Ys oath is awesome old school gameplay. I am incredibly hooked on the game now. Everybody buy it while it is on sale!

I've answered this about 80123 times today.
It's probably held up by SCEAs stupid certification process.

call 1-800-vitagaf and speak to a live representative!
(corrosivefrost)

Why are there free games?
Gun Commando looked terrible, but I'll take it for free.

part of a holiday promotion i believe - every week there are two new free psmobile games....

last week was passing time and rym..dipnakshduia

Yeah, I grabbed those because PSMobile launched in new countries or something.

There's a
secret character
, a fair bit of treasure, and several crates down there, so if you have a shotgun and some health to spare it can be worth it.

In the Vita/PS3 version?!
Or in the PC version? PS3/Vita had a ton of characters just kind of there... I've gotten most of them, except for the one in the 5th world, I think.

I call asking about the free PS+ game but they hung up the phone on me.

Call and ask about your Soul Sacrifice patch.

(2) If there's a part with a huge fish? You don't deal with that, it should only be at the bottom of the level. If you really wanted to kill them all, I suppose you could jump in the water with a shotgun and go commando... but I don't think there's a reason to. The exit to the level should be on one of the pieces of land floating on the water.

Is that the Guacamelee DLC? Is it like a mini campaign or just more challenge-type areas?
I platinumed the main game but wouldn't mind going back to it during the holidays if the DLC's worth it.

Hey, thanks for the tip! I hate open water in games - especially when there are huge beasties lurking in it - so I never ventured down there. Gonna have to be brave!

So, as a surprise to myself I just purchased a Vita on a lark. I got it used at a good price, and its the 3G model. I actually wish I'd just gotten a wifi one, but I didn't even know until I got home and turned it on. Is there a way to disable the "no sim" message in the upper left?

Downloading persona4 and some demos.
I want to get the vita native ridge racer, but the psp one and RR4 are both on psn for much much cheaper.

(1) Yes, it's the DLC. Taken just outside the CEO's office. ;)
It's challenge areas, but they're actually really good. I think it was worth the $3.

(2) I don't think the Vita/PS3 versions have coffins down there. I just tried it twice. There's a ton of chests/crates, but there's no coffin. Research sugggests
The Viking
which I've had unlocked since day 1, I think.

I still had the old thread bookmarked.

Why does the playstation site lie to me?

Tekken 6 isn't good enough for you? :P

So I just got to the
Crash Site
of Tearaway. Game is becoming MUCH more fun.
That derpy dog thing that follows you around is A+

So I own the Persona games (UMD) for my PSP. This sale is tempting though. Will I notice a visual difference in buying the PSN versions for my Vita?

Beyond getting away from whatever junk you have caught beneath your PSP screen protector and the bigger screen the vita has, not really.

Just got Ys Memories of Celceta and Sly Cooper for the Vita today. Got Tearaway during that 30 dollar promotion at best buy.

My girlfriend plays all the damn platformers. I haven't even touched Tearaway yet and she already beat the game.

Good thing Ys bores her. Can't wait to play that in the crapper.

I've always been curious about how the online status amongst friends work with the vita. If I leave my vita in sleep mode with wifi on and a game on (or suspended in another tab) would my friends see me as 'online' and playing that game?

Or does it auto sign out after a set time in sleep mode? Or am I only 'online' if I have the friends tab open?

I think it goes in "away" mode (yellow icon)

Thankya! CEO, you say? Intriguing... for 2 quid I think I will bite.

One thing to note, for that DLC, is the entrance to the new area is a bit hard to find. If you leave the town of the dead by the upper right exit and drop straight down into the desert, head left into the chicken passage. Follow that for a room or two and you should find a guy to talk to.

Here's a link to an example challenge (#4):

Ah man. :( Well, I think Guacamelee might not be native either and it still looks great on the Vita screen (one of those few that look great despite being sub-native). Would you say the game looks nice and crisp even if it isn't native res?

I honestly can't really compare whether stuff is native or not... all the differences that my eyes can make is just "look good" or "look bad."

o_O

But I guess there is virtue in having such an untrained eyes like mine as well, huh, since I am pretty well easily pleased.

Uh, Killzone: Mercenary didn't save for me? The game told me it saves when the icon shows up. I exited the first shop and saw the icon. Quit the game. No load game.

Guess you really busy with Dark Arisen huh? I need to catch with it, so let me borrow your pawn to breeze through the main game that I already did with original DD :)

Have you try Soul Sacrifice yet? I really need some buddy to play with. Just bored with both Magusar and Carnatux as walking attack magnet.

Yeah, I have, just a little bit. I have this nasty habit of buying games only to neglect them, and the Vita suffers the worst from this stupid habit of mine, hahaha.

I haven't even gotten past the 1st chapter yet :P

Well... it's not that I dislike the game from the little that I have tried... maybe I should try to play it more seriously.

Although yes, currently Dark Arisen consumes my soul.

Settings -> Mobile Network -> Turn Off

I swear I'm on the most recent firmware because I have the "ps4 remote connection" icon, but under settings I dont see mobile network anywhere. I literally dont have a sim card, would I need one to enable that menu option?

Same thing happened to me. Had to go through the intro cutscenes again -__-

There is no "mid-mission" save.
If you bail on a mission before you complete it, you lose all your progress.
However, you can use the "shop" to create a checkpoint at will. That will replace your current checkpoint until you hit another auto-checkpoint, finish the mission, or turn off the system. If you turn off the system, all progress is lost.

It's funny -- it's got a bit of a blur at times, but it sort of seems to be a result of the "artstyle"... I don't know how to explain it. Where's bluemaxima with a direct capture video?

I guess that's a habit of mine. Its getting harder to play all of this game as you get older. I hope I could plow through most of the backlogs this holiday instead of wasting my time on GAF or other internet forum like last time :p

That's the reverse for me, Soul Sacrifice sucks my soul in. I barely arrived in Gran Soren, but I forget what should I do next. Don't have a clue to trigger the next main questline >__>

Mobile Network is under Network.

Seeing the word gun commando thrown around reminded me of the game Rocketbirds which I saw on the PSN for Vita. Anyone bought that? The trailers looked pretty good.

Plus wanted to use Keets lol

I looked up Cho Aniki Zero. Man, that game looks nuts! I like it.
And thanks for the reminder about the PSM games, I almost forgot.

Today was a dark day. My girlfriend spilled coffee all over my Vita earlier. I'm pretty sure it's dead as no lights will come on. I have it sitting in a bowl of rice so hopefully it comes back to life.

That is really unlucky. My vita has met ice milk some months ago and it still worked though it was luckily not drenched as yours seems to be.

Rocketbirds was a simple but fun game imho. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It has this mind jacking mechanic which is rather enjoyable. Looking forward to the sequel

Awesome thanks for the reply! Yeah wanted to have at least one mind kill type of game that you can just play and not have to think about anything. I dug the art style when I saw it initially announced.

Oh dear, that's horrible. I'm always afraid my son will spill his drink over one of my Vitas one day. I hope it comes back alive for you!

Riviera is on sale on US PSN, I played this on the GBA and liked it. Keep in mind it has date sim elements, but the music is pretty kickass.

So what do you guys think of Stick it to the man so far?

Oh I bought Ys from the US store before the promo ended along with Parasite Eve 2.
Once my 64 GB arrives I'm gonna weep from realizing I won't have enough space for all these PSX games =V

And this is why I always keep mine in a case when not in use. Which also includes when I put it down for a little while to type something out. Dont zip the case up but at least something is covering the face for a JIC situation.

How are Riviera and Yggdra Union?

I've been interested in those games for a long long time, browsed around and see some people say they're bad?

I liked Riviera, the battle themes are pretty good, plus you can play with the JPN voices. It has date sim elements but when I last played the game I never knew of their existence and never cared for them.

EDIT: TOP OF THE PAGE!
Get Stick it to the man (on US and EU PSN)
Get the new Ys game on US PSN
Spelunky is crossbuy and is on sale on EU PSN
A bunch of AKSYS and Atlus vita compatible games are on sale on US PSN, go grab them asap!

I really should. I even have a case. It just comes down to being too lazy to take off my grip, which I'm sure I'll regret one day.
