Well the primary reason I ask is because clearly some of these websites are charging significantly more. Play-Asia has the Vita for $300 vs NCSX's for $230. I'm assuming most people who bought one probably shopped around for the least expensive available option and would be able to relay that information to make the search a little easier.

Thanks for input regarding the upgrade though, OLED screen is nice and all but I tend to prefer the slimmer models so this may just be up my alley.

Hey perorist, where did you import from?
I'd recommend NipponYasan personally, but my order from there was only for a 64gb card, so customs and stuff was no sweat. Go check out the VitaTV import thread -- you could probably find some good info there about which sites were the most reasonable for that and then logically assume ordering a Vita 2000 would be about the same.

Hey, does anyone know where I can find a list of all the North American PS1 games that are not on Vita in any capacity, download transfer or otherwise? I know the Crash and Spyro games are examples of this (and it really sucks) but what else?

Check the CAG thread. It's mostly up to date.
Other titles I know don't work in any capacity, for NA:
R-Types
R-Type Delta
Final Fantasy V

Thanks, just hoping I can revisit FF7 and 9 hopefully can get them on the vita.

Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 are all on the Vita store in NA and are all playable.

Holy ballsack, I just got Kisuke's Fury Mode trophy. Just need to beat it with Momohime, and it's platinum'd. Holy crap. What a relief. Now, I just need to grind like 38 levels so I can equip the last sword.... Who thought this was a good idea?

Momohime's seems like it would be the worst of the two. :\

Alrighty, I'll look out for it! Thanks.

Also, fuuuuuuuu at FFV not being playable. I was planning on playing the entire main FF series for the first time up to X on a Vita, having one of the titles not being there is a major letdown. :(

Also Nippon Yasan

For newly released items they often have the cheapest prices. Only thing to note is they ship significantly slower than other companies though, taking up to 1 week to process your order even if the item is in stock. Another thing is they mark all packages as gifts and at generally around 1/5th the value or less of what it's actually worth. While this is potentially big savings depending on if you get hit with customs in your country, if the package somehow gets lost or damaged during transit you're out of luck as far as compensation goes.

Alright, I give up. I'm stuck on Chapter 5 of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus on what's apparently a "fiend challenge" at the monastary annex. There are 4 of them that keep respawning after they die and there doesn't seem like any way to kill them for good. Anybody who beat this part able to give me the apparent secret I'm overlooking?

The fiend challenges are generally pretty long. You probably have to kill around 30 or 40 of them before you get them all, just keep at it.

Block, dodge, destroy.
They'll spawn for a good while.
You don't have to do the fiend challenges. At all. They're all optional.

Try a walkthrough like this one, I'm not sure if they cover that part though.

Ya I just finished it finally. Seems like incredibly bad game design though.

Didn't even know it was optional until now. Just seemed like it was the next thing in the story from finding a key that unlocked the door leading there.

Any time you run into a challenge area like that, it's an optional test of skill which will reward you with a prize -- something like a lives of the thousands gods or spirit of the devils to extend your life bar or magic uses.

Neither of the R-Type games are in that list, anywhere.

I created a pretty comprehensive thread last year here. It's updated every time someone posts a game they've tested.

You just select squares that you can move to like every other isometric, grid-based strategy rpg. Available squares are based on movement distance and jump height of the character.

You can use lifting to bypass all sorts of things and battle in more creative, efficient ways, but you don't have to at all... it just gives you extra options outside of normal SRPG movement. It basically lets you cheat and do something the enemy never does.

No use. That dude has made up his mind awhile ago, and no amount of explaining will sway him. It is fine, opinions and all.

I went through the first like 3 hours about 6 months apart trying to give the game a chance. I'm glad others like them, I just wish I did as well.

Tactics Ogre can be because it is in the vita store. I am not sure how you can get a game like Valkyria Chronicles 2(or at least the DLC) that needs to be transferred from a PS3.

WUT

Thank you for telling me this, I seriously thought the game had been taken down. The original Valkyria is my favourite JRPG of the PS3 era, but the sequel hit when I didn't have a PSP and had no interest in getting another (those load times...*shudder*). I'll give it a shot even though I've heard it's not the game the first one was. My Vita needs this on it.

No it's the one with all the free goodies.

Also, newbie to Ninja Gaiden but not to action games. I'm playing NGSP1 right now. Is there a point to those rooms that seemingly have infinite respawning enemies aside from farming them? There's one in Chapter 1. I just found another one in Chapter 3 (airship) though there's a Golden Scarab on top of the crates.

lol, what are the odds of someone asking the exact same thing just a few posts above me. Does the room "reset" if I exit?

Not sure if I should go for them right now. I can deal with them fine, but gun damage eventually chip me to death, though I try to avoid it by throwing shuriken on someone as distraction while killing another with melee. I went through four potions before calling it quits.

Thin month for Vita.

I think I may make the jump to a 64GB card.

If you like Adventure games, there's Stick it to the man and Broken Sword 5.

Thanks for all the info, one last question is there somewhere I could see what's in the vita store?
Just an FYI that some PSP games ARE Vita compatible but require transferring from a PS3.

If you're US PSN, wait til Spring if you can, this past Spring, the FF games were 50% off.

Gonna visit my local shop to ask about Ys, if they aren't getting it by the 5th I'll just get it from the US Store and get the VR Missions game for dat top head Stealth.

Quick question -- My 32GB card is filled to the brim. I would gladly delete some of my bigger games (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, etc), but doing so deletes my save game. Is there a way to keep my save data on the memory card and still delete the game data? Or do I just have to copy/paste my saves to my PC?

Upload it onto the cloud?

Upload it to the cloud. Press the PS+ icon when you start up the game.

Your only option is to back them up to your PC first, which I find to be some pretty weak sauce.

My only issue with saving "to the cloud" is that you don't have control over it so it can't really be trusted as being perpetual. Eventually, inevitably, you're going to lose those saves if you haven't backed them up to PC.

I almost imported from Nippon Yasan, but I noticed that they do not have SSL enabled on their shopping cart. That's a deal breaker, so I ordered through NCSX.com. They shipped quickly and will assist with any warranty issues, so I'm OK with paying a bit extra.

Is SSL some security thing? I should prob. remove my CC details if they stored them then when I get my 64 gb

which rayman do i want? origins or legends?

they both seem to be pretty good. ive never played a rayman before

I'm thinking about ordering one from NCSX. I just wish they had the 64GB memory card. It'd be nice to get everything from one place.

So when upgrading memory cards will physical game saves be affected, or can I upload those to the cloud too?

Both are good, though Legends is a little easier.
Playing Origins first will let you see how Legends has improved over some stuff from it as well as the graphics.
iF YOU can only get one, get Legends, I think it's on sale for $18 on US PSN atm, but that's a flash sale of sorts so grab it asap!

I don't know if you played the PS3 version(s) of the game, but would you care to give some general impressions? I loved the NG series (don't intend to play 3), and occasionally get the urge to push some nostalgia buttons in portable form.

Don't wanna be left sour, though... is it worth it?

oh wait nevermind, you're asking about sigma+ 1 lol .

I don't like Gravity Rush's load times when doing the challenges. :/

I wish so bad there was a retry option before actually finishing the challenge. I typically don't give up on a challenge until I gold it, so it's a pain having to finish a challenge after that one major screw up.

Origins doesn't have any gimmicky gameplay, it's a pure platformer; plain and simple.

Legends improves on Origins in terms of graphics and such and adds in Murfy levels -- levels that have you tilting the vita and using touch to change the level as the CPU moves AI player(s) through the stage.

Have you done the ultimate hell known as the Gravity Slide challenge in one of the DLC packs? :D

So when upgrading memory cards will physical game saves be affected, or can I upload those to the cloud too?

You can upload them to the cloud.
If you don't see them in the "auto" list for enablement, it means you need to have the card in the slot to do the upload, most likely.

Entirely dependent on if you can handle the 30fps with slowdown at times combined with some infuriating bow controls.
If you can look past that and see a price you're comfortable paying, sure.
Free on PS+ was good enough that I played through it once. I haven't put much time in it since then though... to many better games to play that don't have technical issues.
I have all 3 'sigma' type games on PS3 -- if I'm getting that NG itch and I don't need it to be on Vita, I'm definitely going to boot NGS, NGS2, or NG3:RE on my console.

I haven't been able to download the DLC packs, but I plan to. The gravity slide challenges are a real thorn in my side in general.

My bad, it was a health checkpoint race.
But there's a bit at the end where gravity slide needs to be spot on if you're going to make the gold. Pain in the ass.
