3DS Streetpass Experiences

I went for it anyway, he had a split of 7 million and 1.5 million so I won by spying twice. Felt good!

If I go to a McDonalds with a Nintendo zone do I have to connect to it or will I get streetpasses by just going by?

Well I was literally in the drive through and while sitting in the car I could connect to Nintendo Zone. But I didn't get any street passes so at this point I've totally given up.

I do get anywhere from 2-5 streetpasses on busy school days but this is my last semester of school. At this point I think that's it for me as far as street passes go...unless I go to an anime con or something...

Got about ~50 passes at the Madoka movie showing tonight. One pass was another JP 3DS too, but I dismissed the queue without checking for JP passes because I was late and didn't have time to run any Streetpass until after the movie and I was trying to give puzzle pieces to as many people as I could T_T

Crikey. I almost blew my one chance at completing Mansion

I used all 3 of my remaining potions and scraped-through with 22HP remaining.

It seems that, at least in Europe, it's possible to update Mii Plaza to 3.3 version, but I keep getting errors when trying to update ;_; Also, the notification didn't mention any new puzle pieces...

I am really struggling to get anywhere near the target score in Mii Force 2-1. I always end up about 5,000. What am I missing?!
That is the auto scroller, right? The first bit moving west has a lot of things that are easy to miss (also it is easy to die by getting trapped in the southern corner).

Yeah. I got the blue spotpass notification and everything, but it errors out every time I try to update. Dammit.

I swear I've destroyed everything I can. I'll keep trying, but 23,000 appears to be my ceiling!

Apparently the update just links to NNID somehow for buying DLC (I don't see why it needs to as otherwise all games with DLC will need an update).

How many Miis are you using? I think them all being alive and brinigng more increases score (you would think the opposite).

Has anyone gotten the streetpass update to work yet? I additionally can't get into the shop.

I hope there is a Link between Worlds puzzle.

I managed to update a few hours ago, first time too.
There are no differences that I can see...
It would be cool if everybody who has a NNID has it display in their Streetpass info as a link to their Miiverse account... but Nintendo.

My update just went through.

Yup, no new puzzles. I'm not sure what the update did.

Dumb question. Were you always able to send special Miis from the Mii maker to Mii plaza? In Mii Maker hit Y on a special Mii...

I'm sure people were complaining that they sent Miyamoto (yeah it was that long ago) to the Mii maker then couldn't use him in the games.

It also makes me wonder what different shirt colours mean for special Miis in the games (well mainly the gardening one, is the Eggelnsia the green phantom plant which suggests special Mii=phantom plant of shirt colour).

Yeah, not too many Defaulters out there. I passed 4 yesterday, which is somewhat miraculous.

I'm pretty sure I'll finish Norende soon, so I don't need y'all anyway.

It's all coming to a head this weekend. I'm going to get the last few puzzle pieces, finish Norende, and conquer the last battle over the next few days.

StreetPass Weekend is already turned on at the relay points, the Miis I got from my morning Starbucks were all new and all from different states.

I'm in Canada and got a couple of states and one from Japan (?) at my local mickey d's

To be fair, the Japan one could be someone like me, who also has a JP 3DS. You can ONLY pick regions in Japan on those, ergo, mine is from Hokkaido, because I was really sleepy at the time, and it was a region I could read.

(And wasn't Tokyo, because that would have been boring.)

Streetpass needs a Miiverse community so we can have screenshots.

Or would being able to take pics of other people's Miis be too extreme for Nintendo?

When you get 10 tags but only 4 people in the plaza *sigh*. Since there were 10 tags Mario 3D guy didn't get in (Special Miis only appear if there is a tag for them to appear in...the go to gate arrows appears even with 0 tags though).

Play as Mii or select the streetpass option in MK7 and post a screenshot? The former shows your mii and the latter shows other peoples Miis.

FINALLY. The very last stage was the last one I needed. Got it on the last try with this squad; first try was embarrassing when I rammed the very first enemy that appeared instead of shooting it. Now all that's left is clearing Arcade Mode and unlocking all reputations...

...

...I'm not even halfway through the reputations...

Mine's in Niigata! Because I just picked randomly.

I could use some JP Streetpass love... these Chibi Robo and Darumeshi Sports Shop puzzles are never going to be done .-.

Whereas I am over 2/3 on the reputations. And can't even get 3-1 to clear with all pods intact.

My JP 3DS wouldn't be able to help you though, I don't even HAVE either of those two puzzles!

What color Miis are you using? I find light blue to be the best all-purpose weapon to have, and light green is insanely good at killing bosses quickly.

If you're ever in the area again you can get the puzzles from me and join in my suffering. .-.

A level 3 Purple is the best boss weapon there is, but is very tricky to learn how to use correctly

Yesterday I killed the 5-2 boss in 4 atacks with it

I just spent thirty minutes or so at Home Depot looking around and ended up pushing through about sixy Miis through Mii Plaza and took in ten for Kingdom Hearts, sixteen for Etrian Odyssey IV and eleven for Etrian Odyssey Untold. BUT NOT ONE FOR LINK BETWEEN WORLDS.

Still, that hit a whole third of my Kingdom Hearts StreetPass achievement, so holla.

The only thing 3D Sega Arcade remakes is missing is StreetPass to send high scores.

I've read elsewhere on the net that during this weekend, simply using the attwifi SSID on your router will allow you to get national StreetPasses. I'm not sure though.

I set my router's SSID and immediately both 3DS's received Tom from Nintendo's special Mii via Nintendo Zone SpotPass. Then ONE of the 3DS's received the Mii from my other 3DS. To be clear, the two had gotten a regular two-way StreetPass with each other about 15 minutes earlier, so it seems as if the first 3DS connected and left its Mii behind but had nothing to receive and then the second 3DS received the first one's Mii. I didn't get 6 Miis from all over the country as people have been reporting elsewhere on the net though.

I guess I'll find out in about 8 hours if it works or not.

If I go to a McDonalds with a Nintendo zone do I have to connect to it or will I get streetpasses by just going by?

All you have to do is go to a Mcdonalds and hang out inside for about five minutes WITH YOUR 3DS CLOSED AND WIFI ENABLED and you will get streetpasses. I live in Vermont which is a lot of country and got about 1-2 street passes every few weeks. Now while commuting for my job, I stop by a circuit of 3-4 Mcdonalds and reach my capacity of streetpasses every day! All I do is take a leak in their bathroom and walk back out and that gorgeous green light is flashing. DON'T BOTHER GOING INTO THE NINTENDO ZONE APP AT NINTENDO ZONES. You won't get street passes that way. Just walk in, wait for 5-10 min and if there are streetpasses in their queue, they're now yours. Don't be discouraged if you don't get any sometimes as that just means you either already have streetpassed those particular miis that day or there are no new streetpasses.

well that would make sense. since under normal circumstances doing this would just be setting up a relay point which only you interact with.

Five minutes is a bit much.

Most of mine come in after about a minute or so, usually less.

Also, I am convinced that Nintendo Zone relay doesn't send A Link Between Worlds data. >:-(

Went to three 3 McD's today and only managed to get hits from one of them. Had more luck at the two Best Buys I went to (12 at one and 18 at another)

Got a few more states, got someone from Brazil, got someone from Germany, got a new region in Japan, got a new region in Canada

Flower Town: I've been the getting seeds off of all my rare plants, trying to get one for the Festiflower/Jingle Bell plant in time for Christmas (actually in time for the last day of final exams, so I can tag my classmates with it). Is there any way to make it more likely to get a seed for a rare plant?

Edit: I had one seed that was 85% likely to give me the Jingle Bell plant, but I got the other plant. :(

Apparently it's not working - though I saw posts elsewhere claiming it did. I just got my second pass, and once again one of my 3DS's got the other one's Mii but the other got nothing, then shortly after they got a normal StreetPass with each other.

Still haven't had any Layton tag since I got the game a month ago, and I've getting tags from several different relays since I bought it. Seems the game hasn't been a big hit.

Oh, and we need new puzles as soon as possible. I don't find Streetpassing half as exciting once you have completed all of them.

My Layton queue has been full for weeks. Too many tags here! (And I haven't been clearing them out because I already have more points/coins than there are rewards).

Hmm, well I tried it last night, and both my 3DSes got relay-passed. Although one only got 3 instead of 6, for whatever reason. That was more than 8 hours ago, so I could try it again now!

All puzzle pieces collected!

That's another game I no longer need to play. It's going to be pretty easy to get people through the plaza now that I'm only doing Garden and Battle.

Wow, I was thinking that there seemed to have been an explosion of streetpasses in my home town recently, so I checked the relay map... the number of relays had more than doubled.

Typical for this to happen at the exact moment that I finish all the plaza games.

With all the talk of the Streetpass Weekend and more hints being dropped by various Nintendo reps that expanding the Streetpass experience is something Nintendo is continually looking into I continue to be baffled by the people who are "gaming" the system.

Products like the SpillPass Pi and people who have reconfigured their routers to spoof hot spots are missing the point. The streetpass games are not built to be min-maxed to death, they're a slow burn that provides neat surprises in your gaming sessions randomly. I suppose it's up to the individual to decide how they choose to play their own games but I really feel like people are cheating themselves out of one of the more unique changes in how we play games this gen.

I'm from a small town in Canada that is far from a Streetpass hotbed and I can sympathize if you're in an area where a daily hit isn't a guaranteed occurrence but, much like rolling the system clock forward to game Animal Crossing events, synthesizing the experience robs it of that unknown element and, for me at least, its sense of surprise.

Again, each to their own but moving forward I would encourage 3DS owners to let the service blossom as it chooses to do so in your neighbourhood as the glimpse into the gaming community around me that it provides is an experience I'm thankful the 3DS was able to orchestrate.

It's cool if there is no alternative, or if you think that life is too short to walk around with a 3DS all day. But it is more fun to pass the same people multiple times in your area.

Nintendo have pretty much broken the streetpass 'economy' themselves with the rapid expansion of relays and pushing foreign Miis around.
