Haven't tried it out yet. Will do later

Question regarding PSP games on Vita. Does the Vita emulate the PSP? Or does the Vita have PSP parts inside of it so it essentially becomes a PSP (Like the Wii U does with Wii Mode) whenever PSP games are played?

I always assumed software. PSP emu wasn't in at launch was it?

Just noticed that there's a Ragnarok Odyssey Ace demo in the Japanese PS Store. It only has a 3 star rating though...

Besides having a bit more content its still pretty much the same game thats why. The original got a lukewarm reception too.

I always noticed that you really didn't like Ragnarok Odyssey care to explain? and what is your Japanese PSN?
I've explained it at least once in every Vita thread, lol. It's mostly the horrible drop rates that always makes me feel like I'm wasting my time. Still going to give the Ace demo a try though.

JPSN ID is AbstractChaosJP. I already have you added.

Edit: Even the NAX Music Player patch notes are in English. Why isn't this available in the US PS Store yet?

I just noticed that I've seen you post in the Playstation Forums in the past few days.

Oh I didn't notice. But you should try Lord of Apocalypse demo too which I really enjoyed.

What 3D Platformers weren't made with a young audience in mind?

Does Tearaway count?

But fair point. I don't know what I was expecting.

(Though I do enjoy games like Mario so I don't have a particular dislike for games that have that tone. But while the narrative content in Mario games is generally thin, Sly had a lot so maybe that's why I didn't like it.)

Are you a MVP too? :o

Yep! I became one in the same wave you did which was like 2 weeks before I got my account approved over here.
I kept seeing your avatar in the Blog Posts/MVP forum and thought it was you before looking at the username. I had forgotten you had a different username for PSN :lol
I'm Andy10003 on PSN. I have an Ellie avatar.

I don't even know what I'm doing as an MVP besides giving feedback

Wow Nico Nico app on the Japanese PSN is really nice. I think you can also stream from your Vita if you have the membership? is that correct Parakeetman.

Oh, so that's you on my friend list!

The more I read about the MVP program, the more confused I get.

Yeah I decided to add "FlandyGAF" to the About Me section so VitaGAF would know who I am.

Meh. I'm content with just giving them feedback and spending 90% of my forum time here. Playstation Forums aren't exactly the best forums to post on. The Playstation General board just seems to be filled with people making ridiculous suggestions, complaining about something that was their fault, asking dumb questions, starting console wars, etc.

I wonder how I even got approved as an MVP there. My application basically said: Lurks Gaf, played Runescape back in the day, and has like 600 posts on some forum that's barely active any more.

If Vita 2000 is coming to the US, Sony should center its release around Minecraft.

Bundle Minecraft and a 4GB card with that sucker for $179 and bam, you basically have the relaunch the Vita needs in the West. The tweens would love it - Minecraft is wildfire among that crowd.

They better do a retail release. People need to know it exists

Zero I think the store is updating?
I don't see the SS Delta demo yet.

I should probably change my About Me section sometime too.

I had literally one post in the PS forum before I became MVP, and that was in a Sound Shapes giveaway thread. >.<

I had like 120 or something. I bet the Playstation overloads over there are reading this. Hi Tempest_Fire and mochuuu :P

Hello, everyone. Fell prey to the console wars, so I was banned during the release of Tearaway! Sucked not being able to express my adoration for this incredible, glorious and magnificent gem of a game. Like totobeni, I find myself not easily impressed, lol, but I enjoyed this so much it now holds the honor of my first platinum (after 3 1/2 years on PSN). Anyway, won't be redundant and continue saying what most of you likely already know. Those on the fence should at least give it a spin. Between this and another title for my personal GOTY.

Fully software emulation, there is absolutely nothing in common between the PSP and Vita hardware-wise.

Nice, man. Wondered what had happened to you. Completely agree on the game.

well, further impressions - music is good, graphics are fine apart from a worryingly blurry logo on startup lol! Tutorial explains the controls well, and they seem pretty good with a dual way (flipped by a button) to control how the right stick aims - depending on whether you want accurate placement or quick reactions. I would have loved to control the the item selection with d-pad but apparently that is for shortcuts...haven't come across that yet. Wonder if it's customizable? Anyway screenshots two secs.

Btw if I wanted the chair to be placed facing the opposite direction, would that have been possible? Can I fix it? Just for future reference...and to fix my home :P Also to get rid of the block of wall wood on the top of the house? And if anyone knows how I make the tool I'm missing - second one in the items at the top left, like a pickaxe or something? Accidentally threw it away when I was exploring.

I only scanned the last few pages, so you may have figured out this stuff, but:

- The direction your character and the cursor are facing should determine which way the chair faces.
- You can fix it (and "dismantle" most built stuff) by using a Hammer.
- The Hammer might have been what you dropped earlier. You can simply craft one with wood at the workbench.
- You also use the Hammer to remove wall blocks (I hate stray walls too). It's a bit fiddly, but if you use the Manual cursor you'll quickly learn where walls get built and how you can dismantle them.
- If you're still after the Pickaxe I reckon you can make one using a Furnace with some stone/copper/iron blocks or bars.
- You assign shortcuts by selecting the item in your inventory and pressing the desired D-pad button.

Thanks for your impressions. I couldn't wait yesterday so I just went and bought it xD But I'm enjoying it so far - as usual this kind of game appeals to me much more on the Vita rather than on PC.

Once I have my house looking spick-and-span I'll take some pics and post them up. In the meantime, if you want to try multiplayer (and get a new Vitabro), my ID is the same as on here. Maybe we should start a new community thread for Vita Terrarians at some point. I'm keen to try playing with others, as I never gave it a chance on PC and from what I played of Minecraft, building together is great fun.

Playing Gravity Rush.

It's incredible how much better it looks while playing on the Vita.

So far, so good. Still very early on the game.

Thank you for all the detailed tips! I actually have been playing for a few hours now and figured that stuff out so far haha but hopefully other newbies will find it useful. I'm really enjoying it, currently in party chat and in a friend's world, on break to munch but it's a lot of fun! Exactly what I was hoping. Will definitely throw you a friend request in a little bit and would love to play more multiplayer too. The guy I'm playing with is switching to his japanese account for a while.

I'd love an active terraria thread...just getting by at the moment.

Not sure if there was any actual announcement, but the Vita port of Terraria is getting a retail release in Japan. February 6.

Meanwhile I think 505 cancelled their plans to release a retail version of it in Europe.

PS Vita 2k + 4GB + Minecraft Voucher + 1 Month PS+ = 1 Million easy. Toss in Tearaway physically. If Minecraft doesn't sell the Vita? I don't know what will.

Such a brilliant game. Every time I load it up I think about buying the DLC but I just can't pull the trigger. If they were a shade cheaper I'd be convinced.

They fit the entire 63mb on a single cartridge? Holy damn.

Yes, yes and yes. SCEA would be mega stupid not to try and make the most possible hay out of the Minecraft release. This needs to happen.

I picked up Ys 7 and Oath to Felgana during their sale on a whim. I was told the stories are are separate other than a few reoccurring characters. Which order should I play them in? I'm mostly looking to play the "better" game second but if there happens to be a link I would prefer the proper order.

God, I'd love to have the 2000's start and select buttons with the OLED of the 1000.

Me as well. As much as I'd prefer the improved buttons (and a green Vita), I'm not giving up my OLED. Wish Sony would have kept the OLED for the 2000. Maybe I'll pick up a green 2000 model if they ever come to North America.

This made me investigate the green Vita 2000 and goddamn that's hot.
