Exciting to see so many people getting vitas =D

I was supposedly going to be playing a lot of P4G but booted up Hotline Miami instead and ended up playing thirteen chapters in a row lol... (currently stuck at
the police station
, any one have tips for that level?)

Get better?
:P

I used the unicorn mask on that one and it did wonders.
Just starting up P4G right now. Intro's a bit weird, good thing yellow is my favorite color.

How bad is Very Hard? Should I start with regular Hard?

Go with Hard. You don't wanna go through with I what I went through. Mainly 1 hit deaths and replaying the whole stage because of forgetting to save.

Sword Art Online(based allgamesbeta collage), it has both first and third person view

To Love Ru infos & screens
Looks great!

Have we heard anything new regarding Zero Escape 3? If I remember correctly, there was going to be some news before end of 2013.
Not sure about that, but why haven't they ported the mobile version of 999 to PS Vita?

You'd think that'd be a no brainer. (I'd buy it again)

Hi guys,
What's the best/cheapest way to import a 64gb vita card to europe?
I've been reading about Nippon-Yasan in this thread, what would be the final price after shipping to europe?
Thanks

My impressions of the 2000 model are that it's nearly perfect. It actually makes the first Vita, which I thought had a very elegant design, feel like a clunker. The new one's really slim, and it still manages to not feel flimsy or small. Contours are perfect, and it just feels so much more natural in my hand. It's actually slim enough to feel more tablet-y, if that makes any sense.

The face buttons feel slightly clickier, more responsive, they even made the old dpad feel better than it already was. And dear lord it's nice to have a start/select that's easy to mash now. The angle on the triggers feels better to me for some reason, too. Battery life is supposed to be better, but it feels like it's going about the same rate on my first charge.

So the issue that keeps it from being all-the-way perfect is, of course, the LCD. It's still sharp as can be, and bright. But I notice the loss of vibrance every time I try a new game. In fact, the top brightness level makes me wish it could go a little more, it definitely feels a little "off" if you're used to the OLED. But......the new design actually holds more importance to me right now than the loss of colors that burn your eyes out. I played enough to just get into the game and felt the experience was just better all around. Plus, for people like me who left grease on the screen whenever you touched it, the new screen is like all my other touch devices, swiping leaves no trace. I played through Tearaway on my old one and the screen needed to be wiped off after nearly every big event, so this is a cool improvement. I bought both PSP models long ago, and this revision kind of kicks the pants off that one. Where that came off as a cheap revision, this is definitive to me.

looks really nice. thanks for the impressions.

In Europe too, in total for the card and fedex delivery it came to ¥11,900 yen (£67) I paid via paypal and my tracking data says it's in transit and arrives tomorrow. A lot of people say it can take a while to process your order, I paid via paypal incase that helped.

Edit: Bah just checked on it and its stuck in Shanghai, with shipping exception? Should I be concerned?

Hmmm, still too expensive for my wallet! And probably i would still get charged taxes by portugal's customs.
What's the cheapest way to buy a 32gb one in europe?
Thanks

Should be back on the Vita train post X-mas. Had to get rid of mine earlier in the year. I have missed everything after April. So far I know I need Teraway, Killzone, Dragon's Crown. Anything else I have missed?

10 000 yen (I used airmail, which is 420 yen) is what I had to pay

Those of you that have trigger grips, how are you storing your Vita with them attached? I'd prefer not to have to take the grips on and off, but it won't fit in most of the Vita cases I've seen with the grips attached.

As far as retail releases? Ys came out last week and it's apparently pretty good. If you've got a bit of an indie bent to ya, I think you missed Spelunky as well. Oh! Also, Rayman Legends.

Just bought Sly Cooper for 10$ digital on Amazon, didn't know I could do that from here in Thailand but a fake Beverley Hills 90210 address works wonders (It was the only US postcode that I knew) :D

But I can guarantee that Sly will be on PS+ in January now, It's been 3 months since there was a game on PS+ that I didn't have already :(

Hello fellow Thailander! Im here in Bangkok and coincidentally also playing Sly Cooper right now. Cheers!

More Tearaway impressions!

I just got to
The Caverns
. I definitely am starting to feel like the game is becoming more enjoyable. I think the first 30% or so is decent, but not as strong as this middle 30% has been. I have two complaints up to now...

1) I've noticed some definite slowdown in the past level or two. Particularly when
running from the Wendigo and the floor starts breaking up.
I hope there isn't much more, because that REALLY took me by surprise and kind of bothered me.

2) The camera is, at times, atrocious. Not the camera you use, but the game camera. It gets stuck, doesn't follow you right, or doesn't give you enough information in front of you to feel comfortable sprinting ahead. I find myself hitting triangle to scope the area in front me more than I want to.

Also, another question/complaint spoiler...
When you fall from the Lab into the Caverns, there's a bunch of confetti pieces that I didn't realize where obtainable during the falling only. Will I be forced to replay the entire lab section if I want to get those pieces for 100%, or is there a way to teleport back up to that falling section?

E: I would still recommend the game, definitely...But I am one of those who didn't enjoy the opening sections as much as others. I almost felt like I had to force myself through the first 20-30%. Once that was over, the game got much more enjoyable. I guess that's my "buyer beware" for the game. Based off of my current experience, you need to make sure you stick with it. The game gets better.

I didn't have any performance problems. *shrug*

As for confetti, you can just restart the stage over and over until you get them all. You don't have to complete a stage for it to save your confetti and other progress. Just let the auto-save finish.

Is Toukiden like a Monster Hunter type game in the Dynasty Warriors era?

Unfortunately yes, that's probably my only gripe with the game...

Finally gave on waiting for a P4G sale on eu PSN, and got it from playasia, hope it comes here fast...

(Hi to all VitaGAF, I'm new here :))

There's some definite slowdown, especially in the part he mentioned. It's not too bad but it's definitely there.

Just got my copy of Resistance; it's actually not all that bad so far. Finished the first chapter, and although it's not a pretty game and the audio is atrocious, it's played well so far and the guns are pretty neat and fun to use. It's certainly no Killzone, but I can't help but feel it got a bad rap.

I played a trial of it when it first came out. For some reason that trial isn't there anymore but whatever. Anyway I actually thought it was alright when I played it.

Anyone play the full version of Silent Hill: Book of Memories, is it worth it? It's pretty cheap now. Considering buying it, I liked the demo enough.

A lot of Vita games get a bad rap. Jak & Daxter Collection comes to mind. Not perfect, but no where near as bad as people act like it is. Curious how many people have actually played the games that they talk so badly about.

Resistance was fun, for me. It's not something I'd tend to recommend to people though, unless it's super cheap. Which I'm sure it is by now. (aside from on PSN, probably overpriced there). Easy platinum too, not sure about now though... with the online trophy. Though even at launch that trophy was the 'hardest' to get with all the connection problems.

N.O.V.A. a PS Mini is okay too, I got it on sale sometime for $0.99. It takes some getting used to the controls, even if you move the camera to the right stick you still need to use the d-pad for reloading and stuff. So it's a bit confusing/jarring. It's basically a less interesting Halo.

I wish they'd port the N.O.V.A. series to PS Vita natively. It's simple enough (due to being a mobile series) that the lack of buttons shouldn't be an issue like it is for FPS series that are on consoles. So controls would be all button mapped (in theory) so it'd be a winner.

Vita needs more FPS games IMO. And mobile ones would fit perfectly on it.

At least Borderlands 2 is coming, but it's more 'RPG FPS' so not quite the same feel.

You don't get penalized if they take damage. Points-wise, NPCs can earn you more in the end since they're fodder for saving/sacrificing. Bringing allies increases the HP of archfiends though, which can make the actual fight harder since the AI are kinda dumb.

They could be great distraction for the archfiend though, giving you some room to breath and sacrificing thing. I wonder though if NPC also increases the durability of cursed part as well?

I love Zelda. I'll have to check that out.

Thanks everyone.

Just be warned, the puzzles are much harder in Alundra and they do have periodically some rather frustrating platforming segments. But I hope that doesn't dissuade you because the full package of the game is tremendous.

Judging from this press release, we don't know if it's on the Vita yet. Maybe you confused it with Frozen Synapse? (I don't think we know anything about a release date for that, either; the most recent info I could find is from September, when they said it would be out when it's ready.)

There was a short gameplay video of the Vita version posted a while ago, as well. I'll see if I can dig it up.

EDIT: Found it.

Finishing Ys Chronicles. What an amazing game, on to Oath in Felghana.

I'm on Ys I right now, after 20 or so years since I played it when I got my Turbo CD. Playing this remake on the Vita has been incredible, just going through the Shrine has been my favorite time gaming all year. After Book II, I'm on to Oath as well.

Does the bump combat take away from the experience at all? Playing Hydlide wasn't exactly my favorite gaming experience of all time...

Yep. I was kinda weary of the bump system before, but in fact, is a faster FFXII system. I'm gonna miss it in Felghana. The only thing that I didn't like it was the constant framerate stutter. Kinda distracting.

PS - Xseed should make more sales. Bought all 3 Ys games at once, and just waiting for the Trails + HMH sale.

The old Ys bump combat isn't a drawback at all to me, it's good twitch gameplay when you're not as powerful as you should be for a certain area, and when you're overpowered for an area you can bulldoze through it.

top of the page: Ys games are still on sale, buy x 3
