If you ever get the game stay away from the fishing part. It will make you want to do bad things to the developers... lol Stress was an understatement for the subquests related to fishing...

Heh, I finished it though. I miss that old fisherman giving me tips. :D

The colorful plants especially the white ones that you have to cultivate. Now that's the definition of stress.
i don't like 2nd hand, warranty or nothing

Hmmm. How about importing?

I really hope the Vita has a bright and long future (like how the PSP eventually picked up steam after a while). I've loved every minute of my time with it since I got one Black Friday.

With that said, all this talk about mobile really has me nervous about the future of this thing. If Japanese developers are moving away from handhelds to mobile, then that doesn't spell out a good future for us :(

Well, I'm used to stress while playing some games. I play a lot of MOBAs so getting partnered with bad teammates is more stressful than anything else I've encountered in my work or studies. Hopefully, it's not something luck related like super rare item drops (like 0.01%) or such as that is such a pain in the ass. :(

Im sure it will, since its going along the same way as the PSP did initially with its very slow start everyone freaking out calling it dead etc in the west.

Over here devs are making the exodus from the PSP to the PSV esp with the fact that PSP games can be played on the PSP. So lots more titles will be coming out in the near future. Lots of stuff announced more for the PSV these days too here in Japan which is nice.

Id give it another year for more titles to build up and devs to pop up here in Japan.

Though wish I could say the same about the situation in the West. Which I truthfully dont pay as much attention to, but from what I understand there is a huge difference in available titles with West Vs. Japan.

I had finished it also, but swear to god never want to do that again D:

Instead of me explaining it heres a video that shows how to fish.

Was a great time trying to figure all this shit out on my own initially lol

There's no luck involved on it. Just skill. It's pretty easy actually. I don't remember having any problems with it. I had problems with the trophy regarding the plants though.

Regardless, it's an awesome game and like I had no trouble regarding the fishing game while others do, you may not have any problems with it at all. Worst case scenario you may not like both. :P

They're both optional so if you can't stand it, you can just skip them.

I was wondering is there was an option to say how many hours you played a game in the system settings ? Like a save manager or something like that.
Sadly no. Loved that on the Wii and love it on 3DS (though 3DS is derpy and counts things like settings... xP)

Save file management is crap on Vita. In that there isn't any at all. You either back up the full game, or nothing.

It's not as bad if you've got PS+ and store on the cloud. Then there's at least that backup.

I miss the PSP manager. It was perfect.

I think it was a way for you to not easily get a hold of a trophy now that the Vita has its own set of it.

Downloading game saves from various websites was a shortcut to stuff in Dissidia. It may have a good purpose for testing out some stuff but once you do it just for fun, you may lose motivation on playing that game since everything's unlocked.

There are some ways that Sony could implement like the save files for DJ Max Portable games where your save file only works on one PSP. Although that would be a serious bummer if you have multiple PS Vitas or have to replace one.

If I get one next year, I'll tell you my exploits if you're still around. I'm no slouch in games so I know I can do it with some effort.

It'll pick up at some point. More JP devs are developing for the PSV right now than last year so we can take that as a sign of good things to come. For the west, I don't think it's gonna change in the near future. The only thing we can rely on right now is the success it will have on JP so Sony and other major third party devs and pubs will finally take notice on what this amazing handheld can do.

agreed you should be able to just back up a save from a vita game...if you're concerned about takign up space with backing up a whole game, I beleive there is a way to back up and then delete everything except the saves. i know its a round about way but it is possible im pretty sure.

Sorry, but Venus and Braves was never officially translated and released in America. Any translation was fanbased and the game would not be available on the SEN store.

Indeed! I saw two dates at wikipedia and thought one of them was for a localized version, but it's just PS2 and PSP dates.
And now I remember that I played it on PS2 back then. Never knew that a PSP version existed.

Some (most?) of PS3 saves are account locked. They could just do it for the Vita too.

Decided to post when you mentioned Venus and Braves

Awesome looking game that I would have loved to play. Was a fan translation ever done for this game?

Eh? I'm not aware of that. I was under the impression that you could just download save files and put them on your ps3. I think I even saw some websites hosting save files for a quick platinum.

Which Soul Sacrifice DLC's are worthwhile? There are too many on the store to slog through selecting then downloading them all.

All of them, really, if you like the core gameplay.
Each one adds two new archfiends and new spells.
They're only 100kb keys -- just use the webstore to buy them.

$15 is okay! I'd be cool with $15. Problem is it wasn't even close to that price in PAL regions. :( Worked out at about $21 US.

This is not directed at you, first of all, just a simple question/statement in general.
Exchange rates only matter if you're making purchases outside of your current economy. Thus, if the US did not exist, there would be no dollars or PSN NA store to compare to.
Now considering that for a moment, money is just the unit of measure of worth for something in an economy. So in theory, if Spelunky is priced at 15 units, it does not matter what those units are or what someone else's units are worth.

Where the fucked up shit happens is when somewhere like AUS decides to jack up the price for an arbitrary reason that isn't explained to the consumer, but I don't know too much about that... I just know that people in here from AUS complain about the ridiculous prices.

Corrosive, when is Sonic Racing gonna be up on PS+?
;)

It's December! Where is the game? Why can't I download it?
Hell, how do I even know what games are in the IGC for Vita at the moment?

Eff dat ish!

Funnily enough I spent $300 during the previous October offer, and for this current offer I spent like $15 only =P Unless my shop gets Ys today I'll prob. get it from the Store before the 3rd of December ends.

Yup.
And I'm grabbing Ys today too... just waiting for the store to update.

I'm not going to get Terraria until its really cheap, since it was announced for Vita so long ago, and then ends up coming to iOS months and months ago despite that version being announced after the Vita version. Oh, and the iOS version is 5 dollars I think, which I'd what the Vita version should be, at least at launch, for making us wait an OBSCENE amount of time.

No way am I paying $15 for this game.

*HIGH-FIVE*

Yeah, some games, like Demon's Souls have strange restrictions on them and are considered "locked". It's hard to back them up and even if you back them up to the cloud, you can only download them once every 24 hours or something.

I need to get a 2nd PS Vita TV to have hooked up to this monitor too.

Apparently Sony didnt put in place that 3 PS Vita system registration upgrade yet. Had spoke with someone yesterday from Sony about that. At least thats what they said.

I'm assuming that Vita TV's Western release is the moment 3-portable devices activation would take into effect.

Man that sucks D:

Yeah some titles which you would think should be on PSN are not. The US store doesnt have that Castlevania Lord of Shadows which surprised me since I always heard the game was pretty enjoyable for what it was. I got my unopened PS3 copy somewhere, but question of where as mentioned before in the mass of boxes that fill my place... D: So said fuck it one day and went to look for the PSN copy which does not seem to exist. :/
It sucks to be a late comer if you live in a third world country like, since in either US or Japan you could bought them from used-games stores. I searched used copies of Nier online in a local forum and didn't fine any after so many pages :/

Glad all Vita and (almost) PSP title are on PSN, which makes easier to access older and classic games. There is really no downside being late comer to Vita unlike 3DS (if you wished to access DS classics that is).

I want to asked a question: Are they possible to complete on solo playthrough?

Fair enough, but it's worth noting that the iOS version is like half the game, no hard mode at all let alone some of the 1.2 update that the PS3 / Vita version will have.

If your not buying it at that price because they made you wait? more power to you I guess. I think it's a fair price for what is 100's of hours of gameplay.

Edit: on another note, the Dpad on the Vita is god like! Spelunky is the only game so far I can really use it but it makes me want a be able to play Mario on this something rotten.

Yes, if you have the skills. I think Divine takes forever but definitely makes it possible.
You can also bring AI with you (just 1 if needed, if you went chaso, so you have someone to pick you up if you get hit too much).

(1) The game was promised MONTHS ago. The developer then ported it to other platforms first and seemingly treated the Vita version as "it'll be done when we get to it".
(2) The game has been available everywhere else for cheaper. I'm not sure what the android/iOS versions run, but Steam and PS3 can be had for under $4 and should have all the content.
(3) It looks like SCEA is going to pull another one of it's "certification" failures and the game isn't launching the same week here as it is in EU (unless US PS blog screwed up and just missed it in "The Drop").

(a) Hasn't there only been statements that *some* of the 1.2 patch is in the Vita version. I don't think there's confirmation that ALL of the 1.2 patch made it in, yet.

Now if Terraria is your thing and you want to support it because you *need* it on your Vita, great. But there are a ton of reasons not to support the game on Vita and I totally get why VW isn't.

Both are free for PS+ at the moment. I beat it on PC originally, which I think is the best version still, but this isn't bad.

Whoa... I'm still not sure how anyone can say this unless they vastly prefer a keyboard and mouse.
The touch to lock on is what refined the game from "I can't stand this anymore, I need to finish it and uninstall it" on PC to "AMAZEBALLS, I NEED THE PLATINUM" on Vita, for me at least.

NieR, Valkyrie Chronicles, Resonance of Fate, Tales of games, NieR, Drakengard 3, Ni no Kuni, Nier, Disgaea 3, Disgaea 4, Mass Effect, Dark Souls, Demon Souls,NieR, Atelier games, Dragon's Dogma, Rune Factory, Death Spank, NieR, Eternal Sonata and did I mention NieR? Get that too.

Nice. Now the only thing I need is money to subscribe to the service.

nier is the best game dat i've played

Got the Muramasa platinum last night. Took me just shy of two months, but I took a break for a month in there. feelsgoodman.gif

Now to decide what to play next.

Congrats!
Care to leave me a couple tips for Fury mode before you forget all you learned? I have it on my card and was planning to do the cleanup "Fury" runs as soon as I felt comfortable with it.

I found leveling the characters to use the
Oboro Muramasa
to be the most tedious part by far. I actually managed to finish the first playthrough with both Momohime and Kisuke without spamming sword arts and whetstones. Once you learn enemy patterns, it's remarkably easy. But because you don't need to worry about getting more hit points, leveling becomes unnecessary. So you can fly through the first playthroughs fast, but when you have to use other swords for endings, it sucks. The dragon took me a while, though, with Kisuke. Some of the caves are absurd, just because you'll break your sword before you have time to react and it's back to square-one. When you're collecting the blades, I think there are four or five in white caves. You're gonna have to use sword arts. The tempest and divine blade skills are the best, in my experience. The cave with the
two dragons
, I nuked the shit out of them with tempest. I didn't even try to do it fairly. The best place to level is the northernmost region, I don't remember the name. It's right in the middle of the map. There are snow demons, and the cave consists of five or six waves of snow demons. They give a lot of experience and they don't normally break your blades. I got Momohime from 52 to 90 in a couple hours, going in and out of the cave there.

They really need to release it now since over here there is the PSP / PSV OG / PSV 2k and the PSV TV.

Their system to unregister stuff is still broken apparently, which is why had to use the all unregister command which has a 6 month "cooldown" that cant be reset when I talked with the Sony person. Who still had no clear grasp of what was being talked about exactly. As he could not understand the concept that there are 2 different release methods on PSN 1 is supposed to be by device and the other is the all device 6 month kill switch. Was getting a headache with how long the conversation took and even then was still not convinced he understood what the problem was.

Wouldnt make sense for them to hold out on it considering that there still is no announcement for a PSV TV for the west yet. And some folks need that update now. Im wondering if its because they are screwing with all the backend thats why the single unregister commands are borked.

Really wished that they had separated things by devices instead. Such as PSP / PSV / PSV TV. Would make a lot more sense than lumping the shit all together in "portable" devices.

So I got the Vita this Black Friday and Persona 4. Really loving it even more than my PS4, except for one issue.

My hands get cramped after a few hours of play. Are there any recommended accessories for controller grips?

Seems like the mail system in Chile is as fast as the brazilian one when handling international orders, ha!

Amazon have some pretty fast shipping methods (normally sent by DHL). My launch Vita arrived in 4 days iirc.
But I don't think Sony have worldwide warranty, and you seemed concerned about it.

The Vita does PS+ cloud saves? I've never noticed it syncing any of my save games to the cloud. The only option I thought I had with digital titles were to copy the game to my PC to preserve the save state...

If it uses PS+ cloud, what happens if I copy a game over from my PC that has an earlier save associated with it? Will I get prompted as to whether I want to sync to the later cloud save? Can I force sync the cloud save somehow?

I have both the Hori grip and this. Both are great. The Hori doesn't have to come off to charge, the CTA does.

Top of the page again! Buy Tearaway, get Spelunky if you're in the EU, buy Stick it to the man.
