Fighting Games Weekly | Dec 9-15 | Funding Nemo? Not yet...

i guess the only problem with the marvel 3 matchups is that the first round probably won't have much good action going for the gamblers. round 2 should be really hype for that on both winners and losers side, though.

While exceptions definitely exist, neither show really had a stellar cell count in the average episode unless you're counting stock, but Sailor Moon did comic expressiveness better than most anime and DBZ was produced concurrent with the manga, so you saw the same slow pacing designed to not overtake it as you see in Naruto and One Piece. Staring also saves money!

Also, Toei used to have specific episode directors also storyboard their own episodes and have quite a bit of freedom with it, so overall quality could vary dramatically from episode to episode, not just animation.

Oh yeah, when Sailor Moon got to S the animation leveled up. Same with the art in Supers.

You definitely needed to seed out F.Champ/Chris/Justin/Nemo, and then it was a matter of "what's the most interesting matchup?"

Wish we could have set up Nemo pulling a Y2J against Champ/Christ in Winner's Semis/Finals though.

I am not into it either. I didn't grow up watching it to form an attachment though. I have tried to go back and watch here and there to see why people love it, but it just doesn't strike a cord with me for whatever reason.

I grew up watching Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man, Thundercats and such. I am still into Transformers (which alot of people would question, haha). I like the figures, the character designs and redesigns over the years, comics, lore, games, all of it.

I also think the only one that could go either way is the marlinpie nemo match. The others seem pretty lopsided, but who knows it's mahvel.

The Cell saga was what made me stand up and take note of the series after my Japanophlilc, otaku-cousin wouldn't stop badgering me about it. It's the context surrounding that fight that makes it good - the choreography and animation doesn't hold up for me as well. It does have its moments.

One thing that ages like fine wine is that Cell Theme. Fuck, that shit is dope. The variation that kicks in about 9:45 is sick as hell, I might have to cop that on iTunes.

Me too! I used to obsess about the vehicles design and how the transformers transformed.

Best fight in DBZ was Goku vs Vegeta 1.

And as for Nemo's tweets I think he's saying that he has two bad match ups in a row regardless of if he wins or loses. And Abegen drawing Chris G is probably his worst match up.

The comics are good man (imo)!. IDW doing good stuff. The latest show, Prime, is up for debate of course. I liked it. I like the lore and universe they have built up. The high moon games have been good, not great. Could be better.

Bayformer Optimus Prime for Marvel 4. Power up super is he throws on Jetfires's parts to get all anime. Shooting fools in the head and ripping off faces. Starsabre slashing.

DBZ was more about it being cool back then. Today it really doesn't hold up unless you're using fast-forward a lot.

Dragon Ball is legit, though.

He could have his sword and shield and power them up with energon for armor (super meter or red life). Maybe another power up super where it turns the sword into the star sabre. Maybe have one of his guns as his H attack. Maybe his trailer is back there tossing hidden transformers missiles. Or full anime and having the star sabre always and doing energy attacks with it.

Soundwave could be cool as well. He would be like Strider basically. Get em Rumble and Ravage.
