It should be a proper reveal of X (name and release date). Instead it'll just be Nintendo playing it safe and showing another one of their established IP's like a Zelda tease.

Announcement not made by Miyamoto or Iwata= Shit not worth the hype.

Edit: At best it could be a second party announcement by their second parties like Kuju or Monster Games.

What he needs to bring is another $50 price cut and new trailer for something like Super Smash Brothers with a release date.

IF they were to show a new trailer for something, Zelda would be the only LOGICAL choice since the VGX are a mass audience type thing. None of them would give a poop about X. Zelda would be the only sensible thing to show there. But ever since I found out about the dev/industry people Q&A, I'm no longer expecting any new game stuff...

I think X is too niche for the VGA audience. Zelda seems like the logical choice; didn't Aonuma and Miyamoto both say they wanted to show it at E3 but decided against it last minute?

He's going to close off the Year of Luigi with a Luigi themed Wii U sku, it's Luigi Green colored and has a playful little moustache. Just like Luigi.

Pre-order now!

Yeah X will really play to the VGX audience. Not a mismatch of demographics there at all.

The biggest series in America that Nintendo has left and wouldn't turn off the entire audience for the program would be Smash Bros.

After their build up to the wii fit trainer at E3, this actually sounds plausible.

What build-up, exactly?

They showed the Smash trailer, then on the show floor in the press area, they aired a Wii Fit Trainer trailer. For the first day or so, the only shots were off-screen.

Or Zelda and Metroid. But don't think Nintendo is going to reveal those. (They should if you'd ask me)

A new amazing ip that makes use of the gamepad.

Okay that was silly. A new car type in Mario Kart? Different colored pants for Luigi in Smash Bros? Another installment of ________ franchise.

I think Zelda is more likely than Smash. They were planning to show something related to Zelda U at both E3 and Comic-Con, so a reveal at VGX would make sense.

Realistic expectation: New Smash Trailer

A bit of hopeful speculation: DLC for SM3DW and LBW.

SPLANUUUUD: Reveal of Miyamoto's new IP.

I can tell you what he wont be bringing ... wii u sales figures ... :)

EDIT: and yeah smash trailer/gameplay etc.

Again, Geoff said that they asked for Persona 5 and Atlus turned them down. If he feels Persona would be appealing to that audience, then there's no way that X wouldn't be.

Zelda is not as big a series now as Smash has historically been.

Nevermind that people have taken Miyamoto's quote to illogical ends. What he considers "announcing Zelda" is not necessarily "HERE IS A REVEAL TRAILER AND ALSO AN EPIC SOUNDTRACK WHAT'S UP BITCHES." He revealed Skyward Sword with a piece of concept art at a roundtable meeting. That was the announcement of that game.

Link Between Worlds has been worked on for years but we didn't know about it before 2013. It showed up at a Nintendo Direct and released nine months later.

Where did the comic-con thing come from? People really thought they were going to unveil Zelda U at comic-con?
