outside of a few lighting tricks and shaders. It's a disgrace. Art style? Yeah, mainly the new Mario. The game looks beautiful.

Yes, definitely. Many WiiU games look a hell of a lot prettier than anything currently out on PS4/Xbox One. Pikmin 3 and SMW3DU immediately come to mind.

I have been more than satisfied. Pikmin 3 looks amazing, The Wonderful 101 is stylish, Assassin's Creed 4 looks insane and Super Mario 3D World is INCREDIBLE. I am beyond happy with the Wii U graphics so far.

I'm of the opinion that once you're at ps3/360 level hardware, graphics aren't held back much by processing power. It mostly comes down to talent plus money.

Yes, I'm totally satisfied with Wii U graphics. I don't see how 3D World would look any better on ps4 class hardware, outside of being 1080p.

The gargantuan amount of aliasing on everything is jarring. Some games look pretty good, but there are a lot of low res textures, and clever tricks hiding the obvious lack of power.

This is magnified by the fact that almost all games are 720p; and it's very noticeable to someone like me.

Coming off of playing games at native 1080 on PC and PS4, I'm spoiled.

Nintendo gamers have gotten so accustomed to getting the shit end of the stick with Nintendo, that they are willing to accept just about anything from them. Any tiny little morsel is prized and cherished.

Sure Mario 3D world is fun and look pretty good, but it definitely has its flaws from a gameplay standpoint-- The run, attack, and grab button are all the same button? Christ its frustrating when four players are on the screen. But that's another topic entirely.

It's gonna be 2014 in a month and some change, and Sony proves that you can make hardware that supports 1080p gaming at an excellent price point. The framerate might not be 60 across the board, but it's damn fine for being this early in the gen.

Get it together, Nintendo.
