I just played WRC3 which I stupidly bought without looking up reviews because it was 5 euros in the weekend sale. What a lousy game! It looks like a PSP game and has about as much content as most demos.

Also been playing Persona 1, which is a little dumb since I still have to play Persona 4 Golden, but I started it and played about 4 hours in a row so I might as well finish it first.

My biggest problem with Ragnarok Odyssey was the abysmal drop rate. If you want some decent equipment or cards for end/post-game, be prepared to farm hours on end for a single material. Unless Ace fixed that, I won't even consider it.

Yeah I really wanted to like Ragnarok Odyssey but I couldn't. Even if it goes up on PS+ I wont redownload it. I have no interest in Ace.

I asked this earlier, but has there been any official word on whether Terraria is actually coming out this week?

I could see that.
The game that's worth playing in the Series was the original. It's got some nice platforming and doesn't put in the tediousness of using anyone other than sly or doing "missions" or buying upgrades, etc.
I liked the first game a lot -- not as much as the PS2 R&C games, but it was solid... then I played Sly 2 and Sly 3 and found them to be long, boring annoyances. My inner trophy demons demanded the platinums though... :|

I gave Sly 4 a shot to see if it returned back to the Sly roots... in parts, it did, but it still had the Sly 2/3 "features"I didn't like. It's not a terrible game, but it's not something I heartily recommend to people unless they want a game that plays like Sly 2 or 3. ;)

I'm willing to try Sly 1 if they port the hd collection to the vita.

Hmm, thinking about picking up Ys for the December promotion but I already have too many games to finish as is...

Also, played Persona 3 Portable yesterday for the first time in about a year. I was 29 hours in or so and stuck at that damn wheel of fortune boss. This time I did the trick where you press X as soon as you can which helped me beat Strength but the Fortune guy killed me pretty quickly afterwards. Ugh. I think I'm pretty underleveled (main guy is level 36 or so) since I find the dungeon crawling boring and spent most of my time doing other stuff.

I just want this damn game to end so I can play P4G which I bought months ago but never played....

To me Sly 1 is like Jak & Daxter 1. I liked both of these but the sequels not so much.

When you compare the games to their sequels they're closer to a 3D platformer where the sequels tend to almost have a platformer sandbox approach.

I've only played the demo, but it clicked with me immediately. I was doing cool shit without fighting the controls, and the color palette is really nice. I really like the visuals. Unfair shit like being juggled to death is a real reason to stay away for me, though (or if there's not a lot to do in the game).

I had fun with Ragnarok Odyssey for 25 hours or so. Long enough to feel like I got my money's worth but I did lose interest rather quickly (in comparison to Soul Sacrifice and other games). The online multiplayer was rather spotty too from what I remembered (could have simply been my bad luck with the internet though).

I love the Sly Cooper games, and Thieves in Time has been awesome for me so far. I'm only in the second world, but that's because I have too many other things to play first.

Well it's not on the US in the update for the 3rd, but then it was stated for the UK for the 4th only so far

Edit: seems it is confirmed by 505 for EU this week and US might be later...

Is Doki Doki Universe like Animal Crossing for Vita?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ep40T7AwjnU

Coming in december apparently, vita, ps4, ps3.

I don't know how Animal Crossing plays, but from what I've gathered Doki-Doki Universe is a bit like a point and click adventure, where you go from planet to planet helping various inhabitants with their problems by solving puzzles. Or you don't have to help at all; you can be a total dick to them. And then there are personality quizzes you can take which are supposed to reflect what kind of person you are.

Yeah, it's all a little perplexing. But that's what I like about Doki-Doki - it's hard to pin-point and very different from anything else out there. I can't wait to play it this month.

This E3 live demonstration will help shed some light on it I guess - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWNaepz-80Y

Platinum trophy in 6 hours ;)

If someone wants more FPS games, they should probably get both. Resistance was worth it for $10. You wouldn't really want to play the online multi though.

If this is true, then it's probably because of SCEA's bullshit regarding certification (again!).
Now I have another reason not to buy the game, as if the delay and the pricing weren't enough to pass.

Am I the only one who wishes that instead of getting a stupid dancing game we got some DLC for P4G?

The story ended in a good way, I don't see the point of DLC. I like rhytm games so the dancing game doesn't look bad to me. A RPG would be better of course, though the 3DS chibi dungeon crawler doesn't look that interesting to me either.

I don't know what thread to ask in but which Ys is best to buy?

Oath
SEVEN
or I & II

I see these are 7.49 now, assume there's a sale of some sort.

I have Oath on Steam already, didn't really play it yet.

Just got my Vita in the mail! Looks so damn sexy. Ordered a 32GB card for it as well, and Tearaway should get here tomorrow. :)

Is Corpse Party actually any good? I did some looking into it and it seems like a mix between 999 Style Visual Novel/ADV and it's own 16bit puzzle solving gameplay. It looked interesting to me and I've hear some people really like it. I've player Both Zero Escapes, Higurashi and Steins;gate so I do have some experience with VN games.

Just wanted to know before I drop either 20 on this or 15 on Lunar: Silver Star Harmony. I really liked playing Lunar 2 back in the days on PS1, but due to the price of the box set back then and me finding out about the Lunar Series quite late I never played the first game before. The psp port would be my chance to finally play the game for only 15$

I also have really good headphones if it matters at all when it comes to Corpse Party. Just wanted a few opinions on the game, cause what I looked up on said that the game has way too much backtracking, but I don't really mind much considering that the Survival Horror genre was plentiful with it's back tracking. Unless it's really, really bad backtracking lol

My Amazon Vita Holiday Bundle just came in! Now I just have to wait for my 32gb memory card from Gamestop and P4G from Gamefly.

PSN is Onslaught56.

Could not help myself...Went down on the amazon deals today and got Killzone and Sly Cooper digitally.
Really not helping my backlog/wallet

I'd say get them all on Steam over Vita if you don't care for portability.
Put that $7.50 toward Ys: Memory of Celceta instead, if you really want a Ys game on your Vita. :)

That said, 7 and Oath are better than I&II as I understand it.

I just couldn't bear to empty out my card slot and move Killzone to digital. Seemed like a waste, considering the best I could get for Killzone at the moment was about $19 if I traded it to amazon. :\

Wow it looks and sounds awesome! Thanks!

The sound design of the Corpse Party games is second-to-none and if you're well-versed in visual novels the CP games are essential purchases, IMO. Especially if what you missed most in VLR from 999 was the tension and atmosphere. Corpse Party just oozes it.

If you're worried about back-tracking getting tedious, just play through those sequences with a FAQ. You'll want one on hand if you're hunting student name tags down anyhow.

I really liked Corpse Party. Those headphones will come in handy because the game has excellent sound design.
I'd advice using a spoiler free walkthrough though because the game can be a bit frustrating without one. I didn't use one for most of the game and had certain instances where I'd get stuck because I missed something small. There's not an awful lot of backtracking if you use a guide, if you don't you may find yourself wandering around looking for that trigger to the next event.

There's not a whole lot to the gameplay but I thought the story was interesting. I didn't find it particularly scary but it can get rather gruesome. Most of the gore is implied in writing and with sound effects.

I can also highly recommend the sequel. That one is more of a classic visual novel with a first person exploration point and click style. It has even less actual gameplay but the story was worth it. Took a while to complete too.

I'll be buying the third as soon as it comes out.

You'd get $25 for it if you traded it in at GameStop with another game on the trade 2 list.

Thanks for the heads up, but that's probably a no go anyway -- the main issue is that the 3.x gb the game takes up just doesn't make sense for me to get rid of the retail card and take that space off my memory card. After I just loaded a bunch of PSP games I mean to play, I'm down to 4.7gb or so. I don't really want to have a full 64gb just because I prefer digital... keeping that 3.x gb Killzone in the physical card slot seems to be the best idea for now.

Corpse Party + good headphones + spoiler free FAQ = excellent VN experience

The problem for me is I felt like I was doing the same combo over and over again. Skills didn't feel new and exciting, I don't know, I play hunting-styled games and RO didn't sit with me.

If you have Oath already get 7.

Sounds pretty fun! Doesn't sound much like AC though, which is more like a sims game but with animals and in real time

Edit: saw the vid, definetly nothing like Animal Crossing :)
