Well, I was right again.
To think they went to VGX to show off that.
He kind of always was, but no not really.
Many of us already expected to see Cranky Kong, so no surprise that you are right. Technically most of us are right.
How was he always a possibility when he was never playable?
I was pleasantly surprised, because I didn't hear about the boxart leak.
why are people angry about it?

He's been playable before, in Barrel Blast and Donkey Konga.

So Cranky is a possibility now?

I hope we get a newcomer soon.
I'm starting to think we'll all die beforehand.
The Wii U's an absolute disaster. The logical approach would be to try and get as many people excited about the system before Christmas as possible, but this is Nintendo, and they rarely do what's expected. You might be right.I thought the Direct would be in January than December

Because he wore a samus pin and then left![]()
So no new direct until next E3 it is!The Wii U's an absolute disaster. The logical approach would be to try and get as many people excited about the system before Christmas as possible, but this is Nintendo, and they rarely do what's expected. You might be right.
The Nintendo Directs alone aren't huge, but the news/footage makes its way to other outlets the same way traditional info drops do. Nintendo Directs are simply a dispersal method, and quite honestly, they're the most marketing Nintendo's ever done in its history.Nintendo Directs reach a small audience and they've got nothing else to announce for the immediate future. There's little to gain from a December direct that more conventional marketing wouldn't do better.
The January Direct did wonders for the Wii U, right? The Wii U's an absolute disaster. The logical approach would be to try and get as many people excited about the system before Christmas as possible, but this is Nintendo, and they rarely do what's expected. You might be right.

Yeah, it's possible but I'm hoping for Dec Direct since they did released Direct during every Dec. Jan Direct is more likely to happens tho.
"Marketing" might not be the best word for me to use even though it still applies. I'm not talking about TV commercials. For the most part, Nintendo used to announce a game and then sit on it until its release. They were notoriously hands-off compared to the other major publishers. With Nintendo Direct and Iwata Asks they're at least attempting to let us in on more than they normally would.Uh, what? Nintendo's done tons of big marketing pushes in the past. The Wii Would Like To Play campaign pushed more units than any Nintendo Direct announcements could.
Haven't you heard? Smash is becoming the new Last Guardian.I hope we get a newcomer soon.

Did they have both Jan and Dec direct last time?

Just so you guys know where we're at, here's how long it's taken for the characters to be announced:
Sonic - 5 days
Toon Link - 14 days
Luigi - 26 days
Pikmin & Olimar - 31 days
Monday, December 9 - 32 days
Peach - 36 days
Marth - 37 days
If we don't get a character by Friday then we'll have gone the longest we ever have without a new reveal. My expectations are always low or even nonexistent, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not anticipating a character next week.
