Gaf, have you ever been to this thing known as the "club"?

I went to a nightclub a couple years ago and I have never been back. The music was too loud to socialize and the music they were playing just wasn't my cup of tea. Honestly I'm not really sure what you're supposed to do there besides get drunk. Overall it was a pretty lousy experience and I won't be going back anytime soon.

Dance and grind on the floor.

I haven't, my friends keep trying to get me to go, but they go to after hours club and I really dont feel like going out at 3 AM in the morning.

What were they playing? What kind of club?

Hyperia in Houston (rip) was my church.

The key to nightclubs is to be drunk before you go in, but not too drunk that the bouncers don't let you in. You, in your hopefully intoxicated state, will be drunk enough to not care about the obnoxiously loud music or sticky floors.

Dance?

Pick up joints are lame, but clubs are fun for essentially that reason, and I don't even drink. I can't go often though, it's too overstimulating to be even close to a regular thing.

Haven't gone to in a year or more. You just get drunk, talk loud and grind your night out. Fun if that's your kind of stuff.

not really about that life... prefer to pick up women in laundry facilities, or book stores

haven;t been having much lucky lately though

The trick is to find a floor paying music you'd enjoy dancing like an idiot to. Also, don't be sober.

Clubbing can be shit, but it can be really really fun.

Not since I was in my teens, at which point it was the height of coolness...

...have gone in one once in the time since (10+ years). Horrible places.

Big time electronic music fan. No other choice than clubs for dj sets and live shows of my favourite djs. Going to parties where my favourite djs are playing is one of the thing I enjoy the most in life.

But I can't stand "normal" clubs where they are blasting radio hits and shitty dance music.

Fun if you have a dance partner. Not my cup of tea otherwise. Once or twice a year is my max. The last time I went to one, I was offered cocaine. Not my scene at all..

Haven't been to a nightclub yet, and probably won't.
I don't mind the music, but I don't drink. So no reason to go there really.

Uhm yeah?

Don't enjoy it overly much either, but usually just go if some friends wants to go from a house party to there. It can be alright, but usually I just like getting drunk in peoples houses more.

Don't worry, you can just do drugs instead.

No it's not for me. Too loud and too cramped if it's a busy night. Thankfully none of the people I've ever hung around want to go to those places either for many of the same reasons. We just don't see any point in it.

Pre-game.
Go a little later and on days you know it's hoppin'.
Don't go alone.
Drink more.
Dance.
Hit on people.
Profit.

I don't drink so no I don't, same as my friends. Usually we go to an Arcade place and have fun there. Go to a restaurant, eat and have a laugh.

Gone a couple of times. I'm content with just enjoying the music, I don't dance and don't really like drinking but I'll have enough to get buzzed. Not my favorite way to spend an evening.

The sad problem is that people go to wrong clubs. You got some who think and want to go to clubs to meet a girl and what not. Then there us who go to legendary clubs to listen to badass djs spin. I already got a girl I just want to listen to someone throw down. Also a place with amazing light shows. Big dif.

As others have said, step one is to be drunk before you enter. Just dancing with friends is fun if everyone is in on it so to speak, not caring what everyone else is doing and focusing on just the group. But the real fun to be had is if you find someone to hook up with. That shit is always a blast in the club.

I am actually surprised that many people haven't been clubbing at least once in their life time. Come on GAF, you are better than this.

Depending on the club, you can enjoy dancing, enjoy the music, chill out and drink, pick up girls and so on and so fourth. I have been to a lot of them, and you do get your bad days as well as your good days, but if you are going there to have a conversion(s) then you are doing it wrong. Its load and people who are there normally don't care for chit chat, unless you meet someone and decide to hang outside for couple of mins.

Do not go to clubs with one purpose in mind. Be it Dancing, enjoying the scenery (people are dumb in clubs and usually you will have a laugh or two), or just relax and enjoy the music on your leisure. Always pick a club that is usually agrees with your taste in music (Personally I go for Alternative, Funk Dance) and always follow DJs, not the venue. A good DJ can make or break your night. Also, Djs usually have fans and you might meet the same people again and that could lead some great moments in the venue. Many have said that go with groups, and if you are low on confidence invite a person or two and have a good night. But personally, I would say that, clubbing, is a good chance to build your confidence by going there your self and exploring what the night life have to offer.

My biggest advice is: Be yourself and do not care about what the others think of you there. Have fun, go crazy and be mentally energetic and hyper. Most people are too drunk to actually criticise and from experience, its easy to feel reserved when you are with confinement of a gathering, but go for it.

I am coming from a dj's perspective. I was playing at this trendy ultra lounge once, and I threw in a remix of everything but the girl's "cos I was wrong" people were cheering hard. It's all about what club you choose. House clubs are the best.

I don't drink either, so that may of been part of it. The club I was at though had free non alcoholic drinks so that was nice.

The only clubs around me just play Hip Hop music and not the good kind. Plus i don't really like types that go to clubs anyway. The only way I get any enjoyment at the club is to get drunk on Long islands which I could probably just make myself at home.

Nah, Trance ones are usually bonkers. Rave ones are fun and people there are way too friendly. Alternative is also superior because no one fucking cares

:)

Sorry I just dislike House
