The situation is bad even there.
The saves are encrypted (gotta protect those trophies!) to only work with your PSN account, so moving them to a new Vita in the future is dependent on PSN servers working, and on top of that, the CMA transfer software for PC requires an internet connection to Sony's servers to even run (barring openCMA hacks).
(I'm curious about what happens if you run a Vita without a PSN account. Can a non-account memory card be moved to a new Vita and the save files loaded, all without internet? On a related note, can you patch physical games without a PSN account and generate permanent patch cards you can move from Vita to Vita?)

Encrypted save files are bad enough, but encrypted patches are even worse. I worry if retro-gaming 20 years from now will be stuck with a mountain of unpatched games.

I'm not the type of person that plays and discards. I like the ability to access my library at any time without much hassle. You can call it laziness or impatience, but I don't like having to wait a few hours to redownload or transfer game - I want to play then and there.

And it's a pretty big assumption that I don't play all the games on my memory card.

I'm the same like that, it's also one of the reasons I never sell my retail software anymore. (that and EB and JB tradeins are no longer needed for me to get new software with software being cheaper to buy now)

Does PSN do some kind of address checking? I tried adding funds with PayPal but it always fails. I had to buy codes from Amazon.

Now I just wait for my Ys Celceta download. I don't know why I'm surprised it's only 800MB since it always looked like it started as a PSP game.
 
I need to beat Rayman Origins before Christmas so I can start right in on Legends after Christmas. Think I only have a couple more worlds to go. I guess I can grind out that platinum later on or something. Probably won't have time to do it all this month =/
 
So I'm enjoying Tearaway so far, but I really feel like they shouldn't have waited to give you the ability to jump. I know it's not THAT far in, but not being able to jump was sort of an odd decision to start.

I should rephrase what I said/meant. I don't buy the lousy connection argument because with a 32gb card you can always have room to download new games and still have a large library of backlog games. I have the option to store games on my PS3 and computer if I want but after getting a 32gb stick I haven't even done that in a long time. I posted the list of games I currently have on my 32gb stick to make a visual point. When people say they don't want to constantly transfer or re-download games I question that if you have anything over 32gb because I cannot fathom having that much time to go through that many games in any reasonable time frame. Even if I was younger in school or something I would literally not have enough time in a day to go through that many games.

I do though understand the reason why people want that storage and you hinted at it but I feel its more towards the need of having everything you own on a stick. I will freely admit I have some OCD issues when it comes to things like that. I absolutely hated deleting P4G off my stick to make room even though I played through it 3 times. I just wanted the icon there because I knew it would be a very, VERY long time before I ever re-played it. I feel its more like collectors stopping and looking at their collection of games on their shelves. The warm fuzzies you get by staring at them and saying yea I own that. That I can get.

Finished Tearaway last night and I'll just join everyone else in saying what a wonderful game it is. I ended up playing the last 7 or 8 chapters in one sitting, the ending was nice.

Now, are anyone going to make the papercraft?
 
Any of you guys using a case/screen protector for your Vita?

It's a beautiful handheld and I'd hate to have to hide it behind a case but I know its only a matter of time before I fuck up and drop it. ( ._.)

Any recommendations?

Tell me i dun gud vitagaf - that coworker i lent my vita to last week came in to work on monday with a new black one, walking dead, hotline miami, and ps+.
 
I just played some Injustice via remote play. Works surprisingly well, considering the genre. I probably wouldn't recommend playing online like that, but for single player matches I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

No problem. I'd wait for a low price and then scoop it up. If you go physical, you can always dump the game if you can't handle the 30fps.
I refused to buy it based on the 30fps, but when it came to PS+ for free, I gave it a shot. If you're just playing the challenge mode stuff and it's behaving in terms of framerate, it's solid.
However, if you're playing the story, there are some ridiculously infuriating parts and some bad slowdown in places that are just inexcusable and make me glad I didn't pay money for it.

I cannot talk to NGS2+, but since it's a more technically demanding game, it's still 30fps max when it's behaving and it's dynamic resolution is apparently revolting at times.

Meanwhile, DoA5+ was ported and manages to look solid and run at 60fps...

This is why I don't start multiple games at once most of the time.
And when I do, I pick the one that has my interest and FOCUS until it's beaten and I can move on.
I learned way back that stopping mid game, especially if the game isn't linear and simple to pick up (RPGs, survival horror, etc.) is a bad bad bad BAD idea and should be avoided at all costs.
Pick one of those games and finish it. If there's more you want to do, great, keep it around and come back to it. If you've had your fill, delete it and move on. It'll feel good, I promise. ;)

A Link Between Worlds is probably the best mainline Nintendo game I've played since Metroid Prime on the Gamecube. It's unbelievably fantastic and was worth the $40 I paid for it and asking for a 3DS for my last birthday so I'd be able to play it upon release.

Errr. 30fps cap, no? If I ever have a PS4, I won't be using remote play for fighting games. (Besides, no fightstick for Vita...)
 
Was just gifted Tearaway by a friend and grabbed Resistance (I enjoyed the demo, so I figured it was worth it) from Amazon for ten bucks; should be a fun lead-up week to finals!

Yeah, 30 fps cap. That's why I was surprised it worked relatively well. Like I said, I wouldn't play online or anything like that but it's very playable which is a feat unto itself considering the genre. I'm sure a more competitive player would call it unplayable garbage because there's definitely a difference with just playing on the ps4, but from a technical point of view I was impressed with the results.

Guess I should just pull the trigger on the 3 PSP Ys titles on sale.

Anyone enjoy Strikers 1945 plus only 2.99.

If you haven't played Ys 1&2, you might want to YouTube them first. I HATE the bump combat system, so I decided to pass on those. You may want to do the same.

SCEA forgets about it's customers rather routinely, at least the ones that own a Vita. :P

The 3 Ys titles are probably not a bad recommendation if you haven't played them and would rather have them on Vita than on PC.

Strikers 1945 Plus is a good game to keep on your Vita if you like shmups. It's only 34mb.
 
2 months ago I didn't even care about the Vita. I barely knew anything about it.

But I gave it a shot and now I've been playing Guacamelee, Tearaway, Little Big Planet, Uncharted and many others and I'm wondering why I ever skipped over this in the first place.

Just got a 32gb card for $39 too. So I'm all set for a bit!
