Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Thanks for the prompt replies. Suppose there is an incentive to not letting your Vita backlog build up, that precious space!!!

Fairly new to PS+, if a game goes free but I don't download it that month, when the new games cycle, do I still have access to the old game? That makes more sense in my head than typed out but I think you know what I mean...

As long as you added them to your download list before the end of the month, you're good.
You don't actually have to download them, but they need to be in the download list.
You'll keep access as long as you don't let your plus subscription lapse. If you then resub they become available again.
I hope that made sense.

I think that is my issue, I just don't see netwrok yet.

Takao banned and where has Carl been.

Ah yes, you may need to unlock the network options. Sorry, it's been a while since I bought it.

I'm assuming this works the same way for the PS3? I've had a vita with plus for a year, I'd buy a ps3 instantly if I got all the games that went for free in that time but oh well.

15 missions into Soul Sacrifice and I'm really not feeling it :(

It doesn't help that just about every boss hit me in the face with the "melee tax" over and over. Running around and using throw attacks on that carnivorous slime for 5min was pretty lame.

Thanks. I am highly resistant to cliches though, hahaha, even animesque cliche, so hmmm. I'd better do a little bit of research first....

Say..... the buy 60 get 10 deal has already begun right? I live in a place with 12 hours day difference from the US... so just want to make sure.

Best skits I've ever seen. That should put Graces f high on the list.

i need help... i'll buy a new vita, but vita + psplus + 16GB or vita + 5 physical games?

i'm undecided :v

vita price in chile is 250usd

It's been a while since I've played Sonic Racing Transformed, but I really don't remember it being this hard. I can't beat the After Burner track on hard to save my life right now. There was a time where I was actually pretty damn good at this game on PS3. Annoying flawless AI on that shortcut at the end. If I don't take the shortcut I'll lose since the AI always does. If I do I often screw up on it and crash in to the boxes. I need practice at this game again.

But I suppose this is a good thing. It means the Vita version should last me a while if I'm not as good as I used to be at it. Anyway the game runs really well on Vita. Amazing game.

^ nah it's 16gb and PS+ or 5 phyiscal

Depends if you are planning to go digital (16GB will be okay for a while, but then mainly as a backup), whether you have enough money for games, whether the retail games are good...if you can be bothered to sell them...what the PS+ selection in your area is like :P

Yep, the difficulties are properly labelled! Still working my way through all the stars.

I have to disagree bro.

Tales of Vesperia skits all the way. Yuri's love filled croquettes, Estelle being jealous about Judith's boobs, Karol's towell costume skit, Yuri filtring with Judith, Yuri's speaking with Repede... that game had lots and lots of skits and they have some of the funniest moments I've ever lived in gaming. Skits are like 30% of the awesomeness in Vesperia xD

Wait is the bundle 5 Vita games+Plus+16 GB? Sounds like a good deal. Trade in your 16 GB for a 32 GB though and you're golden.

nope,
pack 1 vita+ 5 games (not recent launches)
pack 2 vita + 1year PSplus + 16GB

i like both xD
i more interested in vita + physical games (for collection) but my doubt is, if the ps+ deal for 30usd will be on digital

Really depends on what the 5 games are.

is my election, maybe resistance, nfs most wanted, dead or alive+, gravity rush and blazblue

i'm sorry for my bad english

@jogden- If you're gonna use a US PS account, the offer for $30 on 1 year of Plus requires you to use a credit card to redeem the code and have Plus.

i feel the same way... i am enjoying how "tight" the gameppay is but it's tough to make my playstyle viable. i am setting my arm up with attack & weapon bonuses, casting that feather spell a lot so i can zip in and out quickly and slash away but... it still feels ineffective. i have been using weaknesses/skill attacks too but ehhh.

Ys melee looks so much nicer.... i thought SS going free would scratch the itch but i may be diving into Ys this holida weekend anyway. damn my wallet.

Anyone not feeling Soul Sacrifice should really check out God Eater Burst. The melee combat is far more satisfying and there is a jump button (!).

I couldn't get into Soul Sacrifice but immediately fell in love with GE.

Do you have any other notable choices? Persona 4 Golden is a must if you can grab it.

I want to ask again - how can you tell how much space you have left on your memory card? And can you manage your content on your PC (downloading stuff and adding it to your download list) or is it only able to be done on a Vita/PS3/PS4?

I'd go with the "pack 2 vita + 1year PSplus + 16GB".
16GBs are enough for now and the PS+ is a must. The moment you activate your Plus subscription you will have access to 5 digital games(depending on you region), most of them really, really good.
If you are from US, this week Soul Sacrifice is a freebie as well, as Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Velocity and Oddworld.
For EU, the games right now are Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Gluacamelee, Sonic Racers and GTA Liberty City (PSP).
And very month you get 2-3 new titles as well.

I want to ask again - how can you tell how much space you have left on your memory card? And can you manage your content on your PC (downloading stuff and adding it to your download list) or is it only able to be done on a Vita/PS3/PS4?

Go to the Settings APP, then scroll down to System and click System Info.
As for the the second question. You can purchase games and add them to your download list (to be downloaded on your console) from the Sony's PSN Store site.

Locked out of my PSN/SEN account. Password reset is down and trying to get hold of Sony by Live Chat.

Want to download Soul Sacrifice!

Settings > System > System Information

You can use the SEN webstore to queue up downloads that will automatically start on your Vita, but you cannot download files to your PC and then transfer them.

@jogden- If you don't mind me asking, does Chile have its own Playstation Store?
If not, I assume you'll be using the US Store correct?

Does this also lock my content for PS+? If there were something I didn't want on my card right now, can I queue it up and have it when it goes away?

Hmmm. I've never played Vesperia yet so I can't comment on this. One thing's for sure is that skits are one of the main highlights of any Tales game for me and probably for many others. Laughing Banana can't go wrong with Graces f since he said he has a high tolerance for cliches but honestly I'd get them both if you can.

Speaking of RPGs, there is one game that I'd liked to be ported on the Vita from the PS3 other than Tales of games,Gundam Vs., Dragon Quest VIII, .//Hack, Zone of the Enders and Valkyrie Chronicles. It's NieR. NieR is probably my game of the generation. Despite the flaws, the whole game clicked on me. Considering it's PS2esque graphics, I'd say porting it is doable. I know it'll never happen but a man can dream...

Stealth port beg.

Have mercy on me mods. ;__;

I don't think that's port begging. I've sometimes say how awesome it would be to have Tales of Vesperia in the PSVita (favorite JRPG in the 7th gen, though it could be dethroned by P5) and anything has happened. Anybody cares about what we say here :)

I seriously want to play Drakengard series, but it's sad that they aren't on PSN.
___

BTW, I found something interesting. Sony is giving for free 2 PSM games weekly for 5 weeks. Go and grab them! Link is here

Some quotes:

Between 27th November and 18th December 2013, and from 8th January to 22nd January 2014, you can download two fantastic free titles to play on your PlayStation Certified smartphone or tablet, or on your PlayStation Vita.

The first two games are available right now: Passing Time and Rymdkapsel

yep, but i use US account in my ps3

Aha then you'll be using that same account on the Vita I presume. Well if you have any PSX games those may work on your Vita.

I personally recommend having a big memory card, but just go with what you feel suits you most.

Some quotes:

I have played the Drakengard games but honestly I can't recommend them. Drakengard 1 was awesome for how it smashed RPG stereotypes and such. The game really is just a roller coaster ride of insanity including its OST which is off-beat yet very charming nonetheless. Drakengard 2 was for all intents and purposes a dumbed down version of Drakengard 1 where the only thing improved was the gameplay and yet it isn't really that big of an improvement. Those 2 games has it's charm but NieR was the one that takes the cake. I was so dragged into its world that I nearly stopped or was always late in classes on my university. I hope Drakengard 3 can expand upon everything that I loved in NieR. Luckily it will be localized. Here's to hoping it'll go to the Vita if it's good.

Thanks for the heads up. I will download now. :D

Edit: Fuuuuuu---- EU only?! :(

yes, i have 2 psx and 2psp games.

thanks to all for the help :3

Flower is so lovely. Especially when you aren't actively trying to finish the objectives but just flowing about.

Touch controls are decent once you get the hang of them too but it'd be nice to have stick controls for when you're feeling lazy.

Sony Live Chat were helpful. Going to have to wait 24 hours to do a password reset, but should be good to go tomorrow. Just in time for Black Friday PSN sale

Toukiden boxart for EU:

Feb 11 in the US, Feb 14 for EU!

Great, thanks!

I spend SO little on games every year, so this should be exciting. I also REALLY want to pick up Tearaway and Ys. I never finished Ys 7, but it was a lot of fun for the 15-20 hours I played it.

I spend more than I should, and end up with games I never play. I tell myself every year I'm not going to do it. I have the new Ys and if you liked Seven you will like this even more.

Toukiden is set for release in Europe on the 14th of February 2014.

Just curious if the PSP version will be released in EU/US as well?
Would like to try that Cross-Play between Vita and PSP with my cousin.
But even so, knowing Sony, they will charge us for both Vita and PSP(if there is one) versions...

Man, another Monster Hunter esque game on the Vita?

They sure compensate for the lack of MH on the Vita, lol.

I'll still buy this one and God Eater 2 though. I really dig the art style in Toukiden.
