PS4 official European waiting thread - come here and wait with us!

Just got to my local Midnight launch at GAME, was expecting a queue down the street, or at least out the door. Instead, only about 30 people milling around the store with no queue. Feel a bit stupid turning up an hour early now.

No matter what happens in Europe, the UK will always be an Xboxland I assume. There are lots of uninformed people that think coming from the 360, Xbone will be superior to PS4 (coming from PS3). And since Brits love the 360 controller, they will love the Xbone controller. Mainland Europe is Sony territory though.

Nope.

The UK has as much loyalty as a really really narked off cat. PS2 was the daddy, then the 360 was because it was out 16 months earlier than the PS3 and a ton cheaper.

The PS4 has the hype, the positive press, the lower price and its coming on the back of things like The Last of Us which just reminds people what Sony make long term. By the end of the weekend we could see the PS4 already being 2:1 to the Xbone, supply withstanding. Whether they can maintain that is another matter entirely, but they know how important it is.

Same. And to think they still haven't sorted out TV rights yet!

Hopefully with BT Sport nabbing all the rights up from Sky, Sky can give it some increased presence.
Didn't realise they had the nba rights, are they going to be showing more than the odd game?

I do like the nba games but I bought nba 2k13 about 6 months ago and hardly played it so can't justify paying £55 for the new one

I thought that but anecdotally I've seen many more people excited for ps4 here.

Local stores have almost double the amount if ps4 vs Xbox preorder, friends talking about ps4 almost ignored Xbox coming out..

You do know that before Xbox and the 360 UK was Sony Land... UK went Playstation and Playstation 2 CRAZY. PS3 Tanked because of the stupid initial selling price.

Well, my younger brother had no luck at Asdas. Only 15 consoles, and all the tickets had already been handed out.

Time to wait on the Argos website until 12am to try and grab a PS4 for him. I think he's going to see if the Tesco has any left.

Unless its changed since I worked there 6 years ago (Argos), on most console launches they didnt allow any stock to be reserved on the first day.

Just had a thought, I have no idea what game to play first, I'll have Fifa, Killzone, assassins creed IV, lego marvel and resogun aargh too much choice

My local GameStop are selling DualShocks in advance so I bought one. Is the touchpad supposed to feel a little flimsy in a detachable way? Feels like I could pop it out if I really wanted to.

This is exactly what i'm worried about. Thankfully i'll be in all day curtain twitching

My mate's been driving around to different stores. The first gave out tickets earlier in the day, there was no queue, those with tickets will come back later to collect. Another shop he lined up, they gave out tickets but he was 3rd after last. Then he got 3rd time lucky at another store and is waiting in queue with his ticket.

Andrew House is talking on the covent garden stream now

is it? i heard is repetitive like hell. Well looks like it will be my first ps4 game too …

Not at all! Its greatly improved and I am a picky S.O.B. the naval battles are epic, tons of engagements always going on with monster "legendary" ships that will eat you for lunch. The main story is quite good, too. The graphics are phenomenal. I mean, crazy good. When you are out sailing the details just pop. Whales breeching off your bow, hunting sharks and orcas. You can board enemy ships and take them over. There is a whole other mini game with your fleet you can play. The cities and islands are alive with wildlife and killer layouts. Man, this game has sucked me in more than Oblivion and Fallout and for me that's a great achievement.

At Argos?

I was referring to Argos :)

Leaving the house! Sooooo excited.

Anyone knows who`s the girl with blonde/white hair making the interviews on the UK stream?

I recommend watching 'The Blurb', it's on Challenge TV at midnight on a Monday. She presents the show and it's probably the best gaming show in years.

Though she did seem pissed at me on facebook when I suggested their reviews of XBONE games were much more positive than their PS4 ones, like how they called Ryse the most anticipated next gen launch game.

Generally a good show though.

I live in Brazil... Unless I can see it online somewhere.

They seem highly regarded on these forums, but I've read elsewhere that sometimes they don't finishing delivering until 8pm.

Imagine being that guy who gets his PS4 tomorrow at 8pm. Pacing back and forth. Frantic.

Yeah, he's talking to customer service now. They offered him a £10 voucher. That didn't improve the situation one bit. haha.

Why can't they do him Saturday delivery?
