Started playing through Disgaea 3 last week after having it downloaded from the PS+ freebie months ago. As much as I love the gameplay, item world, and overall item/equipment system, I just can't stand the story. Basically at the point of skimming through the dialog filler garbage to get the cliffnotes version since they repeat the same few points constantly. I'm not a big RPG player so I'm not sure if they're all like this. Just bought Ys and probably will get P4G sometime next year so hopefully they have better presented stories.

Is there anything like the podcast iOS app on Vita? Or can I download podcasts through the Vita web browser? I'm thinking of getting an iPod touch, but i'd rather get a Vita if I can use it as my podcast player.

Spelunky is on sale for $3.75. I haven't played it yet but I know it's pretty popular around here. I'll be picking it up when I get home.

Looks like I'll have to wait 'til the end of the month to join the master race. I'll need my credit card statement and I only receive those monthly. :(

So I'm on the final boss of Ys I and just wanted to share my frustration...

AkkhdkaksfbksfFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUadadadsfsfsfsfsfsffsgs!!!!

I have got it down to one hit several times, but always fluff it. Actually feels good that skill will conquer eventually with little bit of luck to boot. Back at it I guess.

Which Archfiend is the best to get yours allies killed? I need Anguished SE from Venatar.

Generally allies can be easily killed by any archfiend since they're utterly useless. Constantly whistling is a great way to prevent them from attacking or healing themselves. The only problem is is that they'd follow you, so be prepared to take a few hits. Stick to an archfiend that you can defeat easily by yourself too. I prefer my farming to be over as quickly as possible :)

Not with Carnatux. He love messing around with boulder of his, costantly make the archfiend flinch.
I'll probably take Cerberus then. In my experience it is the only one that can kill me and Magusar both during story chapter. Merciless as it not gives you a single chance to heal unless your allies draw the aggro from you.

I made the mistake of playing and s-ranking all of MGS: Peace Walker after MGS:2... instead of jumping right to MGS:3 from MGS:2.

So, I've gone from the awkward controls of MGS:2 to the "dual stick glory of pin-point over-the-shoulder-camera precision, CQC control, instant hold-up and on-the-run head shot mastering" in PW back to a horrible broken mess of controls in MGS:3.

Anyone have any advice to make my controls regression a little easier to digest?

I remember there was a sorcerer in Avalon Pact VI whose petrifying daggers were particularly deadly. I used her to get the ally LE/SEs.

Edit: The mission is called Cavedweller Fella and can be accessed after you save Werewolf in the quest before that.

What is everyone's stance on Persona 4? I am tempted to get it but I heard it was too long, last game I played from atlus was catherine and I enjoyed the narative and feel of the game very much. Also does anyone know if guacamelee is coming out on PS plus in NA anytime soon?

P4G is almost universally loved here. It does take a very long time to complete though (it took me ~70 hours in my first playthrough), and the dungeons can get tedious especially if you don't enjoy turn-based JRPGs.

Best Killzone game yet, IMHO. Loved every second of the campaign, and the MP is good, albeit severely lacking in its number of maps.

Despite the constant backtracking (probably a limitation of the platform), I'd have to agree. I certainly enjoyed the campaign a heck of a lot more than SF. Well designed levels and solid gameplay.

What did you think of it? I have no problem with turn based, I spent 140 hours on Pokemon X so if its a good enough game I'll sink it plenty of hours with no problem.

P4G could possibly be my favorite game. I've been playing since 1986. It's awesome. But I can understand how it might not appeal to everyone. It hit all the right buttons for me. It is long. My first playthrough took 100+ hours, but I was dedicated to manipulating it and getting all max S-Links. Loved every second of it, and my subsequent playthrough.

It's my favorite Vita game. You should definitely get it if you want a lengthy RPG with a good story, great characters, and amazing music. :)

Thank you very much, thats what I was hoping to hear. I'll order it off of amazon right now. So does anyone have any word on guacamelee and if its going to be free on PS PLUS NA?

If it's not my favorite game ever, it's in the top 5. But it. As other have said it has a good story, and amazing soundtrack and great characters. If you like the collecting aspect, you'll probably like Persona fusion. Dungeon can't tire you at times, but you can always take a rest and return to the game when you feel like doing it.

My first physical games! Finally arrived last night. Haven't started P4G yet, but I'm really excited. It didn't have a manual of any sort, so that sucked lol. I also found out that I suck at Virtua Tennis, anyone have tips for a beginner in the series?

Mmm... Persona. You have an A+ in my book. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks to you, Persona 4 needs one less copy to become first Vita million seller (though I think U:GA is probably there right now, but there isn't any data) xD.

I haven't played Virtua Tenis, sorry.

Yea it is a little tough, the controls of mgs3d on the 3dd is the best controlling MGS3 version out there.

On topic though, how does the reassignment of the face buttons to analog work? Is it pretty stable? I keep debating on debuting PW after having it in psp while I wait for GZ.

Definitly stay away from Play Asia - I'm waiting 35 days for my Muramasa.

Good to hear someone else is having problems with PA at this time of year. I had something sent out on Nov 11th which has yet to turn up. PA used to be a lot better, so I'm assuming/hoping it's going through Christmas delays, rather than be totally lost.

I ordered my 64gb from Yesasia, but because of the delay of waiting for another item in my order to become in stock I missed guaranteed Christmas delivery by a couple of days. Bah.

Perhaps I'm too late but I really didn't like P4G. I'd never played a JRPG before but thought I'd try it after reading the ecstatic reviews. Its probably a solid game, but I found it dull and irritating. I even tried for about 40 hours because I was convinced I was wrong! Nope. It's not for me.

Do you choose the free shipping? I have similar problem with that. I ordered Ace Attorney Apollo Justice, Ace Attorney Investigation, and Ace Attorney Justice For All. I split the shipping so I can avoid taxes and nonsensical bureaucratic proceedure, AAAJ with AAI while AAJFA alone. For the former I choose extra $5 for tracking, while the latter by some mistake, was shipped free with no tracking. The result was that the first package of AAAJ and AAI arrived within one week. While AAJFA arrived at my door nearly 2 weeks later.

I constantly buy from Play-asia, and their free shipping is very erractic. Once my copy of DeSu 2 arrived within just 2 weeks, while for Etrian Odyssey I waited for almost one month. My personal advice, add extra $5 to the shipping so you don't have to wait for indefinite time.

I really vouch for AmiAmi. Great prices and always arrives early and safely. I cannot vouch for the Brazilian Customs, though. Fuckers always keep 2-3 weeks to release, and only got taxed once.

I don't typically like jrpgs and p4 is my favorite game if all time.

It is a long game(Not because of grinding I might add). That being said, there's something about Persona 4 that makes almost everyone who plays it like it. For example, I play a large variety of games, including shooters. Now one of my friends who I play shooters with a lot and who constantly complains about Japanese games whenever they're brought up(Which is funny because his experience with Japanese games extends to Chromehounds(Which is one of his favorite games), Armored core, and a couple JRPG a friend of his played while he was watching. He ended up buying a vita for remote play, suffice to say I told him not to get Persona 4, because it is a very japanese game with everything he complained about in it. He sees it for $20 can't resist, I expect him to give up in the first hour and talk about how trash the game is.

Two days later he's played 28 hours. Keep in mind, this guy has a wife, two kids, and a job. Guy loves it. Blew my mind.

Don't have it but it's one of those games I keep eyeing up on the store while whispering 'Gimme a reason......'

Are you thinking of taking the plunge?

Dude it's BoF3. I mean OK, it's like $10/8 Pounds on the EU Store, but BoF3 is considered the best game in the series. If you like jRPGs, just fuck it if it doesn't go on sale soon and get it.

I use a US account with my Vita btw.
