First I'm hearing about the mixup thing, but if he did the same mixup every time, that wouldn't really fool anyone either. That sounds incredibly transparent too. FChamp crumbles in high stakes long sets. You just mentioning the 15-10 should mean you know dude is unstable and can destroy himself before the opponent can because that's exactly what happened to FChamp. Chris G has gotten better over time, and come to think of it we haven't actually seen many long sets from him, but he has a history of being unstable in reset brackets. Better now of course, but there's less to go off of there so you can't just give dude the shadow of the doubt and say Chris G was worthy in a format he is uncomfortable with and refuses to play with others in. It's hard to substantiate Nemo being somehow grizzled when any substantiating evidence comes with an asterisk.

Why are you assuming I'm talking about 3/5 consistency? Not like format matters, I'm talking matchups and when we originally heard of Nemo and had those long sets with Japanese players came out. Dude was not invincible. He's not immune to getting washed by a team he's not prepared for. FChamp and Chris G are MvC3 hallmarks, even if he hasn't played against them he has more to research if he wants to.

There aren't strong arguments either way is what you should take out of this, but Nemo has a lot more to prove than Fanatiq is the bottom line. MvC2/MvC3, it doesn't matter. Dude has experience going the extra mile to earn the W, and that isn't just impromptu money matches backing it up.

Rayray fell for it in the mm. Just watch the panel and it's all explained there and an interesting watch to boot.


edit: I can't seem to find the panel archive now, otherwise I'd link it. I can't remember the details but basically whenever RayRay would walk in to a room where Fanatiq was playing, he would use the same mixup or setup or whatever. No matter what, the same one. Then come the money match in the first game he did that same setup once again and RayRay caught him with it. That confirmed to him that it was in Ray's head, then he stopped for the rest of the set. I'm sure someone else who's seen the panel and knows more about marvel can share the specifics.

Think you are mixed up, but it does raise a good point.

How do people feel the post match marvel exhibition will go down?

The way I see it, the room is hype, the winner has just won the Capcom Cup and they know they will get their share of the split pot plus a nice trophy.

Then what? Flocker walks up with a sheepish grin on his face and everybody looks around like they don't know what to do. "Do we really need to bother doing this?" they all say, because the tournament is over and there are no fucks left to give.

Markman sends a DM so they decide to play it out. It is the most boring and sterile Marvel play imaginable. Somebody wins, but nobody knows because nobody is really paying attention. Later somebody points out the score was wrong and there was another game to play, but nobody really cares.

Something like that?

I love that I can recall playing like half of these guys. Fucking laptop better be 100 percent when Acer sends it back. Vampire Savior is the only fighter that can help me escape the Skullgirls vortex.

Clawww, sorry to not meet up at NEC; I was on a limited time-table and I didn't get your message until I got home.

Friday night at NEC was great, seeing a lot of friends that I don't get to see too often, and got a ton of work done
(all will be revealed this week)

The Battle Royal was a blast, lots of great moments, and the bar/room/streaming setup was fantastic. I'm personally not a team tournament person, but that much Marvel in one place is always a good thing.

The team tournament format has to be revamped though. It just takes too damn long (this is indeed what happened at NEC).

Oh, and I bodied FT10 MM that I had set up vs a TO (think "Sponsor vs. TO" thing) in Super Turbo as well (10-1). I always get good feels when I play ST. Might go to "2 Old 2 Furious" next Friday if timing works out.

All-in-all, despite that I was only there Friday, it was a great time.

Really? Chris G unless he drops a lot of combos then maybe Justin / FilipinoChamp will get a chance. The rest might be pretty unpredictable I'll give you that but finals will be anything but.
 
Capcom Cup can do 30,000. I mean Dreamhack did 20,000 viewers and that never happened before, just announce a special exhibition with Daigo.

Well capcom is spending mills on Mobile games , clearly managing money went out the window a while a go.

And hey I am sure disney new advertising for those mahvel movies, it would be cool if they pulled a new marvel out their ass.

Only thing that scares me is most of the characters I liked and wanted to play with are pretty good and I am afraid in new marvel they will be poo. Though Magneto is still decent so there is hope.

So how's the netcode for Mahvel Origins on PSN? It's $3.75 tomorrow for plus members and I'm tempted to get it.

It is GGPO, so it is really good. It doesn't work miracles though so don't try and play your buddies on other continents whilst flooding your network with streamed video or something.

So my wife surprises me with changing our internet from cable to fiber optic, I finally get a Star Bound beta and now Combofriend shows USF4 stuff a new rumor about a Marvel patch?! What a weekend.

edit; I would love a UMvC3 in Xbone/PS4. I already bought 4 copies of the game, what's one more?
