Just randomly picked a female nintendo character that doesn't resembles any other Nintendo character in the roster, so yes her look is unique.

The average person is going to think Rosalina is a slight variation on Peach if not the same character. She would make a decent alt costume.

I'd hate for those characters to be cut.

I would argue her orginal role does not matter much. She again to coin term, Shadow the hedgehog-ed her way into shit. She got special privileges, she got above peach privileges. Not saying her spot is guaranteed, however there is possibility someone in the Mario division, might be pushing for her in smash. Since they are the ones who gets to the end game decision.


I would not say it would be 100% bowser Jr. While I love him to death, think he is adorable. There is one other character I feel is in the running, that is now the main villain of a "franchise", of a popular nintendo character. And had that game represented stage wise in the last smash bros.

Couldn't care less if Rosalina or any B-List character makes it to the game or not. This thing started when some random dude said Rosalina was a Peach clone (design/looking wise) and blah blah when she clearly is not.

Uh even if a person isn't into Mario one will tell you just by silhouette that Rosalina is different. Thinner, different outfit, etc.

So is there any indication at all of how many maps to expect? For me personally the more the better. I get annoyed when they keep removing some of my favorite maps when a new game comes out. At this point i'm already pretty certain that some of my favorite maps are going to be cut again.

But unique is subjective and sometimes even a stupid term. Just because two character share the same game doesn't mean they're not unique from each other.

Alts can't fully represent specific characters though, so Ike wouldn't really be "in" if he's a Marth clone without anything that makes him Ike.

I'd prefer if the characters felt a bit more different otherwise i think it brings into question if they should be there at all. I don't think wolf was really needed and he's one of my least favorite characters and this is coming from a huge fan of the franchise.

Edit: Not sure why but i quite like lucas and he feels different enough.

I agree. That's why I don't want to see stuff like Lucina as a Marth alt. A character getting in should be more special than that, plus I'm sure fans of a character might be a bit peeved if they get in as an alt and don't really represent what that character can do or what makes them unique.

And, in their source game, they both serve the exact same purpose as on-screen fitness guides. You can even choose which trainer you want. For all intents and purposes, they're the same character. The same is true of the male and female Villager.

While they're "different", in the games they fulfill the same purpose (you choose your trainer). No different from boy or girl Villager or male or female Pokemon Trainer.

With that said I disagree with the notion that "characters should be skinned as alts". These characters are characters. At most they can just be referenced via palette colors, but not an actual skin.

Representing Fox's teammates with a character (who are present in every level of a normal Star Fox game and are a big part of what makes Star Fox what it is) is more important that representing a semi-recurring squad of minibosses.

I would love for SSB4 to just be huge in roster size. I mean, with SSE being botched, and the Wii U being capable of handling much more data than the Wii... why not? I'd love a roster size of at least 50, but I don't see it happening.

Luigi has been around longer than wolf and is apart of a much bigger franchise. Plus at least for me he feels more unique than wolf. On top of that we already have falco.
