Truth is, I really enjoyed MotorStorm RC until the "super charged" events, which are (roughly) the final 1/3rd of the game. The regular events are short, fun and easy to jump in and out of. The super charged ones, set you to play on every map from the selected festival with a super fast car, that it just doesn't fit the small tracks. On top of that, the AI cut corners perfectly at full speed, while you get stuck in that one pixel, that have extended over the edge...

And reading about Sonic Racers' difficulty, it's AI probably cheats even more, which isn't fun, nor challenging. It's simply not fair.

*eyes widen*

I hope I can make it without rage quitting, because the demo was great fun.

The supercharger events are the best ones! Of course the cars being faster means you have to adapt to the courses, and they play out differently than if you were in a slower car. But it's just like real life RC (watch some YT vids), where you have to manage your speed much more carefully to get the best time on a course. I'd imagine that they're almost impossible if you're not playing with the analog speed controls though, so maybe that's where you went wrong? With the analog control there's infinite depth to improving times on the faster courses, it's brilliant!

Not a dig -- just practice and learn the flow of the game. Learn how to exploit the scoring system and you'll do fine.

If you need some tips to get your ranking up:
(1) If you're playing with human partners (not sure about AI), you can use the AoE healing spells to get bonuses of +10, +20, and +30. Easy way to tack on 60 points.
(2) Always bring spells the archfiend is weak to and the proper element to break the hell once induced. Putting something into <xxxx> hell will get you a bunch of points. Breaking it out will get you a bunch more. You will also get points for archfiend vulnerability.
(3) Use your black rite for an easy +80 (or is it more).
(4) Sacrifice someone (or let them sacrifice you) if possible. This is where the mechanics get funky because you have players that want you to sacrifice them so they die and then start spamming sacrifice me -- it ends up getting them a bonus rare spell if they're sacrificed.
(5) Take as little damage as possible -- this will become easier as you learn the attack patterns.
(6) You can also get points from hitting the vulnerability of the peon creatures.
(7) You can get points for sacrificing or saving a certain number of creatures. You can get points for saving teammates enough times, I think, as well.
(8) Do it as quick as possible. Some of the above will help you with that.

There are possibly others I'm forgetting. I haven't played in awhile since agent disappeared and cyborg's save got borked.

Thanks for the tips!

I'm still early in the game (just finished Innocence in the Avalon Pacts) and a lot of the time, these boss fights are my first encounters with said boss, so I'm still stumbling with weaknesses. I'm playing 13/10 right now, probably looking at going neutral, and I tend to get 3流 and 2流 ranks a lot (lower ranks.) I just don't see how you can avoid some of these attacks unless you bring an NPC that the boss can snack on. I mean take Harpy and her vortex (annoying) or Centaur and his blazing saddles (charge attack). You can't outrun them, so you're going to get spanked.

I don't know, I'm giving it another chance. I like the game, it's just more frustrating than say Toukiden, the other game I'm going back and forth on.

Run away by holding X and the Harpy can't vacuum you. I don't know what Centaur attack you mean but rolling nearly always did the trick for me.

Getting the highest rank regularly is pretty easy in Soul Sacrifice, just follow frost's tips.
Because of that, I was very perplexed when the IGN reviewer (I think Colin Moriarty) didn't get the trophy for it after he had reviewed the game according to a trophy listing site.

As nampad says below, you can normally just run from the Harpy vacuum.
A better trick is using the aoe healing spell. When you punch the ground and extend the circle, it anchors you.
As for the Centaur, dodge roll. Unless you mean the arrow barrage -- and that's just more of a "keep him in your sight and recognize the startup animation so you can run the hell out of the way". :)

Modern reviewers... love those guys.

Sick loot! Put it in IMG tags so we can all see. ^^

Bask in the glow.

Hmmm. I entered my code for 3 months of plus. Downloaded some free plus games. Now when I try to hit the plus icon while playing Hotline Miami (which I'm playing through plus), it tells me to join plus.

Are you connected online? Shame they haven't fixed this but games you download off Plus stay with the tag of the last day you have your subscription to when you download them. So when you renew, it doesn't really register it. However, I read somewhere that it should do it automatically once you boot it up again after it expires and you connect to the internet...?

Man, my dark art must have sacrificed my running shoes or something because I get sucked in ALL THE TIME even when running away holding X. :/

Centaur isn't so bad. I still beat him on the first try. Just frustrating when he knocks you down against some terrain, then just pummels you while you're trying to get up.

Yeah, I'm connected. It didn't even have the Plus symbol next to my ID on the friends list for a bit, but now that's there.

Hmm I guess try a couple of times again and if nothing just upload your saves and redownload? (This is going to happen to me next week so I'm just trying to help out).

DAMMIT ALL TO HELL.

I just made it to 4-3 in Spelunky. I had 11+ lives, 1 bomb, and 13+ ropes with the climbing gloves and the compass.

I was trying to deal with one of those shaman jackholes and didn't know he could basically telefrag you and it was insta-death. F#@$!@%$%@!!!!

Use the AOE healing spell. It roots you to the ground so you can't get sucked in. Boulder spells also work.

I'm at Episode 3 of Walking Dead, and it's truly incredible. Sorry I waited this long.

No complaints on the handheld version aside from some staggering load times before a major event.

If you're liking TWD, look forward to playing The Wolf Among Us whenever you do. I'm *loving* it, just as I did TWD. :)

Are there little trigger clip add on things for the vita? I literally just got one on a huge whim but the thing is so... Awkward. Spelunky is really hard to play compared to my ds4.

Oh! Forgot to mention psn my is velocialume I'd really like some friend requests. I have no friends :(

I have, spelunky, persona and soundshapes.

Ah, so I finally decided to get a 64 gig card. Walked up to a local store (nice to live in Asia), plopped down $90, got my card.

I'm finally able to move the stuff I've been storing in the PS3 for the longest time: Uncharted GA, Sine Mora, Oddworld, Ys Oath and Seven, FFIX. And I won't have to do the content manager shuffle

I still feel a bit stung by it all, but I hope the convenience and futureproof-ness makes it worthwhile. I am normally very stingy (I buy games only at $20 or below) so at the back of my head the memory card price situation still pisses me off a bit, but then I thought that at this point in my life my time and convenience is more valuable than my money so why not make it work for me?

Now, I just need a Nyko grip and my trifecta of Vita investments (Plus, large card, grip) is complete...

I'm really liking Stick it to the Man so far. I'm glad I waited for the Vita version though, seems like the experience is better with touch controls for the hand.
The humor seems very hit or miss so I can imagine some people might not enjoy it, though.

So, I just purchased Unit 13 (Was able to snag it for $5 thanks to an Amazon promotion). I redeemed the voucher that came inside the case, and it redeemed for a digital copy of the game.

Is there a reason for that? It seems odd, since no other Vita titles I know of nets you a digital copy with the physical purchase (The exception being Cross-Buy PS3 titles).

Should have given it to me D:

Man, I'm trying to focus on Zelda, but I keep going back to P4G. Having a lot of fun with it, but I think I'm just more in the mood for Persona atm. Doesn't hurt that the Vita screen looks like a living painting after a couple of hours staring at ALBW :p

What's Lumines like?

Yeah, you have good tastes bro. If you want some GAF friends, my GAF ID = PS ID

Kinda like tetris but with music. And instead of filling lines, you have to make squares with 4 or more pieces that share the same color.

There's a demo of Lumines on the store in US to try

It's a puzzle game to match like colors into squares all while listening to some nice tunes.

It's also hugely addictive.

I still remember back in Lumines 2 tripping out to see my friends band in it haha. Very cool stuff and am glad to see the series still going strong. I got my Tetsuya Mizuguchi signed copy of the first Lumines around packed up also. Dude is good peeps.

MY 64 GB HAS SHIPPED! I SHOULD BE GETTING IT BY MONDAY!!!!11111

EDIT: ALL NEW VITA OWNERS! WELCOME TO THE CLUB! If you like adventure games, I strongly recommend getting 'Stick it to the man' its on EU and US PSN, its a great 'take a break game' from your main Vita game and each chapter has good checkpoints/save areas.

Has Unit 13 or Super Star Dust Delta ever been on sale in the US? I've been waiting for one ever since I got my Vita in March
