Might as well post this before it disappears.

A French vita owner is prototyping a vita l2/r2/l3/r3 add on for RP. Hopefully he completes it.

Ah top of page thing: Buy Tearaway, Doki Doki Universe and rainbow moon

That's awesome!

How do you like Doki Doki Universe? How's the gameplay? Are the characters/game story too patronising?

Just put Tearaway in an 8 year old boy's hands.

Sony should be stopping people in the streets with this thing! Definitely the best form of advertising.

Is it that bad?!?! I have a return label for the gift, but god...it's a gift and I really don't want to return it
It's not that bad. I platinum'd the first game and had a blast doing it. Only had noticeable (for me) framedrops in one particular area. An early area... the first beach you go to... on the opposite side of the entrance where you go maybe twice.

Only real issue about the game (the first one that is), is that you can't really grab moving platforms. You just slide off. Oddly enough, the reviews trashing the port never talked about this issue in J&D. :\ But that issue just made the platforming more interesting, since it was more about getting the perfect jump with the only safety net being your spin attack. Rather than grabbing.

Front touch stuff was neat in J&D, helped navigating the menu and the fishing mini-game was super easy compared to on PS3.

Jak II, definitely has framerate problems in the open world. Didn't notice in the early mission/platforming sections. I stopped playing it though because I hate Jak II as a game. Also has issues with rear touch controls being unresponsive. Activating the dark eco should have been on the front touch... in the obvious spot of the meter for it. Not sure wtf they were thinking with the button mapping on Jak II. (and probably III)

Never played Jak III... since I can't get through Jak II. Same on PS2 and PS3. Dx

And no, it's nothing like R&C FFA port. Much better ports than that.

Jak Collection just suffers from, "It's worse than it is" reputation that many PS Vita games get. Is it perfect? No, is it worth playing? To me, it was totally worth $40 for portable J&D alone. (bought it at retail, and SCEA don't sell the games separately on PSN from my knowledge though I think SCEE did) The fact so many people went for the "it's such a shit port they left in the rumble option in J&D!". When you have to point to something so ridiculous as 'evidence' to how bad it is... maybe it's just evidence it's not as bad as people say it is.

But whatever.

Im liking the weird art and strange cutesy voices, makes the game really out of this world and rather charming. Gameplay wise, its similar to Scribblenauts, you help folks and or try to make them like you by popping out Summonables or interacting them with touch or gestures. There are also meteors where you answer some quizzes that try to figure out your personality and most of the time, their analysis were pretty spot on. So far, Im liking it.

However, performance is odd with this one. Sometimes the framerate would be rough during conversations that push the story and when you pick up characters, it drops badly but smoothens itself out rather quickly. And there are chances it might crash, though for me, no crashes yet. There are also loading times that are rather long but im patient enough.

Theres a demo if you or anyone is on the fence bout the game. Price might dissuade potential buyers. Its $15, no plus discount.

I'm going to get to Jak 1 on my Vita whenever I can and let you guys know my impressions of it or something, I just need to beat Ys first!

WARNING: Do not go in any of the vita threads (except this one!) that are currently in GAF's first page.

Massively depressing stuff.

Why should it depress you? You liked the game, bought it and enjoyed it. Its not your job to market the game to the masses, asides from just discussing it on forums. Dont let shit like that bother you or else you never are going to enjoy anything with gaming, seriously.

You want the devs to be happy? Enjoy the title as thats obviously the reason why they created it, not to do gangbusters like the latest pewpewpew of the hour. If they wanted money as the main goal they wouldnt have done something as unique as this.
Nicely said.

Meanwhile in reality, this thing keeps churning out piles of great games that look marvellous. And with Japan slowly waking up to it, it's not going away any time soon.

I assume you're talking about the game all the way to the left?

Okay guys what's coming up for vita next year, besides Toukiden and YS:MoC (Europe)? Freedom Wars and Over my Dead Body 2 if they ever make it over. Project Diva f 2nd.

The persona dancing game, ff10 hd, soul sac delta, gow 1&2, dangan ronpa, phantasy star nova etc etc basically all the Japanese releases. A whole bunch of indie games as well, which is all we can expect from the west. Plus into the nexus vita.

Squaresoft also said a few months back they are localizing type 0 to coincide with the development of agito for the west.

Add Minecraft and Toukiden(Confirmed coming west), And Shu said he'd have a heart attack if Over my dead body 2 didn't come west.

Woah Woah Woah, god of war 1 and 2?

Man I wish touch screens came with protective film already attached. Bought one of those official packs and managed to get a couple unworkable bubbles in both. Don't give a fuck if it gets scratched now.

I just got my vita so I may still be in the honeymoon stage but I love this thing! I like to call it my Hot Shots Golf Machine ;p

The front page on gaf is kinda appalling if that's the view people have of vita....the latest one is particularily eye rolling

Yes, God of War Collection was announced at E3. Not much has been said about it since then.

There haven't been so many negative Vita topics on GAF in a while. I guess we were overdue. :(

I think Xbone did too well, so GAF needed something else to bully after it got tired of picking on the Wii U all the time. If there's one thing I get tired of around here it's the HERE IS MY IMPORTANT SALES BASED OPINION crap. So many of my favourite systems through the years have been underdogs. Having a smaller library just means the system has a better defined personality.

I'm definitely getting Velocity 2X, Rogue Legacy, Hotline Miami 2, Super Exploding Zoo, The Walking Dead: Season 2, OlliOlli, The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, VVVVVV, Volume, Nuclear Throne, the Joe Danger games and a bunch more.

I keep forgetting VVVVVV is coming to the Vita. Once that gets released I'll probably never put my Vita down.

Also interested in that Duke Nukem 3D Megaton port. Never played a Duke game before.

Wow, Destiny of Spirits is taking forever to uninstall. It's not even a gig.

EDIT: I guess the download bug is fixed now? I bought Spelunky the other day and I'm downloading the Tearaway demo now--so far, no problems.

The latest NPD surely has everything to do with it. Last night it was what Nintendo needs to do next with the Wii U. Today people are saying Sony should stop first party development for the Vita and all this crap. Should honestly just ignore most of it because it's coming from people who are either trolling or never even gave the Vita a chance. I'm enjoying mine and that's all that counts.

Also sort of interested in God of War. My vita might become a portable PS2 and I think I'm ok with that.

Save your time and energy for the discussions that matter my friend. You can go in those threads and argue those guys up a tree but they've already made up their minds, why bother?

Yeah, I totally share your opinion. Dreamcast 4 lyfe ( Am I doing this right?).

Thanks for the impressions, sorry for the delayed response. I'm waiting to give the demo a proper try myself after I'm done with Stick it to the man, not familiar with Scribblenauts but that does sound like fun with the right mood. Not too bothered with the framerate drops if it doesn't affect gameplay too much? How's the puzzle challenge/difficulty aspect of the gameplay? I know it's something hard to rate.

Y'know, Rogue Legacy would have been a day one buy for me before I finished my gaming PC. Now that I've played a ton of it in the past couple of weeks, I don't see myself rebuying it, no matter how good it is.

Some of the rest of those, however, are probably on my buy list. :)

Hey, EU VitaGAF, you get Soul Sacrifice and Blazblue CS2E in a few weeks. (DmC and Borderlands 2 for PS3 and then Don't Starve for PS4.)

I want Rogue Legacy so bad. I hope it comes early next year. I don't want to have to wait forever for it. D:

It's exactly what I want out of games like it.

If there wasn't so much coming out early next year, I'd be importing Tearaway from Europe and Japan.

I'm totally down for double dipping on indies. I've put around nine hours into VVVVVV on PC, but I'll gladly pay again to have it on the Vita. I don't know why, but something about the system just makes playing games on it so attractive.

Edit: Oh, top of page. Everyone play Lumines and Proteus. I'm also gonna mention Tearaway - even though I haven't played it - just because it's so adorable.

I bought my 32 gig memory card tonight because, well... how can I hold all these games, etc.

If anyone wants a free 8gb card and is going to use it, PM me I'll ship it out. US only.
